From where I’ve been born and raised, arranged marriages were the only norm. We hardly heard of divorces. Ppl were definitely much happier and marriages lasted a lifetime. Yes, there’s the occasional really bad marriage that has some really bad issues. But those were rare and really really hard to find. So yes they do work out well. And you are right, it’s the feeling of family, the girl would willingly become a part of the boys family and that’s how one stays together for life.

Exactly, I too was far on the other side (I’m a male). Once I looked at this and understood it, I was like yup, this is the way!!

You are right! It’s a disgrace. It has destroyed healthy, happy and subtle romance. For context, I’m a male here.

It’s amazing that you have this mindset. Stick to it. It’ll hurt a lot but process it. And eventually it’ll stop hurting. So take up a hobby/ work/ study whatever helps. Focus on that and acknowledge your hurt. One day it’ll stop hurting and you’ll be back on your feet, ready to love and be given love.

I thought I’ll share this link. It also talks about similar issues that are being discussed in the thread. I’m not sure if the info/ research is legit or verified. Just an interesting read. https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/3868557-most-young-men-are-single-most-young-women-are-not/

Good. Just be you and make your intentions clear. What you seek, is seeking you!

I’m not Christian. My reasoning is simple. It’s my energy that I’m exchanging with another person. I’m giving mine, taking/ accepting theirs. There’s so much more than just physical/ superficial experience. You’re giving a part of yourself to someone and taking a part of them into you. If someone has a past, I totally understand. Things happen in life. But it’s the attitude that matters. Are we someone who will just do it with anyone and everyone or are we someone who has that control and wants …

Not sure what kinda men or boys you’ve been hanging out with. Sex affects everyone deeply, man or woman. Sure there are men out there that don’t care and there are an equal number of women out there that don’t care. But there’s good in the world and there are men that deeply care and won’t have a physical relationship before marriage. I’m one of them hence saying it confidently!! I’ll only commit and be physical if she wants to be my wife, otherwise she ain’t worth it. Same for the other side as…

Thank you kind lady. Yes that’s how I was raised and I’ll always be that way. I’ll open doors, make sure the lady sits first, pay for dates and make sure I give her my jacket if she’s cold. My woman is my queen, no two ways about that! If she wants to be sore about it, that’s her lookout.

Yes I agree. There are no good role models for either gender. And the entire art fabric of society is highly distorted to suit commercial needs. Also it’s impossible not to offend someone these days. As you said no matter what one does, someone will get offended.

I don’t feel there’s a type. Personally I would ask a woman out. But that’s just me being old school. I don’t have a problem either ways, it’s just how I’m built. But if any woman was to approach me, I wouldn’t have a type. I would say yes to the woman that I’m more attracted to but that’s just a preference. Short answer, no I don’t think there’s a type that id expect that will approach me or not.

From a Man’s perspective, the world is just flipping. I was called out for opening the door for a lady. She said she can open her own doors. I’m like yeah I know you can. Similarly, there’s backlash against men wooing their women, and going down on one knee etc. Some sections of women feel that it’s empowering to ask men out and take the first step. Given the rise in that number. The new generation of men have just become lazy and have zero social skills to ask women out. It’s a real problem and…
