It's an interesting article. If I had been the interviewer I might have made one additional observation. In order to equalize (or even raise) the value of reproduction to the level of production, feminists would have to give up touting abortion. There is nothing that devalues reproduction like having the ability to opt out.

definition of utilitarianism from dictionary.com: "the ethical doctrine that virtue is based on utility, and that conduct should be directed toward promoting the greatest happiness of the greatest number of persons." This is an oversimplification, but captures the spirit of the philosophy. I can certainly relate to the author's disappointment, but the fact that his son is cis-gendered is definitely his own fault. It is easy to see that he sabotaged the plan. At least twice he refers to his son as "he" instead of "xe" indicating, at the very least a subconscious desire for a son and potentially a desire for grandchildren. Thus, the happiness of the majority should always take precedence over all else. In this instance the whole isn't equal to the sum of its parts. Rodger was both a misogynist and a misandrist. That would seem to equat to misanthrope. but not quite. He hated men and women for different reasons. He hated women for their rejection of him. He hated men for their masculinity. Actually, I think you are confusing the term with "bitch" as that is what you are describing. A slut does sleep with lots of men.
