Equality is not the same as identical treatment. But how do we measure equality? I'm not God, or an expert on the matter. Equality, in my humble opinion, is about fairness and giving people equal opportunities to pursue life, liberty, and happiness in whatever reasonable form that is. But due to the fact that we are all created differently, it's pretty difficult to completely treat us equally, and it's downright impossible to treat us all identically. I would just hope that we can get as close t…

No, you said: No...the stories and feminists you've met have tried to do that. And I told you that no, plenty of feminist leaders (See: Emma Watson) who I have absolutely not met say that. You were implying my evidence was anecdotal only, and I showed you it was not. Do you have some other point you're making?

I understand where you're coming from and as I said I'm sorry I didn't properly qualify my statements to avoid confusion. And I do consider myself a feminist. But that doesn't stop me from taking with feminism when it deserves it. But I also support eliminating double standards for men. As a man it's in my self interest to make everyone as equal as possible but I support equality for all not because I'm a man or because I have two important women in my life but simply because equality is right.

A group of three women who are feminists could be described as "feminists". I apologize that I didn't use the proper qualifier "some" before each of those so that you couldn't nitpick at every bit and piece. If you read the part about how I said "some" feminists hate men, and "some" feminists want equality for men and women alike, you could have used your brain to do some deductive reasoning to realize that I wasn't blanket stating all feminists want to include the male equality narrative. Since…

You're taking the words of a few and applying it to the whole group. Where exactly did I say that? Women have tried to rebrand feminism and specifically hardcore feminists have tried to rebrand feminism that way. I never said every feminist was trying to rebrand feminism that way. As I said, some feminists care about men's rights. Some feminists only care about women's rights. And other feminists actively hate men. I never applied that to all feminists. As for Emma Watson, she speaks for many fe…

I am just not sure who tried to convince you otherwise, but they are wrong. Pretty much one of the leading feminists right now Emma Watson, has tried to convince people of just that. That's egalitarianism. Why would you need a new word for it? Because as you say here: In my opinion, some people just shouldn't be able to participate in society on normal terms Which I agree with. Rapists for example, mass murderers, baby killers etc. should not fall have the same participation ability as a free no…

Confirming what /u/Sweet_T5 is saying. Most feminists lie about the movement being this sweet, wholesome civil rights group that cares for everybody, so that they can shut people up when they ask "but what about [other group]'s problems?". It helps feminism keep up the public image of being the agreeable, "right side of history" underdog type image, but in practice, feminism doesn't give a shit about most women's issues, let alone men's. I think it's unfair to lump them all together. As I said, …

Yes. Just because your anecdotal evidence has never encountered such a person does not mean they don't exist. Before you spuot ignorance, do your research please. Emma Watson is one of the biggest feminists with one of the largest platforms in the world currently. http://www.azquotes.com/picture-quotes/quote-men-think-it-s-a-women-s-word-but-what-it-means-is-that-you-believe-in-equality-and-emma-watson-89-29-32.jpg

No, there is no misunderstanding. You are the one misunderstanding. Feminists have been, especially recently, implying that feminism is about gender equality for men and women. Not just women. Which is simply not true. But feminists want to label feminsim as the fight for gender equality across all fields, when in reality feminism is specifically about women by virtue of it's definition. http://www.azquotes.com/picture-quotes/quote-men-think-it-s-a-women-s-word-but-what-it-means-is-that-you-beli…

Because women have tried to rebrand feminism as egalitarianism. Feminism specifically is for women in it's description, but if you ask a hardcore feminist like say.. Emma Watson, Feminism is for men too. Therefor they should care. But many of them probably don't, since feminism in reality depends entirely on the feminist. A feminist who hates men and a feminist who is an egalitarian are both feminists. Personally I think they need to just come up with a better term for "equality for all" because…
