I swear in some of these FRs I can't see the trees for the forest. Changing scope from an entire night to a single example of strategic maneuvering really helps new folks bridge the gap from PUA to TRP.

You appear to be arguing that it's okay because they do it, too. That's fine for you, I suppose, but I personally don't want to stoop to their level. "Shit lord", "rape culture," and "sperm donor" all sounds immature at best. It's like calling your parents "The Rents." We're not 15 anymore. Ultimately I'm not telling any TRPerto change how they talk. But there are some folks - like me - who subscribe to the ideas without feeling that it's necessary to glom onto the vernacular. It's tropey and st…

Some of the vocabulary only really serves to provoke SJWs, and it doesn't really help us understand each other better - in my opinion. I accept others probably disagree, but I don't really care. It works for me without the pointlessly inflammatory vernacular. But in the spirit of TRP I usually keep those thoughts to myself and communicate in a way I prefer, letting others do the same. I only mentioned it because of the OP's meta question. I can't imagine that anyone would deny that the vocabular…

You're basically saying we need to put the "feelz" of Reddit's general population ahead of our frank, honest discourse. If I had another criticism of TRP, it's that they all-too-often put words in the mouth of unpopular commentors when the message doesn't fit the mainstream narrative.

I don't disagree about anything you said, but the question is why do people bash it, and frankly, it's a marketing problem that stems from being so deliberately non-PC. I think we take it too far sometimes, but I'm not about to tell anyone to change it. How abrasive any TRPer wants to be is up to them and no one else. I try to stay away from the vernacular that is particularly, unnecessarily, inflammatory. I think it helps bring new people around. But that's just, like, my opinion.

I'm 23 and I went from a fat to thin and even have some muscles. I work out every other day and eat healthy. I graduated from college and have a great job in my field of study with good pay. I have talents and hobbies and I do things for myself. You're better than 90% of your competition after that paragraph. As you get older, you'll lose that edge as more of your male peers get or are promoted to reasonable jobs. Lots of men start working out in the late 20s when they notice metabolism slowing.…

My biggest criticism of TRP is that some of the vocabulary makes the philosophy unpalatable to people who've been raised to avoid saying such things. And they're largely unnecessary. It's almost like TRP is on a mission to be as politically incorrect as possible, even at the cost of self-vilification. I realize TRP is the worst place to say, "don't use that word!", but we don't have to be complete jerks when we're talking about TPR. We can say orbiter instead of emotional tampon, or rationalize …

Look at the link in the very first line. I wrote the rest in response to that.

Sometimes people on this sub are too quick to criticize. You were clear that you're making her a plate. It isn't beyond us, as men, to sometimes regret what must be done, or the potential that has been lost. Such regret, however, is neither unmanly nor unwarranted.

Better: get a law degree, practice divorce, and take newly divorced female clients. Minimal work to win, have your pick of the lot - the twentysomethings that got married out of high school or college, then divorced by 30. Screw over the ones that really deserve it.

I'm late to this party, but I have to say I'm mostly with you. I have broken up a fight between two women before. It was back in high school. The fight broke out right in front of me and I reflexively strode between them. The smaller girl took a vicious initial blow and was immediately out with a broken nose, so really all I did was keep Land-Whale from causing more damage. The moment I was between them, Land-Whale started attacking me. I threw no blows, only blocked punches with my books until …

Edit: The now-deleted question above was "Why is this being downvoted?" Alright, I'll bite, though I'm not one of the folks downvoting you two. It's low effort feedback with no bearing. Calling someone pretentious is like calling someone a hipster. There is no way to do it without having the word reflected within yourself. If you care that much about what is hipster/pretentious, well... I don't actually have any idea why he thinks its pretentious. Because I said "half decade" instead of "5 years…

I knew she was a cheater when I first met her, but of course, "I've changed," was the song she sang. The low sex drive developed over time, and from what I hear is still a problem for the poor new guy in her life. Her issue was that, when drunk, she'd do just about anything to get attention and feel valued. It's sort of how I ended up with her. And when I told her not to get drunk, it was all, "You don't own me! Feminism!" Eh, I know better now.

Who the fuck cares if it's real or fake? The point is that when rejecting a girl, you do not continue the conversation after making your intentions clear. Leave her presence, stop texting back, and document threats as well as you are able.

I think the issue isn't what the guy decides to do. Fuck it, I'm not going to judge him if he wants to pursue her for an LTR. That's one less guy to compete against, and he's tying down a woman who could be dangerous if she were desperate. And lastly, as others have said, her condition certainly weights the scale in his favor. There is a lot of good information in that thread about the chance of infection and possible life consequences, painted both in positive and negative lights. I think we ca…

It's often said here that you have to make some concessions if you want to succeed at an LTR. In this guy's case, taking a break once every couple of weeks, going off-diet, and drinking a bottle of wine with his wife would probably help a lot.

You need to update with what the roommate does when you tell him.

You should censor their names. Not that people here give a fuck, but if you were reported the admin could count it as doxing.

If you're using RES, press "." then type "srstyle off" and press enter.

Somehow I assumed that your style would be to end the relationship, then make a plate/FB out of her a few weeks later if she tried to get in touch, but to never initiate contact again. Provided there are condoms, you're snipped, etc, of course. Otherwise that's a trap.
