The funny thing is that it sounds like that may have been the precursor to these women's comments that got them banned. They chose to respond instead of reporting people, which would have given the troll a ban. Even if they don't care to report people, they can just ignore the comments, it's not like Facebook forces you to read everything before going to the next post.

Saying "All Lives Matter!" means you miss the point of the BLM movement. It doesn't seem to me that that many people knew of the other victims until recently. But regardless, sometimes you have to protect your career at the expense of your own suffering. Especially when we're talking about getting completely black-listed and smeared in public media. I do think a lot of these women thought they might have been the only one, or they felt the backlash and black-listing would be too great and losing everything they have to fight Weinstein isn't worth it.

I was thinking pretty much the same thing. If we want to be taken seriously we need to have distance from people like him. I'm here because men need fair representation in custody cases, should have paternity leave, equal access to social safety nets and health care, etc; not to hate women/feminists. I don't think associating with the extreme right-wing is beneficial at all and makes us look like assholes.

That's another good thing in a way. Most people recognize insanity and won't give in. I think we could look at hippies as an example, they were pretty out there in their time, but in large part the young adults of that movement just reabsorbed into society.
