Why are people living with ideas that we are obligated to someone if they do something nice for us? We can say yes or no to anyone.

The assumption would guarantee that he wouldn’t see her again. And to ask someone to spend time with them and then not follow through is crazy. It’s like offering a gift but asking for 50 percent of the cost and getting mad that someone accepted your gift without helping pay for it.

If someone asks a person out then no one should feel like a user for agreeing to spend their time with this person or obligated to do anything for them other than being kind, respectful, and pleasant company. Flip the script. If you asked someone out on a date and he/she did not split the bill would you be upset? Would you go to your friend and say “ I finally found the courage to invite John to go to xyz. I had fun and like him so much! But he did not reimburse me for the cost of the tickets/me…
