Being a bisexual transwoman it irks me when the "social construct" card appears. When I tried to live as a man my problems were not that I wasn't allowed to be who I am. The problem is that the LGBT community is incredibly big and therefore you will find all kinds of different groups in there. You have lesbians who love transwomen, and then you have lesbians who hate transwomen. You have gays who hate bisexuals, and you have gays that consider nothing wrong with being with a bisexual transperson. The problem lies in the individuals and not the organization. The problem is that anyone can call themselves a feminist regardless of their intentions(I see the same happening to men's rights, but on a smaller scale currently). Sarah Palin is feminist but I wouldn't exactly consider her a very egalitarian person. Even people who are discriminated against can discriminate themselves. Probably the most evident discrimination many gay people commit is against bisexual men(women seem to be exempt from this though). Basically the parents don't want the extra responsibility of having to take care of an intersexed individual so they opt for the easy way out for them, but might cost the child its life later when he or she sinks into depression.
