I think when things start to get "real", like when you're starting to plan a date, women know they're going to have to put in actual effort (get dressed up, drive somewhere, etc) and they ask themselves if they really like you enough to take the risk of meeting someone they meet online and if they actually want to put in a few hours of effort to meet you.
