Very interesting thought. Has opt-in ever been a default option anywhere? So just to clarify, default male status is no rights/no responsibilities? Opt-in to rights and responsibility providing the female wants to have the baby too? What if female doesn't want the baby but the male does, what do you suggest then?

You forgot to mention the woman can use contraception and has the option of putting the child up for adoption. Even this proposed situation still leaves a potential father at a disadvantage. For example, what if he wants the child and the woman doesn't? Either way, the proposal is more fair than it currently is, no reproductive 'rights' and full responsibility.

Oh man brother, I totally agree! I'm a 3x divorcee, I get it! The pain is real, the issues are real! I feel rage a great deal of the time. I don't really share most of what's happening to me because of the deep repressed feelings it brings up and fear of judgement. I judge myself harshly enough. Please vent away, it's healthy. Let's make sure we try and be better than those that oppress us though. Down vote away my brothers, I'll die on this hill.

He's talking about behavior, being petty, not dictating how we think or feel. We are free to think or feel whatever we want, the point is to try not to lower our behavior to the level of the feminists, who often don't listen to facts or contrary opinions and will instead attack the person or a misinterpretation of facts rather than address facts or opinions that are different from theirs.

This! People should lift each other up. A person's 'friends' should certainly be doing that. If you're hanging out with people who put you or others down, find new friends.

Exactly, no disrespect to this person, but he will never know the true depth of it because, like it or not, he's still a protected class (trans). That said, the more people of former privilege (female) who do transition to men and speak out, the better. More power to this gentleman and may his journey be a happy one.

This situation is what's called "Reproductive Rights". Emphasis on Rights. As Dave Chappelle said, "If you can murder the kid, I should at least be able to abandon it."

Yes and no, it's both things. Some guys walk in a room and girls fall all over them before they do anything other than step in the door. It's got to be both inherent and earned.

These are generalizations, obviously some men will be less horny than some women. Just like some women will be physically stronger than some men. I can't believe I need to write this, maybe you were feeling insecure so you took a shot at a stranger online. If that is the case, I'm sorry you're not feeling secure in yourself. It actually sounds okay to me to be the one who isn't initiating or seeking sex. Good for you.

Nice of you to understand there are two sides to every story, see the support the wife gets and the gossip she instigates, and realize the man is likely not getting that support and is having his reputation tarnished. After hearing that, I don't even need to hear his side, tou've described the wife's actions well. I doubt she suddenly became someone who would air their dirty laundry and talk poorly of her husband.

Exactly, and don't let anyone make you feel ashamed if you decide to take your turn with the young attractive girls once you've established yourself when you're older. If you keep your nose to the grindstone, and keep doing what you're doing, up-skill, avoid (too) long term relationships, and always use a condom, your day will come, and the scales will balance.

I didn't say to not put up a modicum of defense, and run wasn't meant literally, more figuratively. He should have 'ran' long before the child was even conceived, but live and learn. My point being, stay away from that woman, there is little to 'win' in a court battle as a man. It's better to let a woman like this self-destruct.
/r/MensRights18/05/25 11:12 AM
2

My advice is sound. If she is as bad as he makes out, then she will likely implode and he will get his child back without the court costs and drama. If he fights for his daughter in court he will lose more money, time, physical & emotional health, and at best split custody with his wife who he will now have to interact with on a very regular basis, setting him up for more false accusations and drama. No, it's a horrible situation. But the wife is going to be worse when he is around to blame and fight with. Let her parents step in. Just what do you suggest he do? Kidnap the child? Fight for the child in court? How do you think that will go? Return home and be there for another false accusation?
/r/MensRights17/05/25 07:33 PM
13

Your daughter should be alright because you won't be there to be blamed or to fight with. The wife's parents will likely step in to protect your daughter should your wife really start to lose her shit. It really sucks your child is in a vulnerable position and you have to deal with all this. I wish I could tell you that you could tell the truth to the police and courts and be believed, but you've found out how it actually works already. Stay away from the wife. Do not be alone with her anymore.

I'm not saying prison is the easy or a good option, It's horrible and that's the bitter irony. The government will support you by locking you up, in hell, at a higher cost than housing, educating, and providing you with medical outside of jail. Killing prisoners, no. You lost me there. A joke? Not funny to me. My point is, if people need it, house them, educate them, help them self-actualize. If we don't, we will pay more to support them in jail. It's simple economics/mathematics.

In prison, you have housing, food, health care, and sometimes even education is provided for you. If you're not in prison you're out of luck. It more than feels like it, prisoners are given far more at a far greater cost to society. The system is essentially baiting you to break the law.

At a time of record corporate profits and potentially an exponential rise in productivity on the way with AI and robotics, we better start getting used to the idea of being able to share jobs and being paid livable wages for a fraction of the work. Corporate profits will need to take a long overdue hit.

This looks well thought out and I like most of what I read, but I got thrown when I read that an innocent child should suffer poverty because of the poor choices made by an indigent mother. Call me a bleeding heart, but the no welfare for an indigent mother part bothers me a bit. And just to be clear, I didn't say we shouldn't 'step up', I stated we don't really get to choose. I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of their assertion that we demand access to their body, when they are in fact demanding access to ours.

What do you do when carrots (rewards), words and reasoning fail to change a child's dangerous behaviors? I don't see the lack of male reproductive rights, and often forced responsibility on this list. Maybe I missed it. For me, this is a glaring issue that shows how hypocritical the feminist agenda is.

This is a just cause. All the rhetoric about reproductive rights, being human rights. Yet men don't have"reproductive rights". What does that make us, less than human? This issue should be far bigger than it is, such glaring hypocrisy.

Your sympathy is appreciated. I agree with much of what you say in terms of how women can flourish when men provide for them. Though I would ask you to notice how you used the language, men mooch and women are supported. Isn't it possible that terminology could be reversed, men supported and women mooching? (In fairness your terminology is very common in society and that's a big part of the problem.) Frankly I feel we all could use a little more support and understanding, especially in challengi…

Also, remember, we are talking about feelings here, not the same as objective reality about whether I am safer or not. I'm just keeping it real, all I ask anyone to do, MRA or Femanist.

Hey, this is my first downvoted post, simply for expressing my opinion. This must be the radical MRA. I'm a long time MRA, and I will say, that I'm quite sure ( I'm not a 5' <100lb female so I don't know for absolute sure) as a 6'4" male I feel safer than that 5' female I just mentioned. Does that mean I feel safe, no, but comparitively, I absolutely do. Let the down votes and hate commence.

Thank you for this gift of word, and I see the value in the phrase reproductive control, as it paints a picture which seems to accurately reflect where we are at as a society on the subject. I would like to move the discussion forward though and I think that requires the use of the word rights as the rights of all party's need to be considered.

I get your point, I'll throw you an upvote because I like your equality point at the end and you're correct when you say I'm wrong that nobody is taking about it. When I said no one is talking about it, it was meant in terms of mass media. Clearly we are here discussing it now, but I think Reddit and perhaps small articles in a scholarly magazines, small websites or other magazines may be the limit of the conversation when it seems to be a major issue which affects all of us. It is far past time…

Absolutely some are talking about it, but I refer to mainstem media when I say 'we'. You would think now that Roe v Wade is being threatened, supporters would want to open up a more inclusive dialogue seeking to find solutions rather than ignoring there even is an issue.

Sorry, I'll explain more. If you are the father of an unwanted pregnancy, women get sole discretion over whether you will be responsible for that child for the next 18 years. They are allowed to opt out, but you (M) are not. A clear violation of the 14th amendment guaranteeing equal protection under the law.
