Understood, and it would be accurate in the context of simple and clear. In the context of the discussion, well, those were my thoughts. :) I've been around far too many who rationalize to insane degrees in order to believe what they're comfortable with. If I missed your point, I apologize.

Agreed. I don't want to see women degraded or put on display for a laughing stock. What I do want is to reverse and stop the culture of man-hating and erosion of men's rights that has been increasing for the past few decades. The worst that could happen is that we become (or even appear to be) a rabble of old-world misogynists after all.

That's exactly right, seabass341. If you're only permitted to think or speak one way, the entire movement stagnates. Open discussion, questioning, and even dissent are necessary to progress. I know many women who are fed up with the feminist movement. My perception is that they feel this way because of the militant anti-man temperament that pervades it. These people, though they believe in equality, do not identify themselves as feminists because they appreciate the merits of both sexes.

It's much more complex than this. If everyone used the logic of steps 1 thru 4, there would be a lot less nonsense in general. When working with humans, Cognitive Dissonance and the Endowment Effect are big factors. How attached was Bob to X? Most Bobs will learn Y, and then either find a way to be okay with it along with X, or find reasons to persist in believing X, no matter how correct and obvious Y may be.

Hardly matters in a culture where a man is presumed guilty of anything a woman accuses him of. The worse the alleged abuse, the more readily it's believed. Women deserve equality, but not to be bullies!
