| 3 | Is this legal?I'm certain there are a great many transpeople who haven't yet, or dont intend to, transition their appearance. If theres a bearer of a ticket who claims to 'be female' then that ticket should be accepted, no questions asked. There are, but to trivialize this into just 'deciding' to say you're a woman to get cheaper drinks is ridiculous. There is a difference between a non-transitioning transgender woman and a man who claims this identity to get cheaper drinks. I can't 'switch off' my transgende… | /r/MensRights | 06/12/13 08:09 AM |
| 3 | Is this legal?I'm saying that it is bad in that it uses women as bait to attract men, and also bad in that men are paying more for drinks. See my meaning? Discrimination can be multifaceted. If you don't want to take me seriously, thats fine. That was just one part of my post though, so if you can disregard my comment about transphobia and intersectionality based on my belief in misogyny, I don't really mind. | /r/MensRights | 06/12/13 07:48 AM |

We didn't start ladies night, it was started to try and attract women to bars (pretty much using them as bait to get men to come, so in a sense it is pretty misogynistic too) by bar owners who are mainly men. I feel like it does perpetuate a shallow view of what being transgender is: you can randomly 'decide' your gender to get the 'per… | /r/MensRights | 06/12/13 07:24 AM |
| -10 | Is this legal? As a trans woman, I'd rather they didn't do it, because it makes it harder to be taken seriously and perpetuates mocking/stereotyping of transgender people. But hey, downvote away because I'm not 'allowing' you to be transphobic. Also not a huge fan of people equating trans-firetrucks or whatever to transgender people below. But whatever, hey, circlejerk away guys. | /r/MensRights | 06/12/13 05:26 AM |
