Let me know how all this works out with you then lmao. This subreddit is also not gender specific, plenty of women look for help here too although it’s mostly men. As a woman who has been on my fair share of dates and had a jolly good time in my single days, I’m trying to make you aware of things that used to frustrate me to no end. Totally up to you as to whether you’ll take it or not. All the best to you dude.

Thanks for explaining to me what I already understand yet continue to disagree with. Words and points emphasised by a paragraph are tremendously telling to the attitudes behind the words. Again, no mention was ever once made to the most crucial step: “hey is this woman interested in me and giving off signs of disinterest or potential discomfort towards this random dude before I go do anything first?” It’s literally the most important thing here and unfortunately, it’s something many guys seem to…

No not really, everyone seems to be focusing on how to win the girl back away from the “competition”, rather than being perceptive to what she wants. Muscling in on “YOUR” game. MAKE him look creepy. Regaining CONTROL. Where on earth does she fit in here? It’s not your game. You shouldn’t be aiming to make him look creepy, you should be looking to her for signs of her wanting him (or you) around or not! Its a gross attitude. Terminology like alpha and beta is equally as cringe. Women are people …

Man I cringe so hard when y’all men start to pull this “alpha beta male” bs. It’s so clear what guys are trying to do when they pull this stuff and it’s a huge turn off. Doesn’t come across as confident at all it comes across as possessive. In saying that it depends on tone. if I’m actually flirting with someone I’m interested in and some random comes up to me mid-chat thats fucking rude and uncomfortable as hell and I would appreciate an excuse to fuck them off. That’s the only time the “is thi…

Big nooo from me. if I was talking to someone and they did that to someone I’d think very lowly of them. It’s pretty obvious what they’re trying to do and I’m not something that can be possessed and fought over.

As a woman my advice is just don’t. I go to the gym as a safe space for me time and nothing else. Unless she’s actually starting the conversations and showing all signs of wanting to interact and be friendly, please leave us alone. Even if she does want to talk keep it strictly on topic please! If she leads it elsewhere, lucky you! But for the love of god PLEASE please don’t be that guy that turns a casual 30 second chat about equipment into an attempted date.

Sometimes people need to chase an outcome before they realise what they actually want. Without being exposed to such experiences, it’s hard to discern what self-expression means to them.

Cool idea, boring, stock standard question I’d have 0 interest in answering from a stranger. An equally simple suggestion: “Hey, sorry to bother but if you have two minutes, I don’t really come out here often and I’m looking to explore! Any recommendations for things to see and do?” If they respond well, it opens up a dialogue of them either asking you about your interests or them telling you about things they find interesting. Way more engaging way of finding potential common ground to launch a…

Sure :) I can see what you’re saying. I am just saying that it’s not always the case and things are changing!

I think this post is more about picking up women on a night out. 100% everyone should make an effort in a real relationship but you’d be lying if you said that taking the lead wouldn’t work in this scenario. As I said, same with a woman wanting to pick up tbh, if you want it go and get it don’t wait for the other person. Many of these tips are genderless when applied to a night out pick up situation. Relationships are way more 50/50. You sound very bitter and seem to paint women all in the same …

As an extremely outgoing woman who has no qualms about making moves, the reason I’m attracted to assertive guys is I need someone to match my energy or I feel like I’m carrying the encounter by myself and get exhausted and disinterested fairly quickly if I can’t see it’s gonna be at least a 50/50. Making moves is genderless advice and all humans looking for romance and sex should make the effort.

Same here! Was so ready to hate but it’s all pretty decent advice.

If you’re too shy to just outright say it, try and create an environment that supports it. If you’re on a night out with friends, invite her to the afterparty hosted at your place. Touch goes a really freaking long way too. I actually hate overly sexual comments most of the time as I get very self-conscious and I know I’m not the only woman who’s like that. I’m not talking creepy touch, I just mean a gentle hand brush here and there, an elbow or arm nudge/touch, attentive eye contact while you s…

If you don’t naturally joke like that don’t fake it. People flirt in different ways. Not all girls react well to too many sexual comments. I for one get very uncomfortable, even if I like the guy I just don’t know how to respond! If words aren’t your thing use body language and gentle, intentional yet non-invasive touch to show your interest e.g. eye contact, a gentle elbow touch or nudge, if well reciprocated then go for the waist. Please be extra mindful of her response. If she doesn’t recipro…

As a loud, outgoing woman, I’m not afraid of taking the lead at all and have made the first move countless times. BUT. My extraversion is exactly why I prefer an assertive date. I’m so used to being in control that it gets very tiring after a while, and if my date can’t match my energy, it becomes a burdensome pressure and I quickly lose interest.

I disagree. I get where you’re coming from but asking for my number instantly will definitely put me off (unless they are ridiculously hot). I’m very much a person attracted to cheekiness, playful humour and charisma. If I haven’t had the chance to laugh at your joke or pay attention to how you interact with the world, It’s highly likely I haven’t thought about my attraction to you at all (that’s just my take). I also feel suspicious. If they haven’t had a chance to really interact with me then …

I think there’s a huge difference between a drink or two and a wildly fancy date or financing someone’s whole night to the excess. I’ve had many over the top first meetings/dates, and having someone spend too much on me makes me so uncomfortable and exerts massive pressure for me to reciprocate. Causes me to shut down and distance myself! I do like it when a guy pays for the first date or so tbh, but only if it’s reasonably priced & onwards from there I do prefer to split. Offer to buy a drink i…

As a woman, I have to say I think this list is pretty spot on. Do make these tips your own if you plan to use them. Drastic personality changes are ingenuine, exhausting and unsustainable. Work the situation to match the person rather than following blindly. 3) Taking the lead doesn’t mean being a bossy dick. It just means NOT making us think of literally all conversation topics/ideas and being open and confident about sharing your opinions and contributing ideas. DON’T shut down her ideas and a…
