500 dates and counting indicates, to me, an obsessive and unhealthy mentality about sex. I don't know anyone, regardless of how lonely or horny or whatever, who has those kinda numbers going on. Without knowing this before hand, he could seem normal enough, but I would hardly blame a women for thinking it creepy after the fact. And that's kinda what you get from completely random encounters from the subway, where you really have no context/shared interests/friends or whatever to base your meetin…

Bigotry, as in feeling you are superior and entitled to more than another group, is problematic for everyone. To feel uneasy around a group does not imply you feel superior, nor does it imply you view all X as Y. Blacks do not change to make whites feel better, because history tells us the violence we associate with them stems from history of oppression. Similarly, the fear women feel around men stems from other forms of oppression. A historically abused minority is given consideration because o…

It said nothing of 'females'. It said feminists. That's what I mean, was a mistype. If you can't even make that distinction you're not worth wasting my time with. Chill out, assclown And feminists do see men as inherently abusive They see the culture, founded on a history of male dominated society, as propagating male abuse. If they thought "oh it doesn't matter what we do, they'll still be that way" than they wouldn't be making efforts to change male behavior. You know I actually find it diffic…

I intend no disrespect to someone of your age/experience, but I still feel compelled to call BS. You on the other hand want me to debate you with links etc, argument, ad nauseum. So logical reasoning, and a bit of evidence when you claim that something happens all the time, is unreasonable? I do not debate feminism. I do denounce it however at every opportunity. I know some Christians you'd probably get along with. They run around telling everyone that evolution is wrong. When anyone starts to d…

and I'll wager if you do your own search (which I will not do for you) There's this thing called burden of proof you may want to check out sometime. "Hey I'm probably right, go find out why!" is a piss-poor excuse for argument, and indicates that you probably have absolutely nothing to back up your claims. I also love how "some feminist somewhere", whom you can't even cite, is the definitive indicator of feminist attitude. #notallfeminists #irony A boy has penis his cut off by an a-hole, the art…

Responded to your other post, but I almost missed this little gem the recent death threats towards organizers of a men's rights convention speak more to their current method of interacting with men. Oh right, all those terrifying death threats. Like one or two facebook post, and...well, no that's pretty much it. #notallfeminists #irony

Oh you mean how she never explained what part she actually agreed on? The quote made two statements: 1) females do not view men inherently abusive, but believe it is a product of culture and 2) correcting this view is the aim of feminism. As she vocally disagreed with part 2, it's not difficult to surmise that part 1 is what she agreed with. And where did I lie? To say the entire purpose of the article was disproving "feminists are your friends" is an exaggeration (as is the title). She maintain…

For fucks sake you're daft, I already explained this 3 times now and this will be the fourth: the reason blacks aren't obligated to change is because of the historical elements surrounding their situation. The same can be said about women. This is the last time I'm gonna explain it. Either respond to what I said, or go back and read it over and over until you can. I'm done trying to rephrase myself in 20 different ways just to get across a simple concept.

Boys are raped - male entitlement Wait, what? Show me anything, I mean absolutely anything, written by a feminist that attributes the rape of a boy to misogyny. I'll wait. There is not a single male issue Okay, so we're not talking virtually anymore... that feminists don't twist around and then co-opt it to be all about females. Well, let's see... Prostate cancer, testicular cancer, prison rape, rape within the catholic church, homophobia in boy scouts, just off the top of my head.

Blacks are more likely to commit violent crimes than whites. Though I would love to see some sources on this, let's just pretend it's true for now. Now what do we know about black history? Well, they were slaves, then they were bottom-of-the-barrel labor workers, couldn't vote, couldn't go to good schools, couldn't get any good jobs, etc. Segregation was still in full swing around 60 years ago, and we know it didn't disappear overnight - cultural, media, and institutional racism continued under …

Okay, I went back and it appears I misread. However, so did you. The author said she does agree with the quote, in part, but that wasn't the primary objective of feminism. So you quit fucking lying too.

So who is to blame for white racism? Whites or blacks? In a vacuum, might as well be a coin toss. Without context, who knows? Maybe blacks have enslaved whites for the last millennia, and whites are completely justified in their fear. But, we both know, accuarate history is part of the question. With gender issues, however, you shove your head in the sand and deny history has any relevance.

Yes, it is. Welp, I gave a detailed explanation of why it's not. If the best rebuttal you've got is "IS TOO!" I'm not really sure where to go from there. A lot of white people are "uneasy" around blacks. Is this the fault of blacks, or the fault of whites? Comparing an insanely historically abused/disadvantaged minority to a 1/2 population that has dominated the institutional and private sector of this country for over a century is about as ridiculous as it gets.

but it is responsible for turning virtually every issue into an 'issue against women', even when it's not. This is confirmation bias. The vast, vast majority of violent issues are not talked about whatsoever by feminists. Columbine? Never a feminist issues. The marathon bombing? Never a feminist issue. You get the point. Never a feminist issue. But your mind kind of skips over these moments, because it doesn't jog that memory of your theory. The issues I see MRA's become most defensive over are …

It's funny how as feminist backlash against the MRM has ramped up they've dropped the "feminism is for everyone rhetoric" and started adopting a more honest approach. Not born rapists? Life support systems for erect penises? Clearly you didn't understand this part at all. The author specifically said men are not these things, and explains why: When you have a society in which a women frequently fear abuse from men, you'll have a lot of women start to think men are, in general, more prone to be barbaric creatures. Feminists, she claims, believe men are not inherently that way and are instead affected by a culture with racist/sexist roots. The full human capaci…

men are also raped, and that they're mainly raped by women I would really like some source on this, because multiple studies I've seen show that in both female and male rapes, males are the vast majority of aggressors.

I sort of agree with the article, actually. Many of the discrimination men face is not "revenge" from feminists for past wrongs, it's a general distrust from society and institution after a long time of continued sexism toward women. When the author says "feminism is not about men", that's exactly what it means. It's focusing on correcting overall problems women face, which will actually benefit men as there will be less backlash in general.

Where the hell is this thing pulling the percentages out of? It says "votes" and then a number but it doesn't say if they were for, against, undecided etc. Also, are we supposed to be writing what we believe, or what we "think feminists believe" as the title suggests?

How does a guy who hates society as a whole and kills 4 men and 2 women turn into violence against women? This is seen all the time. Every time a catholic priest rapes a boy, every time a republican politician pulls some scandalous shit, hell every time a feminst extremist does something, we examine the overall problems with the social group they subscribe to. The killers entire manifesto on why echos where he saw himself - the attitude is prevalent among many PUA's. To say he wasn't a PUA becau…

Yes, but "being forced to hire a less competent employee" is how it's going to look when you make laws to fix this. If a corporation is found to never hire black people, you might have a law that says "Look what you're doing isn't fair, you need to hire at least 1 black person this year". By then the CEO can say "But all the white guys tested better, and were deemed more competent. You're making me pay a worse employee!" Everybody denies they're using discrimination. Hell, they may not even be a…

This is fine on an individual level, but it also gives rise to systematic discrimination unless said discrimination is caught and corrected early. Let's look at when blacks were barely ever employed by big companies. Each company maintained they were hiring based on purely on competency. And yet we found that, even when a black man had more qualifications for a position, the job would usually be given to the white man - supposedly because he was "more competent". This could one of many things...…

I don't see any problems with it. It's a community of support for women dealing with problems that are specific to their gender, and was probably defaulted to try and get a bigger female base on Reddit. I just scanned the front page, couldn't see any instance of irrational man-hate.

This video has some very good points, but... it also makes the common mistake of denying sexism towards females where it undeniably has/does exist. This does not help MRAs or anyone else. "I don't need a man, but I demand that I am paid just as much as man, even if I'm a worse employee". This is the same flawed argument used against affirmative actions for blacks, etc. "Colorblind" philosophy is a problematic when, whadya know, it just so happens that all white people were deemed more competent …

People are shocked at every school shooting. These girls are being tried as adults. The only comment pertaining to gender was "You just don't see it at that age and especially not in girls", which isn't all that surprising considering historically more shootings are committed by boys. The "sympathetic excuses" of the sensationalist title are completely standard - this "why'd they do it?" speculation goes anytime a child commits murder. TLDR there is no reason for this article to be on this sub. …

This whole #yesallwomen controversy is completely irrelevant, and is just a round about way of continuing the basic premise of the MRAs vs. Feminists arguement. Feminists feel we live in a patriarchal society and that men who deny this are unaware of their privilege and feel defensive when presented with these ideas. So, what it comes down to of course, is whether you agree or not. To use your black analogy, it is much more appropriate to pretend we're in the south during Jim Crow days. Blacks c…

To me, it seems like a very good reason to reassess how a successful male is portrayed in our culture; very often aggressive, non-empathetic, etc. What's more, dispelling stereotypes about "what a male should be" is completely in line with MRA philosophy, and would probably help decrease violence acts committed by males.

And what defines a PUA? Your claim is a textbook example of no-true-scottsman fallacy. If he was active in those communities, he was a PUA. Just because he was a complete psychopath doesn't change that fact. Note that I am not attributing his actions to this. But unfortunately, his behavior is being justified by a pathetic minority of the PUA community, leading some to believe that the movement may subtly nudge the already-crazy towards acts of this nature. Just as extremist feminists tend to ta…

it also connotes that the girl doing the 'friendzoning' is doing something morally blameworthy I never thought of it that way, I just thought it was a common enough experience among men that many could relate to the frustration, hence a little nickname developed. But yes, I've certainly seen taken way too far. Things like "Don't even put up with bitches who friend zone you...". I see it all the time in the PUA community, it's not nearly as uncommon as MRAs like to think.

I think this fight may never pick up steam because, frankly, most men don't want to wear skirts - and not just because it is ingrained, I think they legitimately just don't find the idea comfortable or appealing. Then again, I kind of like the thought of it... Also, how much of a "fight" is it really? Is it currently disallowed at school, or in the workplace? The kilt is, already, pretty accepted in areas with more diversity.
