You're right. Thanks. Just want to bulletproof myself. Don't know how.

Does that work? Just take a step back and follow his lead? I mean I've been following his lead for some time. It's been four months now coming five. My needs are increasingly not being met as I want more

I'm ok with him using me for sex because that was the original contract. What's confusing is that he implies he wants to do all these dating stuff and when I remind him he doesn't have to do those stuff just to keep me around, he says we are not just casual. But it does feel like casual because he has not asked me out. This is what I'm referring to by him "playing me" just to keep me to stick around I didn't plan on using him as a rebound for another man (I went monk mode for 3 months first to t…

Thanks, it feels comforting to have you relate to me as intj. The thing is I never had this issue pre being cheated on, so dealing with huge emotions of fear... I'm not sure if going monk mode will be helpful. I've done monk mode for 3 months and cocooned myself in even more, trying to erase my need for romance and sex completely. You know the classic if I can't have it I don't need it mentality. Maybe it's wrong and naive but I think if this person could show me some love, I would start to heal…

Thanks for preparing me for this. What do you mean when you say I've reset his expectations? And, what can I do now?

I gave him a small gift (a hard to obtain snack he mentioned liking before) and with a thank you card. I don't know whether this was sufficient. Anyway now I've probably gone ahead to ruin it with not stfu'ing and telling him about my trust issues. He said "if you're not comfortable then we can just let it be" How do I plan something like you said? Is it ok if I ask him out? I have something he might love to do

Thanks for this. I definitely don't feel valued after being cheated on :( all my prior confidence is gone and this is my first time I have trust issues that I'm being used for sex. Not sure how to overcome it, it's been a year. I feel horrible.

I read most of the advice here and want to add have you considered freezing your eggs? With focus on your career you should be able to have the money to do this and start a family later when things wind down

I'm new to TRP but I recognize the same behaviors/wants in myself. Can I say your problem right now at this point seems to be that you don't do enough of what you want. It seems like you're constantly crafting a story/new goal for yourself so you'll never get there. I understand you want to be a better woman and person in general but maybe every once in a while you should follow your first instinct rather than doing what is correct. Wasn't this trait sort of covered in Fascinating Womanhood too?…

Is he just picking his battles or ignoring everything altogether? When I was in a LTR I never brought stuff up unless they were really bad

I'm a plate with the guy I'm currently seeing. This much is clear and started out as an intentional casual sex situation. No matter how nice he treats me and mentioning we're more than casual or insinuates we could someday be more, I don't have delusions I'm not a plate. Until he explicitly calls me his girlfriend. Now previously I was dating a guy but I didn't know I was a plate. This was the first time I ever had sex during the dating phase and outside of a committed relationship. He was charm…

Good tip thanks :) I hate wearing nail polish because I get sensitive skin and scratch quite a bit but doesn't mean I can't pamper my nails

That sounds hot tbh. Dunno why I never thought of it before. Thanks :) what do you mean by brush and hair that's not tight? My hair tends to be flat..

I am so happy you put "play lord of the rings online". I've been lurking on rpw for the last few months and am so happy to see computer games on here... been so confused as to how to be more feminine since I come from a more masculine industry and have more masculine interests

Can you give me some advice on how to dress more feminine? Not sure where to start. I look feminine but dress masculine or like I don't care - to be honest I really hate putting on makeup. I also like more professional clothing and men's watches. Ugh I guess I want to look feminine but also still be myself.

I'm like this too and relate to you actually. How to become more challenging though? Isn't that playing games?

Maybe. I value myself and don't want to open up to the wrong person. I am slow in emotions, but when I feel I really feel deeply and start giving in every way. Even more so than sex... I can't give this side of myself away easily. Don't know how weird/normal this is.

I was open to the possibility of developing feelings after he answered he did not want just sex. I recognize casual sex is not supported by RPW, so now I'm trying to turn this around since it seems to be going past casual zone, and isn't initiated by me. You're definitely right in that I have baggage. Just afraid of being hurt, think that's pretty normal. Where do you think I should begin? This is just the second man I'm having sex with FYI. I'm in late twenties.

That's awesome. Did he (before he became your husband) at that time ask you out for non-sex dates first or did you initiate? I make the bed naturally actually... for all my partners. It was more of a "i like to keep tidy gesture" but good to know

I want something long-term with goal towards marriage. What did I do wrong in the previous situation that caused him to see me as only a sexual partner? Is it because I didn't wait to have sex? How do I juggle between having a high libido and sexual strategy? I've wanted sex every date ever since I had sex. How do I juggle between strategy and being more feminine while not entirely becoming someone else? I don't usually wear makeup or dresses. I work in tech and play video games. Do I have to gi…

Should I also learn to cook a special cuisine? Is my lack of cooking skills making me not feminine enough to attract long term commitment?

Perfectly get your point. Just curious though, would the reason she is unmarried with a kid change your decision? For example, her husband died of cancer and she was upfront with you about the kid at the first date. Even then, I don't think it's selfish of you to reject it.

Is gender a construct if influenced, in part, by nature? Is the cycle of nature perpetuated by nurture? I don't deny anything you just said. These are just the questions I wonder about. I guess we tend to seek out arguments against nature because it's hard to swallow. Like men being expected to do the physical labor because it's influenced in part by centuries of nature. Like females being assumed to be less competent in STEM fields. Thanks for your input.

I literally googled "first programmer in the world" and Lovelace came up. What programming entailed at that time, I don't know, which is why I responded to a post claiming that programming in the past was more to do with secretarial work. My goal is to clarify. I often end up in networking circles where men bring up "women don't like to code by nature" - this may be true for the large majority, but if you belong to the minority, the subject gets frustrating and of course I wish to know more to b…

Lovelace is known in history as the first programmer. That's not something I just made up. (Edit: I Googled this, which is why I'm questioning it). I'm not trying to downplay the contributions of men. Please rein in your emotions. I brought up this example because people often use "nature" to explain why women don't have a "natural inclinication" towards tech. If a woman is one of the early programming pioneers, this doesn't make sense. At some point you have to wonder what other factors, possib…

I'm just curious. I work in the tech field but not the technical aspects, and hear men say all the time women are "by nature" not inclined to programming. I know that there are trends to indicate more men than women in STEM, but whether it's "nature", no. Of course I also believe that these trends don't indicate an individual's potential to succeed in whatever field they set out to do. As someone who doesn't know a whole lot about programming, do you have an explanation/argument for why the firs…

Correlation not causation. There is a trend yes, but it doesn't equate to men being smart and women being dumb. Assuming he made such an assumption - you might be overly sensitive. Regardless of tendencies (due to nature + nurture causes), gender is not a limitation for individuals to be who they want to be or what degrees they want to get. If you have time read the MGTOW sub. The ideology isn't bad but many of the men there are truly misogynistic. It scares the fuck out of me. This sub is much …
