4	A common response to males committing suicide 3x times as often as women is “That’s because men choose more violent & lethal methods”, with misandrist implications that it’s a result of men being inherently violent. In reality, studies show that even using the same less-lethal methods, men die more. If the women in these stats actually wanted to kill themselves, they would. There are dozens of easy fatal options that aren't that violent. Jump off a building. Lay on train tracks. Hang yourself. Fact is they don't want to die. My assessment of women as a group is that they are less capable of introspection and more prone to interacting with the world from a self-referential position than men are as a group. The consequences of divorce and broken families up until quite recently were far more severe than they are now. The welfare state supports individuals to live as individuals. Women are working and supporting themselves.
