Yeah, tell me about it. I'm a medical doctor who works crazy hours and am making less than 20k USD/year. This still leaves me above 80% of the population in terms of earnings. Too bad I have children, wife and have to care for my elders or else I'd have abandoned ship already.

The majority of posters in TRP tell you to avoid marrying on the premise that you'll be wealthier than your spouse. If you marry someone who's born into significant wealth I believe it can be advantageous both because you'll gain access to a share of it and because you gain connections to the rich, which are invaluable.

you can take peripheral blood (i.e. standard blood) from the mother during pregnancy and determine paternity nowadays. It's been comercially available for a couple of years, but it's significantly costlier

Excellent work. Very US-centric but it works. Also, USA cultural dominance meant that its developments were soon replicated in Western Europe and the Americas from the 1950s-1980s and worldwide from 1990s onwards. It's interesting to compare with Eastern Europe/Soviet Union during the cold war. As up until the 1930s everyone was on the same page and then the paths diverged significantly with them much more resistant to feminist incursions.
