The law isn't always perfect, but the statistics say that it's almost always going to be on your side simply because of how you were born. You want to play the victim game? My own mother abused me for the first 21 years of my life. When I, as a sick, helpless teenager who had just battled for my life against a disease that kills more people than not, went to professionals for help because this woman who had all control over my life because I literally could not look after myself was beating the …

I am personally friends with men who have been drugged and raped by women before. Even with evidence there is no legal justice in those situations, so how could you think there might be in mine? I just watched someone very close to me finally escape a relationship with a woman who blackmailed him, physically attacked him, and deliberately pushed him to the brink of suicide several times. She still has the power when it comes to deciding what happens when the child she used to blackmail him is bo…

Because yes, I'm going to yell for help in a room of people who can already see exactly what's happening in plain view and find it fucking funny. This was not a discreet, out of view happening. This was right in the middle of a mildly crowded area where everyone was talking to each other. She did it several times, no matter how much I asked her to stop, before ANYONE stepped in. You may have security, the law and the general public on your side, but men being harassed by women do not.

Half of them weren't even that drunk. Apparently young men being harassed and made to feel uncomfortable by older women is just hilarious. Also, guarantee that police would have done nothing. Security were about and did nothing. I was only fortunate enough to know one of the bar staff who was out for a smoke and kind of vaguely told her to fuck off.

According to modern definitions, this is sexual harassment, though the time a woman tried to forcibly remove my clothing and touch me inappropriately in a bar while onlookers laughed was not, because she had a vagina.

Funny how when men worry about issues like false rape accusations being weaponised against them, biased family courts, the newly discovered enormous amounts of abusive women, and female pedophiles invading the education system and pretty much getting away with grooming and raping kids, it's never "time to realize that MAYBE it's women".

Grew up with an abusive mother. She only physically hit me a few times, but the damage she did to me mentally is going to take a lot more to repair.

You can still catch all of the diseases you could catch from normal blood from period blood. Not sure why it isn't treated more safely. We'd all like to think that someone with a bloodborne disease like HIV would be very careful with their tampons or pads, but there is literally no way of knowing.

What, the same site that stopped people from being able to rate the new Ghostbusters movie because the ratings got too low? No longer a reliable source in my eyes.

Let me just try to get my head around the logic here. Suicide rates rose a bit, somewhere kind of around the time that something that could maybe, potentially, be vaguely related if you make enough leaps of logic. Therefore, this is proof that all of psychology is wrong?

Any psychologist will tell you that keeping everything inside will destroy you. Nobody's saying men need to cry about everything and never get over it, but never being able to show any weakness is a great way to develop and exasperate mental illnesses. Lowering the epidemic rate at which men are killing ourselves is far more important than maintaining a desired image.

I've found that I'm actually physically incapable of crying now. Don't know exactly how it came about, or how to fix it.

Labia aren't even vaguely comparable to the foreskin. The foreskin holds the vast majority of the nerve endings in the penis, and is responsible for most of its intended function. The clitoral hood is the anatomical female equivalent of the foreskin. Except in women, the clitoral hood only really serves to protect the nerves of the clitoris from over stimulation and keratinisation, whereas in men, it protects the head of the penis in the same way, as well as providing the intended mechanical fun…

Have you ever noticed that type 1 and 2 are always put together in the 85% statistic? That's a form of data manipulation. Type 2 is only slightly more common than type 3. Type 1 in itself is data manipulation in how its presented, because the vast majority of type 1 FGM does not include removal of the actual clitoris at all, it almost entirely consists of partial or total removal of the hood, which is, perhaps, comparable to circumcision. (That said, the foreskin has more actual function and ner…

You honestly sound like an excellent parent who has your son's best interests in mind and a lot of motivation to learn and understand things that challenge your initial world view in order to do a good job of parenting, which a LOT of people don't have. Don't let other people's ignorance get to you, you're doing great.

It's disgusting how heavily normalised and even sexualised pedophilia in women is in society, to the point where something like this can happen in a public place and people won't respond to protect the children or teenagers involved. I'm sorry you had to experience that.

Because the law is fucked, and under the legal terms, in most of the world, a woman raping a man isn't considered rape unless she penetrates him with something. That law should be the primary target here.
/r/MensRights01/11/19 11:10 PM
3

This seems to be the myth, but every time I've been through comments on things like this, sure, there's been a few men saying those things, but it's generally mostly women joking about doing it themselves, talking about how a woman raping a man isn't the same as the opposite (mostly because men "always want sex"), claiming he was lucky and should have been grateful, or just other generally disgusting excuses for the rapist.

That's because most of the other kinds are labelled as FGC, not FGM for those purposes. Also, the VAST majority of FGM is voluntary, and type 1 is usually removal of the clitoral hood, not the clitoris.

Isn't the whole basis of Christianity that Jesus died so that people didn't have to worry about, like, 90% of things that Judaism prevents people from doing?

Actually, one Christian nutcase was the one who popularised MGM in America. The dude who made Kellogg's cornflakes. It wasn't really practiced in Christianity for centuries before then.

The most common form of extreme FGM is removal of the clitoral hood, second most common is the removal of the labia minora. Total removal of the clitoris is very rare. Also, what makes removing parts of a 10 year old child without anaesthetic worse than removing parts of a several day, week or month old child without anaesthetic? Also, the VAST majority of FGM is small cuts, pricks or piercings on the clitoral hood or labia minora.

Did you know that YMCA buildings in the UK have to have at least 50% women as a quota? For reference, women make up about 15-20% of homeless people in the UK. My building is about 75% women. They're way more likely to get given a place.

Even most "medically necessary" circumcision is done far too eagerly. In the majority of cases where circumcision is pushed as a treatment, alternatives like courses of stretching, creams, and even just a small vertical snip would work just fine. The view of circumcision as harmless and minor permeates society pretty deep.

I'm not voting for major parties anymore. I know it's not exactly the most useful thing, but I don't know what else to do at this point. At least in the UK if a good portion of other people are doing the same, we stand some chance of getting someone sane in power. Maybe.

Transgender people have existed since long before feminism, feminism just latched onto it all as a political tool, like they do with pretty much anything that might be useful to them.

I was with you until that last bit. Its feminists and the tiny (but admittedly vocal) portion of trans people who agree with their bullshit. The vast majority of trans people just want to use a normal bathroom in peace like everyone else.

Seriously, someone with such disregard for others should never be given that much power. Imagine. As a result of your- already irresponsible- actions, someone lost their kid. But instead of accepting and feeling guilty for your mistake, you choose to punish that person for DARING to point out said mistake, and set out to further destroy his life. That requires a total and deeply disturbing lack of empathy.

It depends, if its a total surprise or I feel like I'm in actual danger, I sometimes actually laugh like it's hilarious. Got attacked by a guy once and burst out laughing when he smacked me in the jaw. I imagine he was pretty confused.

A charge in which sentencing is completely at the judge's discretion and has a four year MAXIMUM in some places is definitely not what we want. It's already proven that women will generally get shorter sentences, we don't want female perpetrators getting a few months for a crime that men get years behind bars for.

For a start, "psychologizing" would explicitly imply that I'm analysing you psychologically. I highly doubt that just pointing out something stupid you said or your immature behaviour qualifies, and your usage of it doesn't suggest that you were using hyperbole. Seems like you just looked up "big word for telling someone they're stupid", and since the word you found wasn't big enough, you picked a vague similie without reading the definition. Also, the argument pyramid in itself is a fallacious …
/r/MensRights18/09/19 05:27 PM

Well, on account of the fact that you didn't even use said words correctly, I'd say they're probably longer words than would generally be found in your vocabulary.

Oh look, Google helped him to use big words! Unfortunately, it basically translates to "I can't come up with anything to say for myself, so I'm just going to make excuses instead." Good job though, buddy, at least you tried to use your brain. Maybe one day you'll get it right.
/r/MensRights18/09/19 05:03 PM

Perhaps that was a bad choice of words. You can express whatever views you like, but saying stupid shit like that isn't going to get positive reactions. What you're saying is exactly the kind of stuff we call out on this sub. Also, I love how when people disagree with you, your first thought is "Omg it's a conspiracy!" not, you know, that what you said is stupid. Grow up.

The main issue is, due to my living situation, I know a LOT of people with mental health issues, and out of the women, even the ones with mental health issues that would be considered "minor" (Don't like referring to it in that way, but basically, they're not really a danger to themselves or feeling like ending it all is an option) have received far more help than I or any of my male friends have. Supply the therapy these places promised, actually listen to what was wrong, show some vague hint of basic compassion? It was IAPT, the actual main, government funded organisation for mental health in my country. They sent me a follow-up letter with the names of some other organisations, all of which were either private services I couldn't afford (currently living in supported housing because I was homeless), or had a waiting list of over a year. Bearing in mind I have suicidal tendencies.

I've been going to my doctor, contacting organisations, everything I can find. I was stuck on a medication that actually made things worse for two full years because my doctor wouldn't listen to me. Guns give you less time to think and panic. Nothing else is that quick, easy and certain. If you try to suffocate yourself, you'll panic when you start losing air. Jumping and hanging requires you to motivate yourself to actually do it, it can be hard to take that final step. It's near impossible to get hold of a poison that's going to kill you with 100% certainty, and it's going to be slow and painful.

Does any of this take into account how reluctant men tend to be to report mental illness, and how reluctant mental health specialists tend to be when it comes to diagnosing and treating men? I feel like a lot of numbers are affected significantly by how society treats men.

Had a similar experience, I'm almost certain it was rohypnol or something along those lines. Good portion of my memory of the night is missing, I was in a state where I couldn't properly react and would just go along with whatever people said. Can this number actually help people? Are there qualified individuals on the other side? Resources are great, but it's important that if you're offering help for someone who's suicidal, you know exactly what you're doing, because one wrong move can basically just seal the deal.

Not talking about anything or seeing it as acceptable to express emotions is the reason so many men commit suicide. Mental health is real and being at war with your own mind is not something you can just shrug off and wait to go away. Predators and enemy tribes aren't what we're fighting anymore, and people don't deserve to suffer and die just because they don't uphold your standards of manliness.
/r/MensRights09/09/19 10:50 AM

So do I, and I'm not here going "I experienced this so it's true for everyone!" like your logic seems to be, I have a good set of friends as well but it's not something men tend to talk about. The prevailing message that sucking it up= good and emotionally reacting= bad is EVERYWHERE. It's a very prominent narrative in media, it's the basis of a lot of stereotypes, you can't really miss it.
/r/MensRights09/09/19 09:28 AM

It's great that you have a very supportive set of friends, but in western society as a whole, reacting to rejection emotionally is seen as immature and undesirable, something teenage boys will do but men will "grow out of".

When have you ever seen a guy emotionally reacting to rejection be considered okay? If he's sad, he's a big baby who didn't deserve her anyway because he's not "mature enough". If he's angry, even if he doesn't direct the emotion at anyone because he knows nobody is at fault, and deals with it healthily, he's an asshole incel. "Called on its bullshit" Because there is no bullshit. You literally just admitted it yourself. Why should we be bothered about how some people might take things completely out of context so that they can achieve a false sense of moral superiority? People here already call out assholes. I see exactly zero evidence of it happening right now. Any progress made recently has been VERY minor, and a sexist president that most of the population hates doesn't really count. Edit: Okay, can anyone provide ANY evidence at all that we're headed for a society that heavily disadvantages women? Or is this sub just in a weird point in its battle of being invaded with the far right and angry feminists? That's a pendulum I definitely see swinging lately. This sub did NOT used to be like this.

I mean, being coerced into sex isn't an unheard of concept. Things like blackmail and drugging exist, and those kinds of methods are most commonly used against men. Sounds like a one way ticket to setting back the recognition of female on male rape another century, perhaps even forever, as well as just being harmful to pretty much everyone.

Also, dude, have you ever met a child, like, ever? I mean, aside from the ones that you've destroyed mentally by coercing them to have sex with you.

Yay, using vague dictionary definitions and completely ignoring the expanded upon legal definition that applies in this particular situation! Aren't we smart! Here, maybe this will help. https://www.nhs.uk/about-the-nhs-website/professionals/healthandcareprofessionals/child-sexual-exploitation/documents/consent-information-leaflet.pdf That's the last you're getting from me because you are clearly too deep into your delusions to ever change, rendering pretty much anything I say pointless.

"Weeeh everything is a fallacy because I can't handle being wrong!!" If you want to play that game https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_fallacy Face it, if you're so far behind everyone else that you can't even grasp that children do not completely understand or seek out sex, and young teenagers generally do not understand its emotional and physical impacts and consequences enough to make an informed decision to consent, particularly with an adult, you need help. Maybe some intense psyc…

I don't need to make a "valid argument" for something that 95% of the developed world can figure out in 5 seconds of thought through common sense. You haven't won shit before you get all cocky about it, all you've done is make yourself look like an idiot and a sociopath in front of a wide audience, and expose yourself further for the disgusting person that you are. Nobody has anything to learn from you.
/r/MensRights22/08/19 06:01 PM
2

Right. You're not just a sick fuck, you're pedantic, delusional and lacking in reading comprehension as well. This conversation is pointless and therefore over, I hope that you get locked up for something else before you start translating your fucked up opinions into real life actions.
/r/MensRights22/08/19 05:25 PM
2

Dude, face it, nobody wants it to be legal to be a pedo, and you're some kind of sociopath. Acting like I'm being unreasonable doesn't change that. If someone rapes a minor (it is rape, since a minor cannot give informed consent) they are clearly a danger to children in the future due to their motivation to do the same again. Therefore, they need to not only be discouraged from doing so again, but prevented, through separation from children, making other members of the public aware of their hist…
/r/MensRights22/08/19 03:44 PM

Dude, you're obsessed with it, and basically ignore the entire concept of consent for your delusion that kids can completely understand sex. From the looks of it, you don't even just want to lower them, you want to remove them completely. Your dream world is one where you could fuck a 4 year old without any social or legal repercussions. That says pretty much anything anyone needs to know here.
/r/MensRights22/08/19 03:14 PM

Gender critical feminism and TERFs have been around longer than the Internet has. Its very real, and, as indicated by their name, trans exclusionary radical feminists are just radical feminists (or pretty standard ones really, at this point) who believe that trans women are just evil men trying to get into their safe spaces.
/r/MensRights22/08/19 03:11 PM
2

I mean, the fact that almost everything you've ever said on this account is about how it should be legal to fuck kids is pretty strong evidence. Your arguments don't stand on their own because anyone with two brain cells to rub together and no desire to rape a minor knows that kids don't have the understanding to have sex with an adult, and are not capable of making an informed decision and therefore giving informed consent.
/r/MensRights22/08/19 02:55 PM

I, as a teenager, spent 3 months in hospital, a couple of weeks of that in intensive care. At one point, they told my parents I wouldn't make it through the night. Not once did they consider that the experience might mess with me mentally. My mum got therapy, I didn't.
/r/MensRights08/08/19 02:36 PM

I literally only just got the correct medication the other day after nearly a decade battling with the mental health service. No therapy or other long term help, but I guess at least I have a medication that will stop my brain from being an unbearable mess.

I think you might have missed the point of correlations entirely
/r/MensRights08/08/19 11:31 AM

Dude, face it, you're full of shit and everyone else thinks so. Everything you've said is stupid, and you're still not doing yourself any favours. As long as you don't start implementing your beliefs, it doesn't matter if you think it's okay for minors to have sex or not, the laws aren't going to change because of one idiot on the Internet.
/r/MensRights01/08/19 12:24 AM
2

No, not to be full of myself or anything, but I'd like to think I'm a fair bit more intelligent than you are. I actually know that consent laws and the age of consent exist for a reason, and that fucking kids is wrong, so I must be doing considerably better already.
/r/MensRights31/07/19 11:51 PM

You used a 10 year old as an example when you were comparing driving to consent laws. The comment was pretty self explanatory.

/r/MensRights31/07/19 03:25 PM

I'd say it's a pretty logical conclusion, if you're so eager to justify 10 year olds having sex. But hey, insults negate anything the other person says, right?
/r/MensRights30/07/19 09:36 AM
1

Then what are you trying to say?
/r/MensRights27/07/19 10:03 PM
1

No, also the age of consent isn't even 18 here. But I think it's reasonable to say that a 13 year old isn't old enough for sex, especially with an adult
/r/MensRights26/07/19 11:18 PM
2

If you're not just here to mess with people, you really, really need to see a psychiatrist or a neurologist. Couldn't say myself what's wrong, but there's definitely something.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 06:36 PM
3

I feel like you might be in desperate need of medical attention.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 06:19 PM
2

1: Some do, some don't. 2: Not really. A 17 year old is above the age of consent in the vast majority of the world, and an 18 year old bring attracted to a 17 year old is not an adult being attracted to a child. 3: Yes, that is illegal pretty much everywhere. Still don't see how any of this is relevant, though.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 06:16 PM
3

Again, no fucking clue what relevance this has to anything else I've said, or what point you're even trying to make
/r/MensRights26/07/19 06:11 PM

No, nothing you say makes sense and you're obviously either really, painfully stupid, have a near nonexistent grasp on the English language (in which case I might have some understanding) or this is a joke.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 06:05 PM
3

No like, it's not even just the grammar. I really cannot understand what point you are trying to make, either. There doesn't seem to BE a point. Reading your comments makes me feel like I might be having a stroke.

Are you a troll? Please tell me this is a joke
/r/MensRights26/07/19 05:52 PM

Islam is very much not good for men's rights, there are plenty of things that men do ould get killed for whereas women get less harsh punishments. Still not great for women, but not amazing for men either. Also, if your only proof is that one messed up guy is part of a men's rights group, therefore all men's rights groups are like that, you're full of shit. As you might notice, nobody here agrees with him. On the other hand, you seem to be almost every kind of awful person under the sun, so I do…
/r/MensRights26/07/19 05:16 PM

/r/MensRights26/07/19 02:30 PM

What?
/r/MensRights26/07/19 02:11 PM
3

You seem pretty okay with people raping kids, never met someone who's okay with it who doesn't do it themselves. Either way, you're a disgusting person and shouldn't be allowed near minors.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 01:36 PM

/r/MensRights26/07/19 09:46 AM
1

True, but not required.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 09:45 AM
3

No, this is still statutory rape.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 01:29 AM
3

Most 13 year old boys have barely started puberty, if at all. Puberty is the defining factor in the distinction. This woman is a pedo.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 01:29 AM
4

The amount of people who unironically think this is physically painful.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 01:26 AM

I didn't twist shit. I reacted to the exact words you said. Fuck off with that bullshit. By the looks of it, you've never even used this sub before. You guys come here to stick up for pedo just because they're women, and you're sick.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 01:01 AM
2

This is the second time you've told me that you haven't said what you LITERALLY JUST SAID. Yeah, you're a broken record, a fucked up and outright incorrect one. I don't want you to try to explain anymore, you clearly think it's at least sometimes okay for an adult to rape a 13 year old, and you're a fucking disgrace.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 12:52 AM
2

So, you think a 13 year old wont be harmed by an adult (especially one with power over him) "having sex" with him. Yep, definitely a pedo apologist. You're disgusting.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 12:46 AM
2

Except statutory rape does harm someone. A minor may think they want it, but they don't understand sex and aren't prepared for it, which is why they can't consent. When an adult dies that to a child, it can fuck them up for life. It's definitely just as harmful.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 12:42 AM
3

You didn't just say they weren't the same thing, you said that sex with an underage kid isn't rape. That's being a pedophile apologist. I'm glad you're realising your mistake, though.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 12:34 AM
5

100% rape. Non consentual sex is rape.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 12:16 AM
6

"You guys"? I'm not even from America. And "having sex" with a 13 year old is still rape here because that's what it is. Sex with someone who cannot consent is rape. Pedos belong behind bars, and they deserve to stay there for a very long time, just like other rapists. All you're doing by contesting that is excusing criminals, and so far you've said nothing that disproves that.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 12:15 AM
5

Non consentual sex is rape. Children cannot consent. This is rape.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 12:11 AM
6

The age of consent in most countries, even most states, is 16. There's a big difference between a 13 year old and a 16 year old. Stop defending pedophiles.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 12:06 AM
6

We're not talking about a 16 year old, are we? Where did you pull that number from? Your ass I'm guessing.
/r/MensRights26/07/19 12:01 AM
7

Yeah, I know. The distinction is important, but statutory rape is still rape in that a child cannot consent. You see a lot of people excusing it here, and I think that's disgusting.
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:59 PM
2

Oh no, people here don't like pedos! What horrible people we are!
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:56 PM
6

This guy probably rapes kids. Only reason to excuse this bullshit.
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:55 PM

Do you think it's okay to fuck a 12 year old? Is that consentual sex to you?
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:54 PM
-1

Not the left, just feminists.
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:53 PM
3

Pedophiles deserve worse, not better. And before anyone starts with the "hebophile not pedophile!!!" bullshit, most 13 year old boys have barely started puberty, if at all. They're kids. The only reason you have for making that distinction is if you have a reason to excuse raping 13 year olds. Kids might say they want something because they think it'll make them cool or grown up, but they don't. A kid cannot understand or consent to sex.
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:52 PM
3

The place where you can get downvoted for calling a rapist a rapist.
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:50 PM
13

A 13 year old is a CHILD. Doesn't matter if their age is double figures, they're not mentally or emotionally mature enough to consent to sex. In a case of an adult male doing this to a 13 year old girl, most of the country would be calling for blood. Why is it different for a boy?
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:49 PM
7

I hope she gets put on the sex offenders register and has to suffer for what she's done for the rest of her life.
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:47 PM
10

Kids cannot fully understand and consent to sex or the potential consequences. This woman will have damaged this kid for life, same as any other rape victim. Rape is rape, and pedophiles deserve worse if anything.
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:45 PM
11

My baby brother is turning 13 in a few months and I can guarantee that he couldn't fully understand a real sexual relationship (kids joke around and hear stuff from other kids and the internet, but they really do not understand the real thing) let alone the potential consequences. If an adult woman so much as touched my brother sexually, I would happily take a life sentence for killing her. No questions asked.
/r/MensRights25/07/19 11:43 PM
4

I'm pretty sure the law on rape is the same in the US, if I'm not mistaken. It seems to be an issue pretty much everywhere.
/r/MensRights25/07/19 09:34 AM
8

There's no shortage of proof to put on the list, that's not the problem here. The problem is that there's nothing we can do with the list. The list is useless. Nobody is going to prosecute or change the BBC, because the BBC is above the law. It's a pretty serious issue. But hey, I guess we're fighting back in some way. I don't think I know anyone who pays their "TV license", and it's already been pointed out that it's not actually illegal not to.
/r/MensRights23/07/19 10:23 PM

Emphasise the "stale" on that one. She's basically the personification of a slice of bread that someone left out until it went all crispy. For the record, I think they're both pretty shit, but it definitely doesn't have anything to do with race or gender. They're just bad at what they do.

/r/MensRights23/07/19 02:52 PM

From what I've seen, their "mens rights" is actually a very gynocentric, carefully controlled version of the subject as a token "Hey, we care about men too, see?" that doesn't really hit on major issues, BECAUSE they conflict with feminist ideology, which simply isn't allowed. Again, men's rights is very concerned with feminism by nature, because there is a LOT of conflict of interest, and feminism is bigger and more powerful. For example, if you wanted to discuss, say, the empathy gap, or how w…

How exactly is there a lack of diversity, for a start? Can you prove the demographics of the sub, somehow? Also, you've basically just ignored everything I've said because it doesn't suit you. Also, I feel like what you linked is not only biased, but pointless. Menslib is not a men's right sub, it's a male feminist sub. They're not ALLOWED to properly discuss men's rights, because Feminism in its current form actively opposes men's rights and the discussion of it. Maybe compare the language here…

Can you in any way prove to me that the majority of content here is "hateful shit"? Or is disagreeing with you hateful? Because that's the impression I'm getting on your view of this sub. I'm pretty sure I've already pretty thoroughly discussed why opposition to feminism is a big part of the MRM. Its not hatred towards women, its because feminism as a movement is genuinely harmful to both men and women. It's the number one reason why there HAS to be an MRM, in fact, because equality to most of s…

The way you put your opinions across makes a big difference. At first you did come across as a troll, because you weren't trying to understand the views of others, just putting across your own as the sole truth. How can you expect people to listen to and try to understand you when you don't do the same? Also, large amounts of disagreement don't make an echo chamber. If you put down sources and facts proving your opinion, and the same thing happened, that would be an echo chamber. As it stands, y…

They were already there, but the way I see it, feminism enforces them pretty strongly. There was a point where as a movement, it tried to oppose them, but when a movement is largely about proving victimhood, and that becomes the sole focus, it causes a lot of harm. Feminism tells women that they are less safe and respected than they actually are, so they react accordingly. The resulting anger is also a big component in supporting lack of empathy towards men, to the point where supporting additio…
/r/MensRights23/07/19 06:31 AM

Haven't really seen any hostility to your opinion, just disagreement. The only hostility happening seems to be when you start throwing accusations and personal attacks for people disagreeing with you. Feels like you need to adapt to opposing opinions yourself, and learn how to react to them reasonably. Props on you for stepping out of the echo chambers, though. Not a lot of people do that.
/r/MensRights23/07/19 06:24 AM
10

See, I don't feel like those are just 1940s views, because they've developed and been enforced in modern times, funnily enough, largely by feminism. Suggestions to make the legal term of rape gender neutral have been pretty strongly opposed so far. By the way, there isn't a club. People here don't exclude others because of dissenting opinions, they just don't necessarily agree with them. There's a difference. You're not going to get banned because of agreeing with feminism.
/r/MensRights23/07/19 06:21 AM
10

If there weren't any truth to what I'm saying you wouldn't even be wasting so much of your time would you. That works both ways. If your views aren't so threatened by those discussed here, then why are you here arguing with people? This obviously isn't a debate, it's an argument. You're not discussing views, you're attacking people. If you state an opinion, people are allowed to disagree. That's the nature of discussion. You aren't owed all around agreement or silence. You willingly opened yours…
/r/MensRights23/07/19 06:15 AM

I think we've moved on quite thoroughly from "old 1940s ideology about gender". In which ways do you think that we haven't, if you don't mind me asking?
/r/MensRights23/07/19 06:07 AM
10

Just understand that stating an opinion without backing it up doesn't entitle you to people listening to or agreeing with you. It doesn't reflect negatively on this sub that you're getting downvoted or disagreed with, because you haven't presented anything that actively disproves or opposes anyone's opinion. Also, calling someone an extremist simply for disagreeing with you isn't particularly mature or reasonable.
/r/MensRights23/07/19 06:04 AM
11

Having an actual debate and challenging your own opinions as well as those as others is healthy. Throwing your opinions around and calling everyone who disagrees a shitty person is not. It doesn't achieve anything except for helping you to develop a superiority complex.
/r/MensRights23/07/19 05:59 AM
9

I mean, I'd say that claiming that men are inherently the perpetrator in situations like domestic abuse, inherently behave aggressively, don't deserve bodily autonomy and are oppressive by nature is an extremist opinion, and judging a political stance by the actions of its main leaders is not. But hey, maybe that's just me not being delusional.
/r/MensRights23/07/19 05:52 AM
10

No, the problem here is that you're not providing solid, sourced facts. You can't prove that you're right, so nobody is going to just believe that you are.
/r/MensRights23/07/19 05:46 AM
10

You're not playing any game if you aren't contributing anything. Discussions don't happen if nobody contributes. Come back when you have facts, statistics and a point, and maybe people will listen.
/r/MensRights23/07/19 05:41 AM
12

Then why are you here, trying to argue? If you have nothing to say that we can't just "find on Google", then what's the point in saying anything? You either stick up for your view, or you don't. We're not going to just listen to you say something, and suddenly go "Oh yeah! You must be right, you typed it out on the Internet!"
/r/MensRights23/07/19 05:35 AM
11

When all of the facts about feminism show that as a movement, it is far more willing to make life shittier for men than to make it any better, how is denying that NOT stupid or insane? And I'm pretty sure people are allowed to be pissed off that one of the world's leading political movement is spawning hatred, miseducation and even actual harm.
/r/MensRights23/07/19 05:31 AM

It would gain a LOT of viewership, which means the women's team would gain lots of revenue? If they get even close to the number of viewers of a normal men's team match, then the women, with their higher percentage of the revenue, would be in with a fortune. And the viewers would get entertainment. Its win/win, it's not like they're going to die from a football match.

Politicallycharged pages are usually only edited by people with an agenda. I'm betting that pages like the one on violence against women have a lot of questionable sources that nobody will ever remove because it helps their point. The only women that would be discouraged from reporting rape would be ones making false accusations. To be convicted of a false accusation, it would have to be proven intentionally false. On the other hand, lots of men have been sent to prison for a rape that was later proven to have not happened, so the system clearly favours the women anyway.

Sometimes, not being the direct victim of the points put across puts you in the position to be way more objective, observant and rational about them. It's a good chance that if women have noticed men's rights issues and care about them, they've already done a lot of research to make sure their view is correct before jumping into the debate based on personal experience. Female MRAs are very valuable members of the community in that sense.

Age of consent is 16 in a lot of places, including the UK and a good portion onlf the US. 18 is actually pretty high as far as age of consent goes. However, as someone else mentioned, being in a position of authority usually either makes it statutory rape no matter what, or raises the age of consent by quite a lot.

Yeah, you said that they can't use the term "rape" because it's not appropriate. You should probably make a habit of re-reading the comment that's being replied to. Legally, this would 100% be considered rape if the perpetrator were male, and I explained why, as well as pointing out that articles wouldn't avoid using the term even without an actual conviction.

In this particular situation, no, age is not involved. Still very much immoral and illegal for someone to do that to someone they are in that kind of position of power over, though, especially when the students were special ed students. But in the situations where the students are underage but not technically children, if calling the women who prey upon students pedophiles is what it takes to get them seen as the disgusting sexual predators they are, I'm all for it.
/r/MensRights27/05/19 05:55 PM

The media uses it before charges are officially pressed all the time when the perpetrator is male. Also teacher-student "relations" are illegal regardless of age due to one party being in a position of authority over the other.

You want to, though. That's the point. I don't understand why you would deliberately want someone to have fewer rights just because you don't have the same. I'm not brainwashed, I've done my only research and a section of my medical science course covered the subject too. Also, reflexes and muscle movement isn't the same as a fully functioning brain, most estimates say that senses and complex brain functions don't start until the third trimester or close. Losing a baby that is wanted and has been worked hard for is much different to an abortion. People get emotion…

Dude, people have sex. It happens. Some people are never ready to have a child, that's life. You can't tell people to never have sex. And I'm not having this whole conversation again, but at the point elective abortions happen, it's not a child, it's a bundle of cells. It doesn't even have a functioning brain.

neither have any children with less than 2 yrs. Guess you're going to have to admit that humans aren't alive any earlier than other animals, then. The examples don't fit because they're all based off of your arguments, which simply don't work in any context. You're starting to realise that, so now, instead of admitting that you're not right about everything, you're going to behave like a child, declare that I'm mean and wrong because you said so, and storm off.
/r/MensRights23/05/19 05:06 PM

And that all stems from our self awareness, and, by extension, ability to produce thoughts outside of basic survival. Again, something a fetus doesn't possess. Biologically, we are still the same as every other animal. We don't have some unique biological trait that makes us considered alive earlier than other animals.
/r/MensRights23/05/19 04:57 PM

Please, do explain to me all of the ways we are "at another level, never matched by others animals". Or not, seeing as you've basically just admitted you're not capable of backing that up in any way, since it is a 100% relevant progression of the conversation. It would do you a great deal of good to learn to admit when you're wrong.

Not being sociopathic over other people's decisions is an option too, but I doubt it's one that humanity will ever be able to pull off, at this point.

Well if human life is defined by the existence of human DNA, then technically a dead body is still alive 10 minutes after medical death, because cells are still metabolizing. And why are humans any different in whether they are alive or not than any other animal? The only real defining feature we have is our self awareness, and we don't even have senses until at least week 8 of gestation as a generous estimate, so...

They wanted to give birth to the baby, whether or not they wanted to keep it or not. If, for whatever reason, the mother isn't in the mindset where she wants to go through that, she definitely shouldn't be forced to. There are plenty of people who have bad mental or physical health, are too young, can't deal with it financially, have bad family or relationship situations that could make the whole experience more unpleasant, etc. Pregnancy can have a massive impact on someone's life whether they …

Birth control doesn't always work. Accidents happen. You don't get the right to force someone to go through 9 months of difficulty and the pain of childbirth just because you can't wait until your partner wants a kid too. Don't you think that carrying a child they don't want will cause someone more trauma than having to wait until next time?

You're putting it like someone's suddenly going to decide to abort at week 28. That's 7 months into a 9 month pregnancy. Nobody is going to just decide to get an abortion at that point when they've had 7 months to make that decision, and I'm also pretty sure elective abortion at that point isn't legal anywhere. Of course, if it turns out that the fetus is going to seriously suffer after being born, won't survive the process, or birth will be dangerous for the mother, that's completely different.…

What most doctors would consider actual thought or ability to sense (activity in the cerebral cortex) only starts in the third trimester, around week 28, at which point abortions are incredibly rare and only really happen because of complications. It's safe to assume that anyone who made it to week 28 wants to have that child, and is going to be really upset to lose it. For reference, the largest portion of abortions happen before week 8, and 91% happen before week 13.

Feminists don't want to listen to men, because the whole 3rd wave feminism movement (and to some degree, every wave) is built around the idea that women have it much worse than men do. If that's taken away by accepting that men have their own issues and women don't have the overall short straw, it would tear down 90% of the ideology around the movement. It's about 90% TERFs. Good luck dealing with one of the most notoriously aggressive, irrational and baseless political standings of the 21st century. This is an ideology responsible for a significant amount of actual violent hate crimes by its members, and it's probably important to remember that.

Feminists pushed to raise "diversity" quotas, because being an organisation that effectively dealt with a homeless population that is more than 75% male is apparently sexist. I'm not entirely sure what you're saying, but feminism has a pretty firm grip on everything. They couldn't be happy that the YMCA started taking women when necessary (despite women's shelters being plentiful) there now has to be at least 50% women per block.
/r/MensRights13/05/19 04:42 PM

Look at what happened to the YMCA. Thats a great example of forced diversity taking resources away from those who need them. Forced diversity never stops at inclusion, people who push it only settle for full control.

I'm currently living in a YMCA. It's not the YMCA anymore, though, it's the Y, and each block now has to have at LEAST 50% women. You know, despite men making up more than 3/4 of the homeless population. Funnily enough, they don't care if its MORE than half women. Which it is.

It's not a mental disorder because it can't be treated through therapy or medication. It's physically ingrained into the brain, and can only be treated by easing the symptoms, ie. changing the body to relieve the distress that comes with the mismatch from the brains expectations. Except she doesn't want more seats at the table, she does actually want seats taken away from the people she considers there to be too many of, and given to others. The point isn't the pay gap itself, there's almost definitely valid reasons behind it. The point is the fact that a 5-10% or so pay gap when women are statistically earning less is apparently horrific discrimination, whereas to the same people, this is perfectly fine. Really shows that they're willing to accept that these things happen for actual, non-discrimination reasons... when it benefits them.

Blame the idiot parents for that bullshit, don't take away medical treatments that can actually improve people's quality of life to the point where it's livable. Most clinics won't even give appointments to anyone under the age of 16, let alone give them any treatments. I'm sure you're not going to see the logic in that, because it's not what you want to hear. I don't think there's a single case of anyone under the age of 16, probably not even under 18, being legally given any form of gender rea…

You probably won't even notice half of the ones claiming to be non-binary unless they tell you (which they will if you make the mistake of talking to them), they generally just blend in as your typical third wave feminist. Most of them don't change a thing and just get people to call them different pronouns and/or a different name, and make a big deal of it whenever possible. But yeah, trans women are far more common statistically in the population of people who actually do have gender dysphoria…

The people who claim to be trans for a trend don't have gender dysphoria. They just for some reason think that making up genders to excuse not fitting gender roles will somehow destroy them instead of just enforcing and making more of them. Also notice how they're pretty much ALL women "transitioning" to some "non binary" gender, which means they don't have to do anything different or change anything about how they present themselves. They're never actually going to take hormones or have surgery…

I love this sub in 90% of situations, there's usually plenty of open mindedness and blind hate generally isn't tolerated, but there's way too much of a circlejerk around trans people here. It makes it impossible to actually explain and make people realise that it's not just a case of doctors letting people get chopped up because they feel like it, because there's always a swarm of assholes ready to scream their uneducated opinions because since half of the trans community has gone toxic and side…

To be honest, all this slacktivism is still based in the same ideology as the people putting time and effort into destroying the lives of others over imagined slights against women and other "fashionable" minorities (although women aren't actually a minority). Exactly. Feminism isn't liberal. Liberal is the moderate left. Feminism is extremism on the same level as marxism- it revolves around censorship and mass control of the thoughts and speech of the population. Normal, rational people don't think like that, and don't think it's okay. The issue is that people now act like that kind of behavior is acceptable, and that's truly terrifying.

Since when was it outdated? There was never actually any solid evidence that it was caused by hormone therapy, that's just internet speculation. There's no evidence that sex hormones can change the brain's structure after puberty, and most of biology would suggest otherwise. While, yes, there's some innate mental differences between the sexes... there is literally nothing about them that would actually make you the opposite gender. They are only statistical differences, and personal range is not…

There are no "neurons related to gender identity". Gender dysphoria is, however, caused by the brain developing to closer resemble the structure of the opposite sex to their birth sex, as confirmed by several medical studies. It's also the official diagnosis of being trans. It's what being trans IS. There is no other innate component to gender than biological sex. What you like doesn't make you a certain gender, and your personality doesn't make you a certain gender. What you are describing is…

Yeah, a lot of it is pretty fucked up. When the prominent view is that gender dysphoria, the thing that actually makes someone trans, is transphobic... you know that things have gone horribly wrong. I'm more worried about the younger guys who are only just figuring things out and have nowhere to look to realise that they're not the only one going through this, and nowhere to seek out support when they need it or receive pointers on where to actually start with the medical system.

I've actually been here for quite a while, and the majority of the people I've encountered have been fine, and I'm pretty sure that will be the general atmosphere, but I was still a little bit worried in case making a big thing of it wasn't received well.

You don't survive off of chickpeas and lentils though, do you? You live off of veggie burgers and fortified foods. You're acting like you're the same as the people you're fighting against... But you're not. You just can't stand that you aren't the morally perfect, victimised person you think you are. 90% of my diet is bread and potatoes, because that's what I can afford. Most additional nutritional comes from the cheap meat and occasional vegetables I can afford. That's what being lower class is…

If you want to claim that you are correct and everyone else is wrong, you have to be able to defend it. Again, you're arrogant for believing, despite none of your arguments actually having ANY solid proof, and many reasons why it is incorrect, that you are unquestionably correct. Your main issue here is that you think everywhere is like America, you have a very limited, self centered world view. Generally people here refuse to purchase any meat that isn't locally sourced, and all major fast food chains have made promises to provide exactly that. No, you're called arrogant for acting like you're the only one with a moral compass.By the way, the only meat I eat is sourced in THIS country... full stop. I wish we could get the people pushing all of the credit on the guy to understand that not only are they wrong, but they're harming the credibility of the cause. It's already hard to get people to understand where we're coming from as it is, without people painting us as basically as rabid as feminism from the inside. Everything we do will always be seen as many, many times worse than if feminists did it.

Women who "choose" to be lesbians (usually bi women who refuse to date men, but sometimes straight women who make themselves go out with women, too) are a notably sized thing in feminism. These people really don't care how their ideologies harm others, just that it does what they want.
/r/MensRights14/04/19 09:47 AM

These people are so unbelievably, painfully toxic. It's like they physically cannot handle being told that this woman didn't do everything, even when all of the evidence is right there. One of their excuses is that the men on the team "don't care", or support all of this. But what are they going to do? Receive all of this backlash? I didn't say that, did I? We probably wouldn't be farming very much less soy if we stopped farming animals, because we would still actually only want/be able to actually eat nearly the same percentage of it. 85% of it is used for animal feed... but that's because 85% of the crop isn't "fit" for human consumption. We are ridiculously picky about what we eat. Not to mention that modern farming of plants kills millions of small animals anyway, through pest control and deforestation. Not to mention the amount of pesticides that it releases into the environment. Soy is one of the worst crops for this, too, and is a staple of the vegan diet. So, the real question is, do you want to eat the animals killed on your behalf, or pretend that they don't exist?

I don't think I've even seen one in supermarkets I go to, but they're not ridiculously priced in England, just a very unreasonable price for what you get. £1 for a single small fruit? I could afford to eat one or two every now and then, but it definitely wouldn't be worth it.

On the other hand, feminists do often support it, which is massively hypocritical. Apparently, women's bodies are their own, but men's bodies should be made to be exactly how women like them. And women in America only like circumcised penises because that's what they've been told is normal.

Don't forget that women often don't WANT to take these high status jobs, because they require a lot of commitment that makes expanding their lives outside of work nearly impossible. If a woman even has a slight idea that they might want kids in the future, they know that all of the time off for pregnancy and the lack of time they'll have to spend with their children make the two totally incompatible, so they'll probably avoid applying for it.

I've always been a little skeptical of NSPCC anyway. All of their advertisement is centered around girls. Might just be cashing in on the empathy gap, I doubt they actually refuse to help male children, but weirder, more messed up stuff has happened.

It's definitely Disney. Their older stuff obviously doesn't follow the feminist view of "strong female characters" but they definitely tried to make their image more appealing to the far left recently. I just hope they don't ruin Deadpool now that they own parts of Fox.

The thing is, yeah, bigger businesses do tend to be male owned. Men in business generally push for MORE. More profits, more stores, more money. They either thrive and grow, or fall through from too many failed gambles. Smaller businesses, like amazon sellers, are generally female dominated. Women tend to be more happy keeping their business small.

(Thanks to u/SamHanes10r for compiling these tables.) Wasn't there a study a few years back (like, 2012) by a major organisation that showed that women actually commit slightly more sexual crimes than men do, and "forced to penetrate" is about 5 times as common as legally defined rape? Of course, it got brushed under the rug because its not what people want to hear.

Abusive relationships are obviously hard to deal with, but wouldn't a parent who actually cares about their child place them with the other parent, while their own home is a dangerous place, if it was an option? But then, I know plenty of women who would literally rather their child get abused than give them up to their dad.

Okay, let's put this into better context, if you're even going to listen to reasoning that goes against your own world view at all. I could make a joke about a totally hypothetical murder. Unfortunately, it's the people who do decide to claim racism that get listened to. We still live in an age where in a lot of cases, respecting people's religion is considered more important than respecting human rights, and it's pretty likely that people from within a religion who go against its principles will be rejected by their family and community.

Even that's not so black and white, because the foreskin contains the majority of the nerve endings in the penis, whereas the clitoris actually continues much further under the skin than the part which is seen and which is removed in clitoridectomy, which is essentially the tip. FGM doesn't always remove the ability to orgasm, and circumcision can make a man unable to orgasm in some cases. They're really not that easy to compare in terms of severity, since everyone's genitals are different.

But FGM is banned even though it's a religious practice, and there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that circumcision has any benefits when it comes to STIs, or anything else really.

If you ever have a daughter, suggest to your wife that the baby have her clitoral hood removed. See how that goes down. Or don't, because even the suggestion as a non-serious comparative statement would probably get you arrested.

It does, it's basically democratic censorship. Downvoted comments go to the bottom, and if a comment gets enough downvotes, it will be hidden. People are actually psychologically more likely to disagree with someone that they can see the majority of other people disagreed with.

Not really. As long as you don't let it get too hot or scratch the non-stick coating, nothing gets stuck or burnt on, so the most it really needs is a good wipe with soap and a wet cloth or sponge, and a rinse with hot water. Although the one I have is a bit bigger and more shallow, which probably makes it easier to get into the corners.

Exactly. If the guy said up front that he has no intention to have a kid, the woman then has that information when she decides to keep the kid or not. At that point, if she decides to keep it, that's her choice and responsibility, and the man has no obligation to provide for that child.

Just recently, a law was put into place that allows people to request a background check on their partner from the police if they suspect a history of domestic abuse. Years ago, this law would have only applied to women checking on male partners. It applies to both from the very start, with no protests required.

I honestly think that if the woman agrees to birth the child for the man to look after, that's great. But I don't think she should be pressured to. Obviously I have no way of knowing myself, but carrying a child and childbirth are presumably incredibly difficult experiences, especially when you didn't want it in the first place. The guy can always go and have a kid with someone who wants one. I would say adoption is an option too, but it's going to be next to impossible for a single man to adopt…

The longer people deny that men and women are different (not necessarily in a bad way, it's just fact) the more kids will grow up unable to properly regulate themselves. Men develop differently from women mentally and physically, and we can't pretend that they don't. Children need role models of the same gender available so that they can learn how to deal with these different aspects in a healthy way, especially during puberty.

Not really. We're talking about something that doesn't have a defined threshold, vs something that either happened or didn't. There are almost no situations where violence is acceptable in response to something that someone has said. It's a completely different kind of statement.

If she can discuss it with you maturely and accept that your point of view may differ from hers, that's what a healthy relationship is about. You won't always agree with each other, and it may help you both to grow your point if view. That's why it's "as much" not "more". It's horrible that being able to support more than one group of people at once is so rare that everyone sees any message of support as a contradiction of any other support. Whether the woman is the rapist or victim, I don't think anybody has a right to force her to undergo a medical procedure against her will. So what we're getting down to in the end is, no matter what, women should always have more rights over whether or not they reproduce than men.

What if for some reason he doesn't want to pass on his genes? Why is he not allowed that choice? They are his genes. Maybe he doesn't want to live knowing that he has a kid out there somewhere knowing that he has a kid that's either being parented by a rapist or thrown into the overfilled care system and left to rot until they're old enough to age out? Maybe she's abusive, and he's worried she'll use the child as leverage to try to get to him, or harm the child? After all, child abuse comes most…

I'm not arguing against you, just providing some relevant experience. The code is stupid, yes. It's ineffective and essentially pointless, not to mention potentially harmful. Teaching women to be more scared of men isn't helping anyone.
/r/MensRights18/04/17 06:05 PM

So, no matter what, if the woman wants to create a child with that man's genes, he has no choice over the matter. What about if he was raped, is there still no difference? Also, I don't think "everybody getting reproductive rights" means what you think it means. That's not everybody having reproductive rights. Reproductive rights is having the right to choose whether or not you reproduce.

So essentially, women get reproductive rights, men do not.

I think what the OP of this thread is trying to say, is that it's more of a "both parents have to agree to KEEP it" rather than a "both parents have to agree to abort it" scenario.

I had to abandon a drink when I was out one time, because I left it with a friend while going to the bathroom, the friend wandered off for whatever reason, and it had an unusual salty taste to it when I took a sip when I got back, which is a signature sign of certain drugs, can't remember which one. I can't have drank enough for it to be particularly effective, but I definitely had to go home early that night. There is a chance that this was down to who I am, because as a trans guy chasers are a…

Apart from the new guy turning up first, this was basically my parents. Instead of another guy, my mum is just a psycho who tried to keep my dad away from me the moment I was born, and then started yelling at him for not doing enough for me. Now I'm stuck with her until I can afford to move out (pretty fucking difficult when you can't work due to disability) while enduring the bullshit that she then turned to me once my dad left. I was about 5 when he left, and I was 8 or something before she le…

Accusing someone of rape and accusing someone of theft are completely different thing. Anyone willing to accuse someone of rape probably knows society's opinion of it, and how rapists are viewed. Anyone willing to do that to an innocent person must be either a sociopath or severely disturbed. The fact that society essentially supports this only makes it worse.

It takes a really sick heap of shit to falsely accuse someone of rape. At least we found out about this kid early on, before she starts torturing animals or setting fire to stuff.

24 hours isn't going to make an abortion more complicated.
/r/MensRights20/02/17 09:51 PM

"Don't ever have sex ever unless you want kids" is basically what you're saying. Accidents happen, and in places where abortion is legal, women have 100% of the choice whether to have the kid or not. Both parents should have to agree to have the kid, not just one advantaged parent. Or, you know, if she wants to keep it but he doesn't, he shouldn't have to pay her for her choice.

If you can normalize homosexuality then you can normalize being transgender and then pedophilia. Yeah then I would change that, because that's not what it sounded like.

As a trans dude, I don't think transgender should be a part of LGBT. We're not the same thing. Being trans is a medical condition that requires treatment (transition). Sexuality is not a medical condition. Being trans should be accepted, yes, but not normalized. It being "normal" to be trans isn't helping anyone, it just leads to the complete mess that Tumblr is now, where people have no idea what being trans even means, but it's "normal" so people are mislead and claim they are when they really…

If we're talking about as in whether they're able to survive without aid, again it's a matter of where they stand on the other criteria. If they are conscious of the world around them and are able to comprehend and interact with it, then definitely. If they're able to comprehend the world around them but not interact with it at all, that's where the grey area begins. It's hard to tell if someone in that state is conscious of the world around them or not, and honestly I feel like that kind of sta…

They're at the point where they're actually capable of developing those traits, a fetus cannot develop those traits, it is in a state preventing it from doing so. It is also in the process of experiencing the world, so it doesn't fit all of those criteria.

Unpopular opinion, but I don't really think it matters whether you consider it a human being or not. It's never experienced the world, it hasn't developed a personality, it probably isn't even aware that it exists. I feel like those things are what makes a human being more than how many cells it has. I'm not saying that everyone should start having abortions right before it's born or anything, just some food for thought.

To be honest with such a dickhead for a new president, if I was in America I'd probably march with the women as well as the men (if there was a men's march), everyone over there needs all of the moral support they can get.

This is more severe than what my college does, but I'm kind of worried to speak out against my college's thing with making 1/3 of the sessions of all of the extracurricular activities unavailable for men by making them women's only, because of the kind of reputation it will get me. Speaking out against things like this will usually just get you treated like you're a sexist asshole, and that kind of reputation sticks with you.

My college (UK college, not America college, so this isn't expected) has women's only versions of pretty much every recreational activity they offer. They don't happen at the same time or anything, these are sessions allocated to be for women only.

There's one gender neutral bathroom in my whole college, and that's all we really need. There's like 3 people who actually use it. I'm FtM (like, genuinely, I go to a clinic half way across the country every 2 months, I'm not fucking around) and my welcomeness in either bathroom would be pretty hit and miss, so it's just easier really. Otherwise there's disabled bathrooms, they're just as good.

Home bathrooms tend to be a different story. We have a downstairs bathroom that even I won't pee in, it pretty much belongs to my stepdad now. It's disgusting. It seems to be older men that have that problem though, not sure why that would be but it looks like the case.

Had to use both at certain points in my life, can confirm. Blood on the ceiling. Blood on the walls. Blood on the toilet seats. Shit on the ceiling. Shit on the walls. Pee in every imaginable place it would stay. Used sanitary products in sinks and left on the floor. Thankfully not all in one experience, but it's not uncommon to find multiple of these things happening in one bathroom.

Mine doesn't even bet me stuff, she just automatically acts like I won't do anything "useful" because I don't want to do the exact same thing she did with her life, and trying not to be treated like shit leads me to make stupid decisions, like now being stuck on a course that I hate to the point of it sinking me back into depression, but can't leave because I don't have £7000 to pay back.

To be honest, yeah, I find myself having to confine my emotions sometimes, and it was weird at first. I'm naturally not a particularly emotional person, I've been through and seen some serious shit so I tend to keep more minor stuff to myself, but when I do display any emotions it's still a little weird to remind myself that I can't.

1) The difference that makes me trans isn't so much emotional, but body-wise. I'm not sure what you're asking or if that's the answer you were looking for. 2) To be honest, it depends. There's a much wider web of support of MtF people, including media and the supporting politics, both of which focus almost entirely on the MtF side of the community, but some may say that because it's less taboo for someone perceived as female to display "male" behaviours rather than the other way around, we're le…

Yeah, the media always makes things bigger than they would have been without it, it's just kind of what it does. I'm FTM, I've had only a few issues with men's bathrooms. Men tend to be more chill about these things. The most times I've had issues is when it's been "policy" for me to have to use the women's bathrooms, and people have threatened to call the police.

Unfortunately, similar to the route that feminism took, we may find that after all real goals are met, we'd have similar people latching onto the remains of the movement for attention and pity. In that case, we would probably be seen the exact same. Otherwise, we'd likely be seen with either resentment or complete apathy.

I'm in a very similar situation to you, except I still have contact with my dad. My mother has always been very abusive, both towards me and presumably my dad when they were together. They had a fight when I was about four which, from what I can tell from the information I've gathered, was her calling him names and hitting him, and he hit back once, leading to a tantrum from her. Afterwards she made me choose which one of them I wanted to spend the rest of my minor life with, without giving me t…
