Agreed. Pretty much any MMA fighter worth his salt has a BJJ or at least a wrestling background nowadays. I hated practicing BJJ, but that's just me. I prefer muay thai. That being said, I know pretty much any of the guys that practice it in our gym could take me down no problem. Most guys probably wouldn't expect someone to shoot for their legs and get dumped during a street fight.

I think most everyone here that suggests "lift heavy shit and put it back down" are more for the aesthetic purposes of looking good and being in better shape than what you were. Nothing wrong with that. I think self defense/martial arts is a separate issue, but I agree that it is something everyone should practice. However, if you get into kickboxing/muay thai or jiu jitsu hardcore and want to fight or compete, you will have to dial back on the weight lifting.

That's what we tell a lot of people that train at our muay thai gym. Learn to loosen up, go dancing. Helps with footwork too.

I feel like the family/friends (mainly family tho) is the worst part of a breakup. I have been lucky in that most of my relationships ended amicably, but the few that didn't...it was better just to avoid everyone for a while. You would think your own family would take your side and respect your decision, but that would just be too damn rational wouldn't it?

Never married, but I used to brag about being a hopeless romantic to chicks. Still hurts to think about shit I used to say to girls.

Went to a BJJ/Muay Thai seminar where a guy was teaching both. He had supposedly competed in the Vale Tudo before. One of the nicest guy I've met, but those kicks.....my legs ache just thinking about it.

So if you want to try enterpreneurship, live in Muay Thai camp in Thailand, ... I mean WHATEVER do it and just don't ever wait for fucking perfect moment - it will never come, except to those who dare to not wait for it and instead take their shot right here and right now. Damn son. I've been going back and forth about whether or not I should go to Thailand to train in Muay Thai. You some kind of psychic? Fine. Guess I'm going to Thailand.

Went out with friends to the bar Saturday night. I didn't invite the LTR since I was just wanting a night out with friends. She texts me yesterday asking why I didn't ask her to go out with me. Also asked if I found her boring (comfort test). Usually, I would have gone the whole beta spiel apologizing and saying I'll invite her next time. I stopped myself. I simply said "I like to go out on my own sometimes." She didn't like it, but accepted that. I also told her I didn't find her boring, answer…

For the lazy: Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend. – Bruce Lee One of my favorite quotes of his. I think a lot of Bruce's JKD teachings and philosophies can be applied to TRP. Another nugget of his: There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must…

As a fellow millennial, Mountain Dew would pair better with a nice zebra cake or goldfish.

Just like Theopaulson said, time management. I'm also lifting weights and do Muay Thai at a local MMA gym with a full-time job. I much prefer doing the MT for cardio over running any day. I would think even if you're just focused on bodybuilding you'd have to have some cardio somewhere in there.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
