Unfortunately, I don’t foresee the “culture war” ever ceasing

The real world isn’t as simple as you’re making it out to be, OP.

Yeah it’s a TikTok thing. I’m 28 for context, and almost every person I talk to doesn’t care about height as much as it’s portrayed. But let’s be clear, it’s always been a preference. Phrases like “tall, dark, and handsome;” “tall drink of water;” etc. and the heights of older couples to me indicates this.

Luckily we have a term for that — “lying by omission.” You’re probably a sociopath lmao.

Not if you want to be moral. Your perspective is: “it’s ok to be immoral if other people are also being immoral in the same way.” That’s simply a crazy position to have.

Luckily I’ve found an honest partner. I agree most people aren’t, but they’re still behaving immorally.

To avoid ambiguity. People need more honesty in life. These people aren’t who are the subject of discussion aren’t being honest with themselves let alone others.

I fail to see how voyeurism is a new phenomenon. You don’t need porn to get off, you’re right, it’s just a more fun way to get off.

My point is that almost nothing of porn is problematic, and somehow it is the evil plaguing our world
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/22 04:25 AM

“Almost” was the key word in that sentence. Porn is about having an orgasm. Sex is about communication and making sure your partner feels good.

You’re right, but why not talk about dealing with porn addiction separate from porn abstinence?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/22 10:43 PM

Porn addiction is real, just like alcoholism. However, I would not tell someone to abstain from drinking simply because a (relatively) small number of people suffer from that.

Porn and sex are almost entirely unrelated.

Lots of things result in dopamine spikes. Are dopamine spikes something we ought to preclude from our partners?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/22 11:39 PM

Because it’s logically inconsistent.

So…. Watching porn isn’t a woman’s equivalent to watching porn????
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/22 11:55 PM

A woman’s “equivalent” to a man watching porn is posting pictures? You’re lost. Take a break from the manosphere please for God’s sake. I agree that it’s ridiculous for someone to dislike their partner watching porn, but having to make some weird connection to a completely unrelated activity to prove your point makes it sound like you have no justifiable grounds to support your argument.

Not sure how many times we need to say this, but UGLY WOMEN EXIST TOO! OP falling into the very trap he is accusing women of falling into.

Fair enough. I guess it’s a vague term. I was defining it the way r/femaledatingstrategy does. EDIT: Also, making $40k/year puts someone in the 98th percentile worldwide (adjusted for cost of living), and in the 40th percentile in the U.S.

It's honestly despicable how people's brains work. It's not altogether unjustified, considering the social conditioning in capitalism combined with the exacerbated wealth inequality which has been growing worldwide in the last thirty years, but it is sad nonetheless. By disparaging women who would choose 4, by OP's framing, you're precluding 90% of men and the vast majority of women from creating familial units. So it's not worth your time to marry someone who isn't in the 90th percentile of inc…

Exactly. "Best" is a designation which is very subjective both physically (do your bits mesh well -- vaginas, mouths, and anuses range in size just as much as penises or strap-ons; people have different kinks and turn-ons) and emotionally (do the partners vibe well, have similar libidos, etc.). Obviously there are components which are not debatable -- for instance, are they a good listener, do they want to please the other person, etc.), but comprise only a portion of the overall experience. Plu…

Hear hear! It's pathetic how decrepit our communication skills are culturally. By ghosting, you can waste days of precious time for the other person. "Will they finally respond? Would it be messed up to date someone else only _____ days after we last texted?"
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/22 03:09 PM
5

I disagree. I strongly prefer people who have slept with at least one person to people who have never slept with anyone. It's simply because I don't like wasting my time, and I've already been through the experimentation phase. I'm attracted to people who have their shit together, and know what they expect of themselves and others. Inexperience is not sexy.

In response to your take -- maybe in a liberal city, but in most places, the combination of a small dating pool and anti-gay sentiment, this is unlikely to be true.

I looked up papers on the topic through Google Scholar. The peer-reviewed research was methodologically and statistically sound.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/22 07:02 PM

Yeah I did more research, and I was wrong. I apologize. I assumed that the substitution effect would outweigh the scaling effect.

You think that prostitutes want to catch something? They'll enforce it/ be professional about it for their own safety.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/22 07:22 PM

Bro prostitutes get tested frequently. When was the last time your partner was tested?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/22 07:20 PM

You know that legal prostitution makes trafficking LESS likely, right? EDIT: After doing more research, I realize I was incorrect in this assertion.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/22 07:20 PM

I actually disagree. I think that the context of a brothel is sufficient to separate/ compartmentalize communicating with women for the purpose of soliciting prostitution and communicating with women for other reasons. It's possible OP would be BETTER about not sexualizing women.

Dang, US$170 "isn't too much?" Congrats on your professional success! An average date for me is like US$20. If a partner of mine suggested that we ought to do something which necessitated spending that much money, I'd definitely look sideways.

THIS! Exactly what I thought. A man repeats exactly what a woman says and is respected where the woman was not. Even if he cares for his wife, it can turn into benevolent sexism.

I’m from a family where that didn’t happen so maybe I’m a prisoner to hindsight bias. EDIT: Also, that’s kind of why I need to date. I need to thoroughly understand her character before I commit.

Jesus that’s bleak. I agree committed relationships are generally poorly portrayed and we have bad role models in pop culture. However, I date in order to find the best possible mother for my future children. If you don’t want kids, it doesn’t really matter I guess. EDIT: grammar

Um... what? Maybe a very, very small subset of people want to be dominated, but I'm guessing most people just want to be treated as people. Maybe the borderline abusive behavior was the impetus for infidelity?

I can tell you’ve been hurt in the past. I’m sorry about this. Unfortunately you’ve chosen to go the route of hurting other people so you don’t have to deal with your feelings. It is impossible to be in a sustainable relationship with another person without 100% trust in them. I firmly believe this. It seems like a fwb thing is better until you learn that there are shitty women and trustworthy women. Just like there are shitty men and trustworthy men. It seems like you’re determined to fall into…

I've seen so many of these types of posts, that there has to be a community out there for you. Statistically, there are overwhelming odds that you'll find someone with mutual attraction who feels identically to you in terms of commitment. Hang in there, you're still so young. I mean marriage and "commitment" is on the decline, but so is marital infidelity. I feel like people don't really change all that much over time, just cultural norms (which is mainly from the popular and powerful voices of …
