In a very broad sense, I think feminists use these terms to refer to treating women without respecting their agency, autonomy, dignity, and complexity as human beings. I could be wrong about this definition. And 100% agree with them that porn can be misused and cause men to mistreat women in this way. My question however, was about the possible effect of watching male-sub porn and imagining oneself as the objectified. Because as is widely known, objectification and degradation are deliberately b…

I see, I think my initial confusion was that you implied that all dom-sub relationships are unethical in light of the history of gender violence. Man-on-man porn is often based on heterosexual porn dynamics. From the filming angles to a "feminized" as "masculinized" roles, down to pouty botox lips. That's true, but how is that inherently problematic? Straight relationships are usually based on a mutual attraction between masculine and feminine qualities as well. Does gender oppression therefore appear in all sexual relations? It would be interesting to imagine something like a post-gender sex.

So you think that all dom-sub relationships are problematic. I fully agree with you that these types of relationships are usually entangled with our histories and identities as social subjects. What is your opinion on women who have masochistic fantasies then, is it a result of gender trauma that must be overcome? And also, would man-on-man porn have any adverse effects on men's relations with women?

I see, so is your issue more with the abusive industry practices than with the psychological effect on viewers? Do you think watching man-on-man porn would be as harmful psychologically, assuming that the actors were treated ethically?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
