I think you were lucky to get off lightly and just "out of this gig" and it had no further implications involving law enforcement or, if you're employed by a company, being fired for real (meaning you have no future clients as well).

Euh ye, but I fail to see how this is relevant to my point. I'm saying how can this be an unaddressed issue in the USA after so many years, when you reply that it's up until recently people carry cameras, while I take Europe for example to have camera's just as long where it isn't an issue.

Comparably to Europe I don't see the correlation though. They don't have issues with police brutality and general unfairness like this.

I'm a teacher myself, and besides of all kinds of contracts I had to sign - I kind of do agree though that teachers and students have no business with each other on a sheer professionality level. I do not find it that unreasonable you just shouldn't as a teacher.

I'm always amazed stuff like this is still happening in the USA, time after time again. Why has this been an unaddressed issue for years?

I'm sure there will be a deficiency out there that SOMEONE has that involves he has to actively think about breathing.

ye, alright, alright, but I find the reasoning he simply didn't want it and said repeatedly "no" pretty much the strongest indication that it was non-consensual.

What's up with people HERE, in a subreddit like mensright acting like he did consent to it but was wrong regardless of the woman due to genders flipped or that kind of bullshit. HE DID NOT WANT IT, HE RAN OFF. If someone does not want to have sex, isn't it clear that it's without consent.

In retrospect, what I'm saying that likely this would have been suggested during the earlier stages of the process. But I do not say a woman is necessary though, all I'm saying is possibly beneficial.

I said arguably for a reason, that I am not sure, but from personal experience it is what I have come to known ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, if it can't be extrapolated like that, then I guess I'm wrong. Though IT is an incredibly male-dominated field, so that may have something to do with it.

Well, talking from anecdotal evidence, I'm in biomedical engineering, which is one of the studies where there are quite a lot of women as well (nearing half, as if by miracle), and I have noticed in research groups with only men that ideas and solutions tend to circlejerk around a single point of interest of the problem. It requires me (or someone else) to forcefully change the aspect of looking at it to see other possibilities, other points of interest that can be modified in order to achieve a…

I do agree the discrimination is undeniable and unfair towards men, certainly.

I live in the Netherlands, and more specifically, Eindhoven which is comparable to Delft. And I'm a man in this field of work, in the same environment. The lack of women in these two cities is staggering, due to these two places being the homes of the two technological institutes, and virtually no soft sciences like psychology, the men outweigh the women faaaaar. This result in more campaigns to attract women, the implementation of more courses aimed at women and grants only eligible to women. H…

Well, this change from exclusive to boys to gender neutral has happened too in the past in the Netherlands. Frankly is one of the few options one has to be gender inclusive to all and maintain the ol'e boys network frats and societies seem to build their right on existance on, creating a new thing next to existing frats or sororities are unsuccesful in that aspect.
/r/MensRights29/09/14 11:54 AM

Well, here in the Netherlands, those are called "societies" rather than frats or sororities, and both genders are welcome. I don't see why this is a problem.

You know, the only way to change this is by collectively as men, not ask women out anymore. I'm not saying this is feasable by any means, to let every men in the US hold their horses....But it would be the only way.

Euh, not only fight against that, but divorce from such an evil witch. WTF do you do to yourself wanting to even come close to such a person. It is against his goddamn RIGHTS to have bodily harm done unwillingly.

I'm extremely concerned for the wellbeing of the family. This likely makes this mom lose her already low-wage job at McD, and wtf does this family have to live off then :(

That you speak up about these issues in real life too, and not only on the Internet, possibly gaining attention because of it.
/r/MensRights04/06/14 06:56 PM

But the question is, does it DO something about those issues as well, or just report it here in the subreddit and have some half-assed "discussion" about it?

The reason you're wrong is that in historic times things had different meanings and different contexts. You're also forgetting to ask, did men have a hard time in history too? It's easy to list things where women were not doing great, but if you don't also ask about what was happening to men it's like you're trying to compare women living centuries ago to men and women today. I'm quite aware on how the historic view on things were, the vote of the man was the vote of the family, not necessarily …

This childish bullshit is not something permissable at this stage of MR activism. It detracts attention from the real issue and gives reason to mockery. Don't do it.

I find it extremely hurtful how "I" or my gender is portrayed like this more and more. When I was 16, I flew back from Sweden where a morrocon woman and her two sons were next to me. (Me in the window seat, morrocan boy, mother, and the next 3 seats over the path, her other son). I talked to the boy for the following two hours about his interests, football, and asked about his eating habits and what he liked to eat and such, and had a lovely conversation. His mother switched seats with her other…

http://www.klasse.be/leraren/33451/soms-wil-ik-onder-mijn-dekbed-verdwijnen/ Dutch, but you can Google translate it quite well. Klasse is a kind of magazine which has editions for students and teachers in middle+highschool. Background information you might need; school system is divided in three major parts, BSO, TSO and ASO. BSO being the "professional" trade students, going for manual labor like carpenters and construction workers, ASO being the academical kind for students going to university…

People busy with school from waking up till going to bed. Nothing else is rather important, no bullshit with loves, affairs, consuming hobbies or an extreme amount of sports. School, school, school. The pressure is much higher than anywhere else in Europe, or America for that matter where highschoolers are known to bullshit around, not do anything at all and the sorts. Being busy daily till 22 o'clock or even later sometimes is not exceptional. A lot more discipline as well. In my middle+highsch…

Well, am I the only one who thinks you must be an incredible stupid kid to TURN YOURSELF IN? I don't know, but if you brought something accidentally to school, hiding in your backpack, you can also keep it in your backpack and just don't tell anyone about it. Or you must be really that feeling of being sooooo honest.

Surprisingly yes. Although I was taught by generally only licentiates, people with a masters degree. In the lower years, and regular aso, female teachers were way more common. (also they generally held a bachelors degree) I attended Latijnse as an FYI, grammar school translated to English. To elaborate more on the situation I was in, it was true most of the pupils were girls. We were in classes of around 20 people, and we were with 5 guys. Guys did get systematically filtered out because they ju…

Belgian talking here. I can confirm, but I confirm this to be ESPECIALLY, and practically only with male teachers. While female teachers gave an all-around more equal attention, punishment or grades for girls, and in some cases I'd even think they'd be favoring the boys. But ye, definately the male teachers were extremely pro-girls as far as I noticed. French (male) teacher; Couldn't get one sentence translated perfectly right according to him. Girls get away with perfect scores and it falls und…

honestly, I find your opinion repulsive. However, you are entitled to have your opinion and you're free to express it, let me stress that. Homosexuality is a caricature? A negative one? Seriously? cis and trans are terms you might have known if you paid attention in chemistry class; "cis" is equal to "same", trans is equal "opposite". You might be able to figure further out what the connotation of those mean. Racialized is a euphemistic term to include all people who are not white. (black, hispa…

That is certainly not ok, I was pointing out on the way of discussion. No one is going to get any further by pointing fingers. And I must say, that certain children shows do live in their single - gendered universe, which may be harmful in the sense of stereotyping the other. Both Thomas the tank engine and MLP may fall under this, but neither is 'more correct' because of the existence of the other. The responses on this article arent any less being ridiculed as you point out from the other side…

Well, why not? I find it proving of quite a small mind to immediately oppose this with examples from MLP. Like it's also very childish to point out the wrongdoings of the accusator when being addressed for your wrongdoings. If Thomas the tank engine could use more female characters, so be it. Flaws are there to be pointed out.

But the deep web isn't that hard to reach either? Just download the tor-browser and everything is set to go. If someone can install Google Chrome, someone can install a different browser too.

If it's about Japan, even stronger; the men generally don't want to get involved in a relationship because they feel the woman is just a burden without too many benefits. They have to rely on your payroll as a man, with having nothing to give in return.

I'm pretty sure I've seen some "dumb women" commercials about laundry products though. Where a mother explains her daughter, or two friends (females) explain each other how dumb she is with her laundry, and should use the advertised product. But ye, this thread caused what those companies wanted to achieve with their commercials: attention. Due to this thread, even more attention has been given to those brands, and within 8 years you might not remember this specific ad and why you hate the brand…

I really can hardly see the injustice done here. Discounts are merely an example of demand and supply; There is too much supply, and not enough demand, thus the price lowers (in terms of a discount). Whether this is with 2 different male product, 2 different female products or whatever the case is, it's a little farfetched to share this under MensRights. However in terms of clothes what I do have a very big problem with is the mens department of confectionary clothing stores. 5/6 of the store is…

You know, I think at the end of the day there are just various kind of people. You have a whole group who is completely fine with how it is. It's just a videogame and no one bothers, or they even like the look. And there is the moaning kind that bitch about everything possible. There is also a reason Barbie exists as it is, however it may be soooo wrong by the feminists, it does appeal to girls. It's made by a woman, for girls. It has not been changed because this is what caters to the young gir…

Here in Europe we have something called "marriage under contract", and it's actually a pretty standard thing to put that into the contract. If she is unwilling to sign such a contract, than boy, you know she is a golddigger and you should not be marrying her.
