That would probably be why I haven't encountered a case like that

OP, I don't see your relationship going in a good direction without a talk. He's insecure, and you aren't enough to change that (no one is). He shouldn't be thinking of the dating world when he's with you, he should be thinking how great it is that you 2 have had the privilege to connect. You're right to feel off about it, as far as I can tell. Red pill attitudes are not conducive to healthy, emotionally mature and safe relationships between the opposite sexes. TRUST YOUR GUT.

That isn't a very nice thing to say to someone

Ok! If you want to be the type of man they want, sounds like you should be working on the social skills. Do what you gotta do dude

Yayyy men like you make me feel so much relief

I think this man wants to rage-bait a bit. Your message was very kind and open, it made me feel better to read it! His responses are pretty intense and very very rigid which is difficult in a conversation like this. Found myself having trouble maintaining composure personally with the negativity and his relinquishing of agency, it's pretty frustrating. The helplessness. Your clear-minded comment felt relieving! It's unfortunately true that many autistic people are socialized to think they can't …

I have found a couple men who share my values, and I am dating one presently :)
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 02:31 AM

Okay. Give up then I guess, doesn't sound like you are open to things being different than that.

Oh I dont plan on quitting my job to clean up after a grown man! I work, he works. We both put our trash directly into the garbage bin. Thats the dream for me.

Thank you. Well said. I don't even expect a full secured career and everything, just the basics like regular showers, garbage directly in the bin, cleaning counter after cooking. Clean sheets, ideally a sheet under the comforter for hygiene. I won't remind a man to do these things, I want one who just has similar values as me. Might be why I haven't been in many relationships for too long.

Thank you! I appreciate this comment. I agree fully and appreciate how it was worded. That comment about dating the average man was somewhat upsetting, as I've been doing that, yet as you described the average man does not have great social skills or relationship management. It's a rare trait in men to have effective interpersonal communication skills and emotional regulation skills. Women are socialized this way so its definitely a societal scale issue, but men who have already been socialized …

Im successful, fit, conventionally attractive and white (meaning, not subject to racism, and sometimes valued by non-white men literally for being white which is weird) I'm outgoing and friendly, but part deaf so I've always enjoyed solitary activities especially reading and learning. I've never truly pursued a man who wasn't interested, except those who didn't want a relationship because they were college party boys, but I learned quick. I don't have sex with men unless we are serious, so they …

To point out that we aren't a monolith! My preferences can be a direct contradiction to these firm beliefs about what women want

I didn't say I was speaking for all women, hence the use of "I" and "me". Just to help you understand what I was talking about :)

Its okay to want that! I personally just don't :) and I think thats okay. I want to feel like an added bonus to someones life, someone who is already fulfilled and happy with their life and career. I don't want to feel like I'm filling some void of self-worth. I want a man who doesn't need me, but wants me. This means I am not his whole world, but an important part of it, though he'd be okay without me. I'm not trying to be the patch for someones misery.

Exactly! I want a man who is passionate about his career. He doesn't NEED me, he'd be happy and fulfilled without me, but he's glad to have me around as a bonus.

It's just my personal experience in dating. A "blanket statement" that covers the experiences of myself and many other women in my life. Negativity towards women, insecurity, and rumination about it, are what I personally consider to be poor qualities in a partner. YMMV.

I have never met a top 1% guy in my life! I think I'd expect them to be a douchebag. Also! I'll choose who I date :) I like the quiet nerd types but regardless of the variety of men I've met, they can often be just too excited to "have" a woman that they forget I am a person who chose to be there and can choose not to be if I am disrespected frequently.

Yes it really is!! Glad to find someone like-minded. I usually dont bother commenting here, because this is the wrong place for balanced takes. Sometimes, an invitation that seemed like it was for a conversation is actually for an argument. The level of conviction for anecdotal beliefs held by people in this sub can be disturbing, and like you said, the framing in that way prevents productive conversations. It's just misery and negativity being shoved around.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/25 03:28 PM

I will if someone is avoiding dating when it is what they actually want! But if a friend of mine doesn't want to date I would never encourage them to do so
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/25 03:25 PM

Exactly. Sure its harder for them and it sucks. I still don't want to date them cuz I would be the center of their life and they would be a bonus to mine. Different attitudes and emotionally its not worthwhile for me

Yep. I've struggled to find a relationship as a woman for years. It is lonely, and men have treated me like objects to use whenever they do come around. I want to have that romantic connection but not enough to feel negatively towards men in general. I have other things I chose to put my energy towards in life. I believe that if I do find a partner one day, it won't be because I was miserable and resentful for years! These conversations make it seem like women are getting happily married left an…

Why not find fulfillment other ways? Why not heal? Why must you take your feelings out on others or behave destructively, and why do you feel like that is validated? You could go through much worse, and problematic behaviour will never become acceptable. It's just not how it works, theres no free pass for lonely and sad people. You either can focus on friends and career and stay open minded or you can make a partner your one need and whine about not having that. The only person that suffers is y…

I appreciate this comment. The narrow mindedness and combativeness in this discourse is kind of depressing.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/25 03:02 PM

There's lots of single women out there! Keep putting yourself out there!
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/25 02:56 PM

Okay. I work with autistic people at a program and I haven't encountered these types of people in my own experience, they sound more dangerous. Several of the participants at my program have partners, but they only have autistic partners and that has worked well for them. YMMV I guess! I wouldn't give up on that. I've dated men shorter than me by several inches. I think the height thing is more of an online thing than anything. In real life, women aren't eliminating a good partner because off hi…

What is an "eligible woman"?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/25 09:03 AM

Exactly. That's how it is..I understand, but what the hell are you expecting me to change about this situation for you?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/25 09:01 AM

Because its disturbing hearing this experience described in so much contrast to ours. We want freedom to love someone who loves us. We don't want to be the thing he has placed all his value and self-worth on, for years and years so much that he is expressing the anger at us.. not love. He is showing anger over what he didn't have before instead of being in the moment and connecting deeply with us. It is not a woman's responsibility to heal your resentments and self loathing. Women don't like the…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/25 08:50 AM

Being sexually desired is the most depressing, demeaning, unfortunate requisite for dating men.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/25 08:42 AM

Why can't you date exactly? "Ugly" people date too. Why not try to meet autistic women that you can relate to more? It might be worth the patience to find someone more your speed!
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/25 08:40 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
