Have to agree that you only know you need to go MGTOW after experience of relationships, whether that be casual or full-on marriage. MGTOW isn't about giving up because you can't play the game, it's because you won't. I feel this distinction gets mixed up for a lot of people.

In my experience making the decision to do something and following through with it is actually more difficult that doing the actual thing you are planning to do ie actually getting up and on the bike is harder than actually doing the cycling. And more often than not I'm glad I made that effort.

She says her BB is her man ( false, he was dead in her eyes the moment she suggested the open relationship). Can't stress it enough, once a woman suggests an open relationship it's game over for the guy. He has to move on fully or suffer the humiliation.

Absolutely. Questioning the rules? Colluding with other men to decide on a better strategy? How dare men open the back and look inside to see how it works! That's the panic that sets in when TRP is seen to be at work.

They won't reprogram guys. At the very basis of reproductive drive men are subconsciously seeking fertile women, the prime is early 20s and steadily decreases towards the menopause. Men may age but the drive and ability to procreate is still there well into their 60s and beyond in some cases. On a primal level men will always be seeking out young women regardless of what civilization has changed.

In my unenlightened days I was trying to get an ex to acknowledge we had good times. She point blank refused to do so, she couldn't bring herself to admit it. She had rewritten history in a bid to justify her moving on. And I was totally baffled, why would anyone want to not think about the good times? I know now, of course. Yet another thing I wish I knew 20 years ago.

Right, just talking to anyone, from the elderly woman serving in the supermarket to some old guy waiting for a bus, to some students trying to find a decent place to eat. Before long you forget all the approach psychology, just engaing people is second nature.

15 years ago online dating was a genuine alternative to real-life dating. Everyone was serious and there were few time-wasters. If you couldn't get a date in real life then you'd head for some dating site. It was generally frowned upon by the mainstream. Fast-forward to 2016 and online dating is strictly the preserve of shallow people who value looks above everything else. It's no longer the alternative for the socially-awkward who simply cannot compete. And this is the hard part for them: reali…

A simple one: Looking for a man who knows how to treat a woman/I like the finer things in life She expects any man to spend money on her, and won't put up with cheapskates or the frugal. This doesn't necessarily mean she has class, even though the use of these phrases hopes to give that impression.

No. Women want hot men who challenge them, who openly disagree or flat-out don't care about their opinions. They want men who put themselves first, do what they feel and don't feel the need to explain themselves. Women will say they're assholes; selfish, emotionally distant, ignoring the woman's needs etc, but inside they love the challenge, the resistance, the game. These guys are interesting and challenging to a woman. There are bad men, men who do bad things to bad people, then there are the …

Let us not underestimate the importance of sexual release for men. It's something we need to remain psychologically and hormonaly balanced. Someone here posted a Bill Maher video where he felt school shootings may be a rarer thing if these guys had got some regular sex. Masturbation is okay as a stop-gap but real intercourse really does the trick. Simply put, keeping the price high keeps men where feminists want them.

Recognizing the situation is half the battle won. There are guys out there who would just keep following that trail of breadcrumbs and not realize how much the woman is taking from them without giving.

Friends are there for you when times are hard, when you're sick. Some people you know won't fit this but that's not to say they're bad people. You have to ask yourself who would be there for me, and I for them, when times are hard? It's a tough one, but if there are people you know who would stick with you through thick and thin, they're the ones worth their weight in gold.

That's why it's really important for men not to go aruond telling everyone how much they're doing to make their life better, how many times a week they're going to the gym, etc, and just do it, because the results will speak louder than any words ever can.

You mention some lookalike sexbots, and I suspect most stars would feel uncomfortable putting their likeness to something like that. However, I foresee a new class of pornstar, women who would be more than happy to be paid tons to have their bodies scanned and turned into robots for sex. Companies would be in a bidding war over these women, women who would be able to make an incredible amount of money.

It has started, the social shaming of any devices that lower the price of pussy. In a world where a man could get pleasure any time he wants with little to no effort, any men, even "creepy" ones, women would have to step their game up. But rather than doing that, they shame men who even think about this as a solution. It will get worse, the "warnings" will become more intense, change is coming, it might not be in 10 years or 50 years, but it's coming, and feminists don't like it one bit.

Women love to be challenged, they love drama, they like that tension and uncertainty, it keeps them interested. It's as simple as turning up an hour late from work and not explaining yourself, or disagreeing with her. I've witnessed this with a couple of couples I know. Beta men will keep the peace by agreeing with a woman even if they don't actually agree, they'll always be on time, always explain every slight hiccup, always be available. Boring.

That's what I thought. Doggy is hardly extreme, dangerous sex. If it gets to the point where she won't even do doggy then you may as well put your dick in a box and bury it in the desert.

If you deny her sexually she'll just look elsewhere and blame you. If she denies you sex she'll blame you for not being this or that unfathomable thing.

Right. Women will get attention only from orbiters and sex from select men. Men will get sex from a soft harem (effectively the male equivalent of orbiters) but give attention to select women. In both cases the confidence that attention/sex gives makes it easier to go deeper in more serious relationships.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if a woman really wants a man she'll do everything in her power to get that man right away, and definitely not take it slow. If a guy thinks it's reasonable to wait weeks, even months, to consummate a relationship, he needs to work on getting more options.

The only time I can think of where crying in front of a woman may be acceptable is after a bereavement. During my last LTR I lost my father suddenly and it hit me really hard. My partner was very supportive and comforting. The difference between this and the OP's example though is the guy above cried because he felt he had failed, whereas I wept over real loss. It didn't feel like a transfer of power to her, it was something very personal.

The difference I see is that online dating is something women like to do "for a laugh", they don't put much effort in (they don't have to, some may argue), it's a really casual thing, and I've met women who are addicted to surfing profiles looking for that guy who is that bit better than what she has now. Back in 2000 or so it was much more straighforward. I'm not saying there were attention whores back then, or that there are no serious women now, but that's the main difference I see.
/r/TheRedPill24/08/15 05:48 PM

Absolutely. I remember using various sites in the early 2000s. The stigma was still there, but as you say those who used dating sites were serious. Makes me wish it was as easy as it was back then, and as bullshit-free as it was then too. Now it's just depressing to see how online dating has changed for the worst.

Knew a guy who was 5'8 but put 5'11 on his profiles. He said whilst some women were "you seem a bit shorter", most either didn't mention it, didn't really care or didn't notice. Guessing this only works on women shorter than 5'8 though.
/r/TheRedPill13/08/15 08:45 PM

Indeed. 6 is where women in online dating will go "yeah not bad, but let's see who else is available". And they'll never go back to them. 6 is a quick glance then moving on. At least a 1 gets a reaction.

The guy must have been interested in her from the get go, but made the major mistake of trying to friend his way to being her lover when he should have let her know right away he was interested. So she's an asshole for letting it go on that long (can't believe she wouldn't see he was interested in her romantically) and taking advantage, and he's an asshole for not letting her know sooner and trying to buy affection, although he gets some credit for shutting it down when she rejected him. I meant that I've always got the impression younger women tend to go for older guys who maybe have a house, decent job etc, but I'm not one of those guys; that might make things tougher. But you're right, it's just a case of geting out there and taking it.

Really glad I read this. I'm in my 40s and have been feeling weird about approaching women in their late-20s (my ideal target). I just feel creepy and strange ... but TRP has taught me that's just how women try and protect themselves from accusations of being slutty or strange themselves. Ultimately I need to feel the burn of rejection from younger women, ride out the "shame" I'm supposed to feel. You have to be pretty damn solid mentally to date a single mom. Easily-manipulated types who cave in to a bit of emotional blackmail along the lines of "you'd look after the kids if you loved me" are really asking for trouble. My problem is I'm an older guy who isn't some massive success or established enough to rake in the girls 15 years my junior. It's pretty tough.

The bottom 80% of men don't need to know this; women don't even acknowledge they exist so they don't even need to say anything, and the top 20% are getting too much pussy to care. Meanwhile the bottom 80% are largely sat there thinking "but I'm nice and kind and not an asshole like what she says she wants. Why am I getting no attention?" TRP is what's helping the guys in the upper reaches of the bottom 80% move on up, and if not join the top 20% then at least fake it. And that's why TRP is so re…

That sort of note can be used to reinforce attraction in women who already find you attractive, but should never, ever be used to get a woman's attention, absolutely. A lot of men are guilty of not letting a woman know what he wants from them, but it's important to read the signs and know when it's apt.

So basically some people decided that we all deserve this, that everyone should know just how awful we are. No right to reply, no justification to our faces. No attempt to get the full picture. If I have a problem with someone I'll come out with it and let them know, and prepare myself to face the consequences, not use some nonsense like this. I didn't ask for this, I am here to debate human nature, relationships, self-improvement. I'm here to try to understand, not hate. And yet I'm labelled as…

I'm also baffled. I appear on a list of people so awful (according to SJWs) I need to have that fact automatically added to my name. That makes me feel really sad actually. I've never advocated violence towards women, never advocated hate. This sub for me is all about making my life better, understanding relationships, understanding human nature with all its faults. The white knights decrying this as "creepy" are secretly hoping for some female attention coming their way; maybe the women will see how much they respect women, unlike this uncouth, flash misogynist, and they'll give it to them instead - dream on. EDIT: comedy spellcheck.

Sex bots would see the bottom fall out of the SMP for women, so you can bet your ass these things will be shamed at best, outlawed at worst. Sex bots and quality virtual sex would satisfy the "creepy" guys women routinely turn down for sex, but that wouldn't matter, if she feels it's not good it won't happen.

I discovered The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle via this sub and it was a revelation. Get beyond the new-age veneer and there is some solid information about getting control of your mind and stopping it running away with you and distracting you. It's not 100% but well worth a read. I particularly liked the exercise where you can measure how present you are by mentally asking yourself "What is the next through I will have?" then monitor your mind. Have you ever had that feeling when you meet someone who really does it for you, that feeling where the pair of you can't get your hands off each other, where you both want to spend time together? It's a strong, innate feeling. You make each other your top priority. Women love drama, and they love sharing it, and if it involves an attractive guy she can associate herself with then all the better. Unattractive guys make her look bad if she forgives them; those fellas will merely be the basis for ridicule at best.

Right, there's a difference between a woman texting you whilst you're on a date inviting you over to her and hubby's for dinner next week and being texted by an available woman wanting to hook up. Other women can spot "safe women" a mile off.

I can identify with the alcoholic metaphor. As much as I think I know I won't make the same mistakes with women, fall into the friendzone, lose frame etc, I simply don't trust myself to get involved right now for fear of losing it, because when faced with a genuine prospect of female attention, will I just fall back again? There have been a few occasions recently where I've felt myself slipping when with attractive women, and it highlighted what I lacked, but more importantly gave me a reality c…

The best female "friends" I have are the wives or girlfriends of men I know, or couples where I know both of them equally. There's one woman I speak to regularly basically because she runs her and her husband's social lives. I also have a couple of female activity partners who I have no real desire to fuck, but for what we do they're really fun and good to have around, and whilst I'll use the word "useful", I can't think of a better way of putting it, they're good for finding things and the like…

My father was strange. He lacked control and could be weak most of the time, but man could he mack the ladies. I was often told just how much he could snare some woman he met, even after 20-30 years of marriage. Sadly our relationship was such that his game didn't really pass down to me.

I was the classic frustrated nice guy, wondering why what I'd been taught wasn't working. But In my work I've found that if you don't mind pissing off some people, you can get what you want. That goes to women too. Be prepared to disagree with them, annoy them, allow them to not have to like you.

The vastly increased choice offered to women via online dating has made even average-at-best women feel they can do better. Mr Right is just one more profile view away. The greater the options, the less likely a woman is to give a relationship a proper go. It's just more reason to avoid online dating unless you're seriously attractive and have really tight game.

"Dad bod" has been all over my FB feed lately, men posting it saying "yay, women like me with a gut! Pass the beer", and women posting it saying men just need to be themselves. Both camps completely missing the point. It was so tempting to get in there and lay down some TRP truths, but I know better than that.

If you check out the arguments and coverage of the sex industry in the mainstream media and the world at large, it is emotive to them. Shaming men into conforming to the generally-accepted ways of being sexual with women is a factor, certainly. Like with most subjects discussed here, trying to understand is seen as "cheating" or manipulative. And men being able to pay for sex can be seen as men short-circuiting the system.
/r/TheRedPill16/05/15 03:14 PM

Totally agree. Unfortunately a rational argument in favour cuts no ice when it comes to what has become an emotive subject. Read any article about prostitution and you'll see mention of downtrodden, exploited women, often trafficked in, tragic stories that, whilst valid, aren't the full reflection of the sex industry. But that's how legislation is informed. All men who visit prostitutes or use escorts are either sexual predators or the hopeless, all of whom give tacit approval to sexual exploita…

Women react to low-value men with a patronizing air of pity at best, outright contempt and nastiness at worst, if the guy isn't completely invisible. Other men will generally have more class about it, although white-knighting and joining in with women in being nasty are rife. Sadly some men think putting lower-SMV men down is a valid sexual strategy. Whilst some here would say low-value men are getting back what they put into their lives, men who want to change and not complain should be encoura…

I don't have a problem with women being overweight (I like big girls, not obese though; I have standards). What I do have a problem with is double standards. If you're going to persuade people to accept you the way you are, you have to do the same for everyone else. So if a woman says "6' and above only" on a dating site, you have to not give a guy shit for putting "slim women only" on his profile.

It's great you're getting to what is means to be a man at last, but a word of caution: don't evangelize TRP, even though it's clearly had a huge effect on you. Internalize it, improve yourself, but don't talk about it to people. Sadly society at large don't want to know, and a proportion see it as nasty and manipulative.

Nerdy girls know their USP and trade on it, just like any other woman. You know a girl who plays Magic: The Gathering? Every guy who plays thinks they're in with a chance, and that girl knows it. If you really must ask a woman for advice, always assume their answer was relating to a hot guy. For instance, if she was asked how does a man ask a woman to have lunch with him, and she says "just be yourself and ask her", don't assume she's talking about you, it's about a guy she'd find attractive. But men should never be asking women for that kind of advice anyway, fish, fishermen, etc etc.

It could be argued that men did ruin dating, but not for the reasons given in that article. If desperate men didn't message all women and maintained some standards, women wouldn't have the inflated self-image that just ends up feeding back with these men trying even harder.

As an older guy that works with women and has met plenty through online dating and friends, I can totally agree with OP's point. I'm seeing middle-aged woman getting as much attention and "fun" as they always have. A woman's perceived SMV is what matters here. A woman in her 40s still has to power to attract more men than she can cope with, regardless of her actual SMV, if she has realistic expectations. Exactly. I very much doubt the patriarchy forced all the women at my workplace to eagerly devour and spread the 50 Shades trilogy like it was going out of fashion. The beta guy here loses because he threw all his cards in before getting into a relationship. The gulf between a woman's and man's definition of "good man" is where the trouble lies. For a woman it's a physically-attractive, high-status man that is desired by other women (social proof). A man's definition is based on what women say they want a "good man" to be: honest, caring, committed. The top 20% of men know to ignore what a woman says she wants.

This is something I often think about. Looking at the 80/20 rule, there must be a significant number of men in Western society who will either remain virgins or at least only experience sexual intimacy fleetingly. What will happen to them? Women don't even see them, they're invisible. TRP believes these men can only get sex through hard work. MGTOW is more for men who have experienced female relationships and decided it's not worth the hassle; does simply not feeling able to play the game make o…

"Sex" isn't just about the actual act though, it includes simple physical intimacy like taking a bath together, spooning, etc. Once experienced that sort of intimacy will always be craved.

It's pretty simple really: introduce a little uncertainty and mystery and it keeps a woman's interest. Too much communication just means you give all your power away.

And if you do manage to interest a woman via online dating you can bet she was looking to trade up from the last chump she found ... and you know what that means: she'll be back on there having a browse whilst you're having a shower.

This by the way is also the problem when women say how much they'd appreciate being treated like a princess: they don't imagine Joe Everyman doing that but Brad Pitt, i.e. a guy that checks all their other boxes and finally is nice and forthcoming as a cherry on top. However, they usually omit that part (which is also the reason why TRPs take on women's advice is "pay attention to what they do, not what they say"). I was talking with a friend recently and trying to express this, but you've manag…

This is true for successful, handsome guys whose SMV will just rise and rise as they get older, but most average men go to seed in their 30s/40s, they reach a plateau and may not be in a good position to move from it. There's always room for improvement, and you're right that it's never too late, but for guys late to the pill, guys who have lived the lie in their 20s and 30s, knowing their limitations is important.

It's important to ask why do some men prefer to stay rather than walk away. They think at any moment the woman will suddenly have a change of heart and realize what she's missing. Even the farthest hope can keep a hungry man going, and women know this. Say no, because once a woman has made her mind up it will never change.

As an older guy the pool of decent-quality single women is decreasing by the year. I was resistant but have recently come to the conclusion that I'm either going to have to settle for some mental divorcee or get a decent-quality woman to cheat. Why enter into a poor-quality relationship with a woman who will ultimately cheat because you're not that alpha she had in her youth when you can be the guy she can cheat with? When you're single and older you're not likely to find the love of your life a…

It only takes a few opinionated, vocal women to favor a certain kind of top 20% man to get a larger number of other women interested, even if they're not totally sure why the vocal women value them. It's just enough to know other women find them attractive.

In my experience older women tend not to take a man on face value, instead try to fit him into their experience of men in the past. If they feel men in the past have been bad, they'll adopt a "once bitten, twice shy" attitude, effectively making the man guilty until proven innocent. And if they've had great men in their life you have that much more to live up to. The older the women, the more pronounced the effect. I'd love to meet these easy-going, experienced older women who put a positive spi…

Porn doesn't get a headache, is always ready, has near infinite variety, is largely free, and doesn't decide to go and stay with its sister for the weekend because you're being an asshole about it. Having said all that, after seeing a comment here that asked should you really feel good about yourself watching some other guy fucking a hot woman, I find it difficult to enjoy porn.

It makes it easier for women to find what other women like. Thus, women's social preference become more of a hivemind than before. Social proof used to be within a group of women, now it can be millions of women all over the world. It's frightening.

It's also true that men not on the top tier who could maybe get somewhere with women in a provider role in the past don't get any attention now women are more financially-independent. This means average guys hold very little value to women on online dating sites.

If most women on dating sites are vying for the attention of the top 10-20% on dating sites, it's no wonder these guys aren't committing. The idea of anyone finding a partner for a committed LTR via online dating is naive. If you're not in the top 10-20% of men, you may as well not bother.

This is it. When my last LTR ended I was left wondering what went wrong. As far as I could see there was no problem, things were going along great. What did I do wrong? TRP helped me understand the dynamics of relationships, and whilst I'm not there yet I feel more informed and in control of my love life. Maybe this is why people hate TRP.

It's been said before, but one of the major pillars of RP is self-improvement. Also there is a healthy attempt to help those get out of the anger phase, stop hating women and blaming them for their problems, and sort your life out. Any woman-hating comments get downvoted to hell. But I guess it's easier to write off a whole sub as bad than actually take part and see what it's all about.

Indeed, I'm probably not alone here being in my 40s and in and out of relationships down the years, coming to TRP relatively late and wanting to know more. But most of the activity here is either by or for guys in their late teens and 20s. It amuses me when I hear guys talking about women being past-it at 28, you won't be saying that at 40! Anyway, not criticizing, just would like to see more stuff for us older guys.

I keep n contact with people I share hobbies with on social media, but I do take your point. I refuse to Like really obvious attention-seeking selfies from female friends, and don't fall for those deliberately vague posts like "Oh well that's just great" where they want people to ask them "What's the matter hun?". What I'm saying is social media used correctly can be an aid, it's all about cutting out the useless stuff.

Despite women's assets depreciating over time, they still believe they're still high-value, and why not when there's always a demand? Women will always want a part of that 10g's, no matter how old the guy, in the same way some guys will always crave pussy, no matter how old the woman - and if you think a woman of 50+ isn't getting attention, you can bet there are still guys gunning for them.

Marks for at least trying to figure out a better way to do this sort of app, but it's not there yet. As long as photos and pure visual attraction is involved you'll always get men expressing an interest in any woman, and women being super-picky as they can't be sure the next guy won't be hotter. Sure, you could have an app with no photos and all text, but that would fail pretty fast. Gentlemen, this is how it will be from now on. The only way to win is be amazing.

I'd recommend either keeping a spreadsheet of exercise results (time spent, miles ran/cycled, etc) or use one of the many exercise-tracking apps out there to see how you're improving. Everyone likes the idea of "leveling up" and seeing stats increase, it's surprisingly compelling. Just ask all those MMO players. Why not make it work for exercise too.

From what I could see they weren't directly criticizing feminism, they were saying the label "feminism" was being used by any group with an axe to grind, therefore devaluing the term. So even being critical of the word can get certain people upset now? Wow.

It's getting a score because, at the very least, this guy has realised the situation he's in and whilst he may not have handled it amazingly, he knows that he needs to do more work. I'd rather see stories like this than some BP idiot deluding himself that everything is fine and the woman will see he's the right man for her eventually yadda yadda.
