She needs to grow up and offer support financially and emotionally for her family. She is incredibly selfish, and you need to tell her to shit or get off the pot. You can’t allow her to make these decisions against the family for her personal reasons any longer as it is destroying any cohesion and security you could have had.

No you didn’t. You repeated your thoughts for yourself back to me.

No. We got no information from the OP about his friend. I had mine. These are genuine feelings. I am not pulling the shit out of thin air. You don’t know either, so I asked the OP why. You read it as condescending, that’s your fault, not mine.

Whatever dude. Getting a vasectomy is WAY fucking easier and way less invasive. Look it up.

Lol. I offer a genuine question and my opinion/advice and ppl get so butt hurt. We don’t know the whole context of the situation, just a friend’s view of it from his buddy’s telling of the story. Which will inherently be biased towards the man in this scenario. Please don’t respond unless you have actual things to contribute.

Lol. I already got one bro. You are dismissive on how his wife may feel. I understand it’s divorce men subreddit, but we shouldn’t be assuming his wife is a controlling bitch. Sorry you’re so scared of it. Must be tough to think about losing the only thing that makes you a man.

Insult him? I’ve had friends in healthy relationships not want to get it, because they “don’t feel like it”, but it is safer to do and quicker than a hysterectomy. Everyone jumping on my back cause I asked the alternative question, and it could provide some change to the relationship that is positive.

We aren’t getting any reason. We are getting secondhand info from a friend. Seems maybe he can consider the alternative person in the relationship also. Not that hard. Not everything is a manipulation tactic.

Why won’t he get one? I mean it takes away the chances of pregnancy and actually can open up the sex life more. I had one against my wife’s will cause I was done with kids at 40. Best thing I ever did. Couple days of watching movies with an ice pack and then you are good to go. Does he need to not do it for pride or something? Scared?

If that’s the case then he better start looking for apartments and get a lawyer. Idk if it to that point yet

I think sitting her down and talking about what the money means for the family. Express to her that you are proud of her for getting a job and contributing, and have excitement about the situation you are in now being debt free. Be excited about the things you all want to do together and for yourselves. I had to express how she got something that she wanted and then said ai have wanting to do this now. It seemed to work, but only after we went through the tough financial Times and got on the sam…

I need to say this. You need to ask yourself why you are checked out? Is it FOMO? Is it dead bedroom? Something else caught your eye? After kids, humans change. She definitely has. Walking on eggshells could be a factor that you haven’t changed and her expectations are now higher of you personally. Happened to me. Had to look inward before I looked outward.

Wife and I had female counselor that started to call her out on how she treated me. She said we needed a “warmer, more family oriented” counselor. This new counselor was nice, also female, but she o my heard my wife’s side of the story and how bad I was. We stopped going. Knew it would probably end eventually. It has not yet, but know that at anytime it could be over. Just have to be my best self, and make sure my complaints are heard by the heavens and not her, and will see how far we make it.

Never give in. Document her affair, document that she most likely brought a stranger into the home and put your kids in danger. Show to the judge. Explain how she threatened you using them as leverage to gain the house. She can’t win that easily, even with that silver bullet. Know also, that this fling she is having will assuredly end also and she will be in a really rough spot if she doesn’t get child support if you split 50/50. Just my opinion.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
