Pleaseee block him for the sake of your own sanity!

One of my exes did that too and I never responded to it or even acknowledged receipt of it. That hurts their ego more than anything. I understand your pain because I was in the same position once. Tbh he probably wrote it to make himself feel better about all the shit he did to you. Please stay strong, you will get through this and cringe at the letter one day.

Girl I hope you dumped his ass! You deserve so much better and it sounds like you already have many great things going on for yourself.

If it’s during the early stages of dating, I usually just ghost and block. If they don’t have the decency to even give you a heads up that they’re going to be running late, they belong in the trash. But either way, I like my time respected and constant lateness is not something I’d tolerate.

I really really hope at one point, he got pepper sprayed.

That men don’t respond to words, they respond to no contact. Less is definitely more, no need to over explain yourself to a man. He’s not clueless, he knows what he did.

I was single for around 3 years and witnessing the shit that LVMs and NVMs put women through made me so glad I was single. It’s also very freeing to only have to think about yourself and what you want to do.

It’s hilarious how they think we’re after the free meals. I’d rather starve than hear a LVM run his mouth!

Read the handbook. This dude is trash, drop him. And you’re not obligated to give someone you’re not attracted to a chance.

Honestly it sounds like you’re making excuses for him and trying to gaslight yourself into staying in this relationship with him. A considerate man would not be posting shit like this. Leave him sis, you deserve better.

The fact that he felt no shame asking her to pay for his portion of the meal too 🤡 Glad she only paid for her own and won’t be seeing him again, BLOCKED.

A lot of men on OLD tend to be LVM of NVM. During the early stages of getting to know someone, aka those first few convos after you guys match, don’t immediately try to engage them in a thoughtful conversation as much as you want to. It ends up making you look too eager. Mirror THEIR efforts first and let the guy lead the conversation! If he’s a possible HVM, the conversation will naturally evolve into something more thoughtful and not just bullshitting back and forth.

That one guy’s comment “imagine having a cute little sex robot/girlfriend that will obey and be there for you like they are supposed to” - the entitlement of this incel makes me heave 🤮

No, your standards are not to high. Notice how he barely even contributed to the conversation. Usually if a man doesn’t bother asking questions in return or at least respond with something more conversational, I’d just go ghost. Why bother with someone who’s not even putting in the effort to do the bare minimum (texting).

Just block him and move on. No point in saying something and giving him the satisfaction that you care enough to reach out to him.

Personally I would just ignore her if possible. If she approaches you, then keep it cordial at a “hi” and avoid small talk if you can. They’re out of your life now so you really don’t have to give them any attention at all. I don’t think you should express your feelings to her since she’s probably going to go back and tell your NVM ex everything and nothing good will come out of it. Silence is definitely virtue in this case.

This is why I don’t believe in “closure”. If it’s done, it’s done.

I usually just tell them I’m not ready to have sex yet if/when they try to make a move. If he’s actually interested in me and not just sex then he’d respect that. If not, the trash took itself out. DO NOT tell them that there’s going to be “90-day wait” because then they can keep pretending to do and say all the right things until they get sex from you.

How do men not cringe when they write this type of shit 🙄

I second this. I regret spending so much time on guys back when I was 18 (and for the majority of my college years) when I could’ve directed that energy towards personal growth and to create more memories with close friends/loved ones.

Throw the whole man away 🙄 You deserve so much better than to be someone’s second choice!

Men always say we “expire” once we hit our 30s but most women who are in their early 30s - mid 30s still look amazing like they’re in their mid to late 20s. Meanwhile, a man starts looking worn down in their late 20s. It’s all downhill from there for the majority of them honestly.

Don’t reach out to him unless he reaches out first. The texts will obviously slow down since he’s on vacation but if he’s possibly a HVM and is interested in you, I don’t see why checking in with you here and there (like sharing some awesome travel pics with you) is too much for him to do.

If he says he’s not ready for a relationship then take it at face value. Sounds like he’s just trying to string you along now that he knows you’re interested by saying you guys should “strive to be best friends”.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
