Sounds like you are the target of psychological and emotional abuse my friend. I can totally relate to that. I was belittled many times and she always thought she was better than me. Totally call her out on that shit and see how she reacts. If she gets a sniff that you are looking to end the relationship, she might well change her tune. She cannot continue to disrespect you and treat you like a child. You are not a child. You are doing your best and she only ever seems to notice when you've made…

I feel you man. Same here. I was absolutely heart broken for at least a couple of years after we splite until I finally realized she's just not the same person I married and never will be. Her personality these days, I would avoid that like the plague. People do change but not everyone. I don't think I have changed though despite her best efforts!

My marriage ended after 10 years when my ex went stone cold for about 3 weeks and would barely speak to me or look at me. This was not uncommon over the years but these episodes usually lasted a few days at most. This time it was a biggie but I had had enough one night and I told her she needs to tell me what is going on right now. She completely tore me to shreds in a single sitting. Made me feel like the most worthless, useless man on the entire planet. Poked fun at my earnings and my lack of …

I don't hate my ex but she has made it abundantly clear that she hates me. She has been so unreasonable and uncommunicative for so long and I have tried a few times to make things more amicable so there is better exchange of information about the kids. She's not having it. In fact, we accidentally passed each other in the street recently and the side glance she gave me. Well, if looks good kill, I would have died 1000 deaths. So utterly toxic and unsavory. Sure, there are times when I wouldn't p…

Thanks. Yeah I as getting beyond frustrated about not being able to go away for a weekend with my GF, or even go out on a Saturday night. I always saw my GF on a Friday night after work when we are both usually very tired from the work week and often to tired to go out anywhere. I asked her to swap and she goes silent, then eventually will get a reply a long the lines of "That doesn't work for me", so I had to confront her about it and she laughed at me, like I have no right to live any kind of …

Agreed between us but it was an initial agreement after we moved apart. At no point did I, or would ever, agree to five up every single weekend

It's a verbal agreement between us, which started of with me being able to swap a Fri/Sat when I needed it but then she decided that wasn't enough for her. NEVER in a million years would I agree to do every weekend. Who in the right mind would do that? Because of the "5 nights" she feels she is fully entitled to have every weekend off whilst I miss out on event after event and I duck and dive at anyone asking me to go out on a Sat day/evening. Even a Sunday day is off the table. I still get the …

Yeah the problem with 50:50 for me is that I do not have anyone to look after the kids when I am working. I WFH most days but it is quite stressful WFH with my 8 yo who is a bit of a handful to say the least! Even the current 5:2 arrangment, I see the kids 4/7 days per week including almost all the daylight hours on a weekend. I am also expected to do 2 full weeks over summer, which is fine but when I ask when I am getting a week off I get radio silence

This. Absolutely this. Whatever is going on in her head, only she knows. If she doesn't communicate this to you in anything but cryptic form then there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Then, inevitably when it all comes out, it's way too fucking late

Thanks :) At the start, she was fine with swapping a Sat for a Friday, so I could drop them off on a Sat evening and have the rest of the weekend free. Then that became not OK. I actually went a full year without having 1 single Saturday evening off! One of the times I confronted her about this arrangement, she remarked that she would have a 'shit weekend' if it meant giving me a Saturday night off. By her logic, I must behaving a shit weekend every weekend then. Another time I brought it up, he…

I will add that, since she moved out of our matrimonial home a year ago, she has been doing all pickups and drop offs. She doesn't want me near her new home

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
