I don't think he's much older than me. You really so sure it's so unlikely you got some self-learning to do that others will subsequently say you should have already known? Okay...

I've been in a situation where the relationship wasn't working but didn't want to just dump the person, so I tried explaining what could change to make it work. And despite how well I thought I knew myself, a lot of the issue(s) came down to things that I didn't previously realize would have such an effect on me. That's a human experience that I think can happen to most anyone. Life is complicated, as are psychology, love, and relationships. Dating a lot won't necessarily change that in predicta…

How? He was trying to break up with her, not demand that she change.

Your response is refreshingly reasonable after reading the overwhelming sentiment of comments in the r/popculturechat thread.

We should recognize imo that self-understanding often involves a lifelong process of discovery. He may not have known how much it would bother him if he'd never been in that situation before. And I didn't see where he threatened the relationship, but I may be wrong. He seemed to just be stating where he was and the limits of what he could handle. I see how that could be framed as threatening the relationship but imo that's a malicious interpretation. I haven't followed the whole thing super clos…

Same reason dudes keep opening porn tabs even after finding a video good enough to get them off.

So we'll live in a society of bitter, resentful, uneducated, desperate youths with nothing to lose? Seems unwise. Glad you're not making public policy.

That is a massive and incredibly deep supposition. Wow. Do you really think men even plan that far ahead? Or prioritize house chores that way? I would have assumed the knee-jerk explanation would have simply been "men care for only one thing, and it's..." but I don't know which baseless assumption is worse.

Many other sociological arguments reference the unjust economic disparity that, while lesser today compared to historical patterns, still exists and often limits the female partner's ability to leave when she wants to. I'd imagine that's one of many factors at play here.

It can be greed. It depends. If you're manipulating someone into something you know isn't good for them, it may be a deal while also being greed.

I will explain. Xqc was doing what's called 'proving a concept.' The concept in this case is that it is not gender/sex that determines who should do the protecting, but it is instead the ability to protect that determines this. The fact that maleness is associated with that ability is important but not the deciding factor.

It really gives the feeling that they don't give a fuck about you. The betrayal speaks to the whole relationship being a lie and all the love being fake, like a joke being played on you. Like they're actually so glad to be with someone else they actually like. I assume women feel mostly all that same shit though.
