You’re wrong. They need their dad. Since my divorce I’ve lost my job, a business I started and I’m currently an Uber driver. My little girl sees none of that. She just sees a dad that no matter how bad things are going shows up for her. You can do this.

I have 50/50 custody of my daughter and while I hate beyond comprehension that I go days without seeing her, I’m convinced that the bond between us is far stronger than it would have been with no divorce. The reason is simple, when she’s with me it’s just the two of us always. All you can do now is make the best of an unfortunate situation. Turn your focus on your girls.

You just have to accept it, no other choice. Do not let it affect the time with your daughter. Suffer in silence so that she doesn’t have to.

Keep it simple. Just say Happy Birthday. She isn’t who she was to you, remember that. I’m 4 years in and the last two birthdays we said nothing to each other.

Stand tall and stand proud. When the dust settled a child will not measure a parent’s love by how much they spent but rather how much they showed up. Be there. I do simple things with my daughter like the playground and the beach, but I actually play with her. I can’t compete with her mother’s money but I can love on more than equal footing.

I can respect that. And I agree, the pain can be beyond comprehension.

You’re fighting a losing battle. Focus on your time with the child, it’s the only part you control.

I’m in the same boat as you. Moved 1200 to my now ex-wife’s hometown, married and had a child only to divorce when she was 1. This spring will be 4 years and I’m still completely and totally alone. I thankfully have 50/50 and cherish the time with my little girl. Despite not seeing her every day I feel like we’ve bonded to a higher level than we would have if the marriage didn’t fail. Fight for that and make sure you treat your ex as though your daughter sees and hears it all. DM me if you need …

This line says it all…But the man you’re becoming? He’s forged in this fire. 4 years in April for me. I will never again be who I was. It’s sad.

About to hit the 4 year mark early next year and I’m in about the same place. I’m not depressed but I’m also not happy. I exist one day at a time and have learned the only person I can truly count on is myself. It gets easier but it doesn’t get better.

Exactly the same situation for me. One month away from three year mark and I have zero interest in dating.

If she inherited that house while you were married it’s as much yours as it is hers, DO NOT LEAVE.

Rough one, but my advice would be don’t punish any of the kids, they did nothing wrong. If you run into her in front of them be cordial and no more. If you run into her without them, full on ignore, she earned it for her role in tearing apart a family.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
