Vet a man during courtship by observing his actions towards you. A man who takes you out for dinner and pays for meals, buys you gifts here and there is a good sign. Basically spends money on you. I believe that men show their appreciation through actions by providing. A man who loves you spends financially on you, takes you out on dates. The kind of gifts he gives you also speaks to how much invested he is in you. I personally never paid on dates and i never did 50/50 during courtship. A woman …

Please take my advice as I was in a similar situation. I dated a guy with a female best friend that would send him selfies. They used to talk THROUGHOUT the day via text. He said he only saw her as his sister. But I couldn't get over it. I convinced myself it was OK for so long until I couldn't handle it anymore. I broke up with him and then met my husband who would NEVER ever do something like that. I sometimes look back and wonder what was I thinking. I learned that the guy I dated was not emo…

Was in a similar situation like you. The jealousy and prying into my past ruined my self esteem. Because nothing could be done to improve or change. Still recovering from that horrible experience. Worst part is that he had more extensive past than me. I would highly reccomend establishing strict boundaries in regards to this topic. Your past is your past. You dont owe anyone a detailed explanation of what happened. It is also not prudent to share details of your past, especially to someone who i…

Thank you for that, it's so helpful to hear a male perspective

yes that's exactly the situation, my family is less religious but I care for them very deeply. They are my main support system but it feels even more lonely because their advice is more of a critique of my values (in their opinion "I'm not practical" and "most guys don't want to talk about abortion")

Thank you for that. It gives me hope there are men willing to make such sacrifices. He doesn't want to continue our relationship knowing we have such different beliefs. Life is so tough, but I really thought he would make a wonderful husband and father. His primary argument is that he doesn't want the child to go through suffering and that he is not ready for that kind of experience.

This is where I was at. We have been having conversations over phone and text over the past few days. I explained to him I think it is wrong, but a difficult scenario where I'm unable to predict how I would react in that moment since I'm not in it. He thinks we have different opinions and that it's best to end it :(

wow what a difficult situation to be in and so brave of your parents to do that. Genetic testing is fine by me, but our difference in opinion lies on what to do. I lean towards keeping the child because I am against abortion though I am not 100% sure what I would do in that situation. For him, if the screening is positive, he would want to go ahead with the abortion.

If he says he is not ready, he is genuinely not ready, or he is not ready to commit to you. Either way it is a waste of time. Why be with someone who gives you half of his heart? You deserve someone's whole heart. Thank him for his honesty and move on. Been in a similar dynamic- it got so toxic and tore my self esteem. Once we broke up because he didn't want kids. He came back saying he changed his mind. Our last breakup was it for me, he ignored me for 4 days after an argument. He had told me h…

honestly my opinion is that you should focus on yourself at this moment, leveling up, becoming a better woman for yourself. Read more, exercise more, take care of your mental health, your nails and beauty, enjoy your life, pray. When you take care of yourself, you give more back to those around you. While your actions may have contributed to his feeling of neglect, you should not feel responsible for his betrayal. It's not fair to you to feel to have to feel like you need to save this marriage. …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
