The argument I am making is that the reason that women get paid less on average is because they make choices that lead to them earning less money, in the same way the reason men are a victim of violent crime more often is because they make choices that would put them in more danger. Even walking down the street at night, the fact that men may get mugged more is explained by men choosing to walk at night more, not necessarily by inherent sexism (unless you think our culture is sexist for telling men they should go out later on more, but then you would have to apply that to the pay gap too).	/r/MensRights	30/09/22 08:56 PM

I think it is hypocritical for men's rights activists to dismiss the gender pay gap as a myth since women make different choices that lead to them being paid less on average, but then complain about issues like men being a victim of violent crime more often. Yes, men are more likely to be a victim of violent crime then women. But similarly to the gender pay gap, this is probably because men make different choices then women.
