He was social dynamite, a fantastic debater, a natural writer, awesome public speaker, hugely knowledgeable about a wide range of topics... He may have been married but crikey, not many more gentleman conjure an image as perfect for an RP icon.

Congratulations. You established the lie of the land; planned solidly and delivered perfectly - something that RP-ers could be well advised to do in a range of life's challenges. Enjoy your success.

"2 fucking painters" - I did laugh at that. Strikes images of two blokes getting ready to coat a garden fence. I think you're making a point in a debate that wasn't happening. This wasn't a post about "who were the most influential humans, ever?"; it was a post about an RP-er providing insight following a visit to Barcelona and two artists who were/are extremely influential and revered in the history of human culture.

The kid could quite literally be "good" but in the context of the problems and topics that are discussed in TRP, he's got a lot of work ahead of him. Perhaps he is both nice and a straight up Alpha, who doesn't need any help with the ladies. Perhaps he will never need TRP or even have the kind of worries/questions/desires that brought all of us here. However, if he does (and I bet he will) actions like that are only going to nurture a BP worldview that will see him doormatted, hurt, angry and wo…

Same story for me. The worst part about it (and is mentioned in at least one of the sidebar articles) is that as you feel yourself becoming more unhappy, the girls you want to fuck; your family; your friends... they all provide you with the same, copy/paste advice that will only make things worse: "You're amazing!" - "You'll find your princess!" - "You're the nicest guy I ever met!" - "You don't need to change!" - "Just be yourself!" - "Why aren't more guys like you!?" Most people think they are…

Four extremely solid comments that should be essential reading for any RP-er who is still in the 'anger' or early stages. The sidebar articles expand brilliantly on these issues, however I do not think I have seen them condensed so well.

I can only echo the words of others. Reading posts like this helps with attitude, sticking to the long term plans and believing in the journey. Top work, man; keep it up.

I doubt there was enough room.

I love Larkin. I am by no-means a Larkin scholar either but he has written some of my favourite poetry. Home is So Sad: "Home is so sad. It stays as it was left, Shaped to the comfort of the last to go As if to win them back. Instead, bereft Of anyone to please, it withers so, Having no heart to put aside the theft And turn again to what it started as, A joyous shot at how things ought to be, Long fallen wide. You can see how it was: Look at the pictures and the cutlery. The music in the piano s…

I wish I had this to read when I was breaking up with my last GF. TRP can provide "Eureka" moments, however they are only genuine if you act upon them, learn from them and live life from that point forward, kith that knowledge in mind.

"After last night I must admit I am more attracted to her than I thought and I am trying to get over the idea of getting with her again." Bad idea. Really bad idea. She's using you. She's toxic for you. The very fact that you're "considering" getting with someone like this again is a red flag that you should learn from, not run into. Don't end up reading your own post in a month, a year or whatever and think "What was I doing?" - make the right choice now and focus on your own life.

Thank you, OmLaLa. Word fodder was a really bad habit of mine. I think it is a natural bad habit for "Nice GuysTM" and natural BP-ers because they (and I, in the past) are so bloody keen to avoid looking 'predatory'. In truth, that is exactly how you need to come across and definitely how you should come across - if the rest of your 'package' (snort) is in good shape. If you are earning, learning, lifting and glowing with the light that a decent life provides, a girl will want that successful al…
