This is not earth-shattering news to women, nor are most women denying this. We have been shouting from the rooftops that women are, in fact, people, just like men, for ages now. Some people do bad things. It's part of human nature that a percentage of people--men and women alike--will display anti-social behavior.

Committed relationships don't necessarily mean marriages. Lots of people are in long-term relationships without being married.

Even in the past, most relationships didn't usually begin through the man cold-approaching the woman, who, at the time, was a complete stranger. That was never the norm.

The average age gap in relationships is only 2-3 years. The majority of relationships do not have a significant age gap. Most women do not want to date much older men.

All of my long-term relationships (5 in total) were with men who started out as friends. Now, these guys weren't super close friends in the sense that we would talk every day and hang out on a one-on-one basis, but they were guys that I knew through my social circles and we would often hang out and party on the weekends in mixed-gender groups.

For me, it’s very telling how so many men claim that they don’t care about a woman’s education or career, or sometimes if she even has a job. For those men (and it seems to be a lot of them), a woman’s looks and her “agreeableness” (sometimes phrased differently) are all they care about.

As a survivor of both sexual assault and domestic violence, nothing infuriates me more than people who downplay our lived experiences or treat us as though we are paranoid or irrational. When you say that it’s “frustrating AF,” I couldn’t agree more. I’ve experienced violence men who were both intimate partners and men who were complete strangers to me. I don’t hate all men or even think the majority of men are bad, but it irritates me to no end when my experiences (and those of other women) are…

You do realize that at age 26, some people are just getting started in their careers, right? Take someone who went to graduate or law school. They very likely aren't going to have the income just yet to be financially self-sufficient. And that's just one example.

So you would be okay with being in a potentially sexless marriage? Because if the woman doesn't genuinely desire you and want to be with you, you're mostly going to have issues in the bedroom.

I am a thin woman who is a mother. I take an antidepressant to ease my anxiety, which I've dealt with for all of my adult life. You have have some really ignorant assumptions about this matter. It's not only fat, childless, single women who are on antidepressants.

Many middle-aged women take antidepressants to help with the depression and anxiety that often comes along with perimenopause and menopause.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/26 08:52 PM

According to US census data, only 14.9% of women aged 45 and older are childless. In 2014, 16.7% of women aged 45 and older were childless, so there are actually fewer childless women now than there were a decade ago. Women are simply having kids later in life, and they are having fewer children--often just 2.

Do you think that this is new/recent behavior? Before feminism, men sometimes used to have whole ass second families that were kept secret. Or sometimes the other woman (and often children) were known to the men's wives, but there really wasn't much the wives could do about it. Even if the woman could prove fault in divorce court due to infidelity, which wasn't an easy feat, it was extremely difficult back then for women to survive financially on their own (and contrary to popular belief, alimon…

It’s actually not an uncommon scenario, usually when the wife is a SAHM. I’m in a lot of mom/women groups on various social media, and the amount of women who experience financial abuse is not low. Some housewives/SAHMs don’t even get an allowance, and they have to essentially beg for anything they need, let alone want.

Gang members and criminals are often surrounded by women who are drug addicts, prostitutes, or criminals themselves. Those women are far more likely than other women to be promiscuous and engage in impulsive, risk-taking behavior. So it's really no surprise that the men you described have far more sex partners than the average man.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/26 08:58 PM

Lol It's super common for middle-aged divorced women to forego dating altogether. They often don't want anything to do with men. And many never married older women are perfectly content with their friendships, too. It's the middle-aged divorced men and older single, never married men who are more often desperate for relationships.

And the guy you’re responding doesn’t need to worry about physical and sexual assault from those random women pestering him nearly as much as women do when random men pester them trying to get their attention. For women, it’s sometimes viewed as threatening, depending on the level of harassment.

But this doesn't really have anything to do with casual sex, specifically. Lots of men aren't virgins and have been in long-term serious relationships but haven't had loads of casual sex.

"most are also fine waiting for sex and below average men would wait indefinitely" Hahahaha, no. The majority of men, regardless of their looks, are not okay with waiting to have sex beyond a couple of dates.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/26 10:32 PM
3

I don't think that's due to lack of success in dating for the women who've been previously married or partnered much of the time. It's common for divorced women, in particular, to opt out of dating altogether. I see it all the time in some of the divorce groups I'm a part of.

Doesn't the data show that even though men swipe on a much higher percentage of women, they send the majority of their messages to the most attractive women? Men even outright say that they swipe on a large number of women without even looking at their profiles because it's a "numbers game." Then if they get matches, they filter out the women they don't like. So I don't think swiping patterns alone really tell too much.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/26 10:12 PM

I’ve never had a man I’ve dated ask about my body count or past relationship experience in the early stages of dating. This seems to be a new trend, because I’m in my mid-forties, and nobody outside of those within certain religious communities would ask such questions 20 or 30 years ago. If a guy I was newly dating now asked about my body count, I wouldn’t lie but I wouldn’t answer, either, because I would know right then and there that he wasn’t someone I’d want to date. It screams either very…

"Women should be relegated to a role of official spectators while men show their gladiatorial prowess, because that's what they already do." Your power fantasies are something else, man. Men like you are just irate that women no longer need to tether themselves to awful guys in order to survive. So you can view women as inferior all you want, but the majority of men have moved on from the backward ass mentality.

Interesting. With how common it is for men to have major anger problems and punch holes in the wall, scream, or assault their partners, I'm not buying that many men don't act like children by throwing major tantrums when they don't get their way.

It's so very obvious that a lot of the guys in this sub have never been in a relationship. Most relationships these days are egalitarian, but to hear these guys talk, you'd think they are some statistical anomaly.

Respect is a two-way street. One of the reasons the divorce rate is high is that women don’t feel valued and respected in their marriages. You might insist on leading, but lost women aren’t interested in that dynamic. And for good reason. We aren’t children and don’t need our romantic relationships to be modeled after a parent-child dynamic where one person has authority over the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/26 11:04 PM

I’m not sure which country you’re from, but the US doesn’t really have parental leave to speak of. There’s FMLA, but it’s only for a maximum of 12 weeks, and companies don’t have to pay anything during that time so many women have to go back to work extremely soon (sometimes within just days of giving birth). Every other developed country in the world offers robust, paid leave.

If it was a fundamental need to survive, then all of these women who are single would voluntarily date whichever men are available. But they aren't choosing doing that. If they can't find a man they really want to date, they remain single. So this shows that romantic relationships aren't a fundamental need.

No it’s not. Most people do not want their romantic relationships to resemble that of a parent-child relationship. It’s fucking weird. It’s also weird that some people think the man should be the leader in the relationship. Again, this resembles a parent-child dynamic and seems totally inappropriate for an adult relationship. Most of us want egalitarian relationships where both partners pull their own weight and work together to compromise on matters.

Most states have gone to default 50/50 custody, unless one of the parents has proven to be abusive or has documented substance abuse problems. There are different ways to implement 50/50 custody. A common way is by doing week-on/week-off (child goes to one parent for a week, and then the other parent for a week, and then continue on the pattern).
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 11:54 PM

I am a divorced single mom. Just because I coparent with my ex-husband doesn't mean I'm not a single mom.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/26 10:16 AM

You seem to be under the impression that most single moms had kids with men they had one-night stands with or very brief relationships with. In fact, a very significant percentage of single mothers were once married. Many were married to their exes for many years before divorce happened for any number of reasons.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/26 11:13 PM

I am a single mother because my husband had an affair and left me for the woman after I got sick with a chronic health condition. So I didn’t “choose” to become a single mom. He left after 18 years together, and I had no inclination that he would ever do such a thing. Edit: I just wanted to add that my ex and I share 50/50 custody of our son. So it’s not like my son is without his dad.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/26 11:09 PM

It always amuses me how so many conservatives view liberals as having that stereotypical look of "short blue hair, covered in tattoos, septum ring, and obese." Like, I am a liberal but men often think I'm a country-music-loving conservative because I look very stereotypically feminine--I'm thin/toned with long blonde-ish hair, and I like to wear makeup and curl my hair. Most of the liberal women I know don't look like what these guys in this sub imagine.

20 years ago, I was attacked while jogging on a bike path and nearly raped. My attacker was a typical middle-aged white guy. Fortunately, someone else came long the path as the guy was on top of me and pulled him off, or I don't know if I would have only been raped or possibly even murdered. My attacker fled but was later apprehended and went on to serve 3.5 years in prison.

I lurk in a couple of conservative tradwife groups on FB. You're absolutely spot-on with conservatives thinking "it couldn't happen to me." I see this play out frequently in those groups when someone mentions if other stay-at-home moms/tradwives have prepared ahead in the event of a potential future divorce. Many women will claim that they don't need to have a backup plan in place because they chose the right husbands and so divorce will never happen to them. Of course, nobody goes into marriage…

"The overwhelming majority of women(at least US based) love Older men." If this were the case, then there would be a lot more marriages and relationships with an age gap of 10 or more years, but there aren't.

Alimony is only awarded in 10% of divorces now. And even if it is awarded, it's often not that much money because your average breadwinner husband doesn't make that much to begin with. The majority of women who were SAHMs and were later faced with divorce struggle a great deal, at least for the first few years after the divorce (if not longer).

Most women work to the end of their pregnancy and take a short maternity leave (in the US at least). I took 8 weeks off, which were fully paid by company, and then I was right back to work. Not all companies pay employees during their maternity leave, but my point still stands that most women just take a short, company-approved leave from work. Working women aren't taking years off and losing their skills set or damaging their chances at a promotion or raise.

I recently went through a divorce. I joined a number of divorce support groups, some of which were women only. Everything you’ve said is 100% how reality plays out for the majority of women who were SAHMs/homemakers. Alimony is relatively rare. And even when it’s awarded, it’s not much money because the average man doesn’t earn that much money in the first place. The only women making it big after divorce are the former wives of very wealthy men.

I agree that the average woman’s libido is lower than the average man’s. However, women’s libidos typically peak in their mid-thirties to early-forties rather than their twenties. Just wanted to point that out.

Something like 1 in 4 women have been the victim of an attempted or completed rape at some point during their lives. I'm included in that 25% statistic. Sexual assault happens more often than some guys like you (who aren't rapists and can't imagine doing something like that) think.

Same. When I’m at the gym, I’m typically there to run 5 or 6 miles on the treadmill and maybe do a bit of strength training, and I end up getting quite sweaty. So I definitely don’t like people up in my personal space at the gym, probably more so than other places. I’m there for a reason—not to socialize and certainly not to set up dates.

Whenever I see posts like OP’s or comments like yours, I always sense that there is a misunderstanding at play. There are different types of “bad” boys: there’s the genuinely bad type of guy who is violent or involved in serious criminal activity, and then there’s the party guy type who isn’t really a bad person but definitely likes to get wild sometimes. Far more women are interested in the second type of dude than the first.

The definition of “incel” has changed over the years. To be an incel, a man is not only involuntarily celibate, but he also espouses misogynistic viewpoints. So, not all male virgins (or men who struggle to date/sleep with women) are incels. In the examples you’ve given, you don’t go into detail about whether or not Billy and Dorothy are hateful toward the opposite gender due to their lack of success with sex and dating. If they aren’t hateful, then they aren’t an incel or femcel.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/25 01:51 PM

It's always so bizarre to me when I see this type of argument, because it operates from the assumption that women don't work or have their own assets. It's 2025; not 1970. In a decent percentage of modern marriages (45% of marriages, in fact), the husband is not the sole or primary breadwinner. If those couples were to divorce, the man wouldn't lose half of "his" assets, because both partners have assets. Either the couples would end up breaking even, or in some situations, the woman would lose …

And in some situations, couples stagger their work schedules so that one partner is always home with kids.

You are completely out of touch with reality. Here’s a dose of reality for you: In 45% of American marriages, the husband is neither the sole nor primary breadwinner. (Source: Pew Research) The above figure continues to climb as time goes on. And in some metro areas, young women are now out-earning young men. You do realize that OP is specifically talking about casual sex, right, and that's why women are responding this way? If OP had focused on men being lonely and not being to get into actual relationships where they'd also presumably be having regular sex with their girlfriends, then I guarantee you the many of the comments would be different. I’ll chime in to this conversation. I’m a newly single mom and am considering dating again in the future if I can get over my social anxiety. I have one child, a 15 year-old son. At this juncture in my life, I would definitely consider dating a single dad, with the caveat that his child/children is/are over the age of maybe 8 or 9. I think all too often what gets lost in this conversation is the fact that after a certain age—say 35—many, if not most, women AND men have had children already. So the dating pool for slightly older people is just bound to have more single parents in it. It’s not just single moms looking to date.

I’ll chime in and say that a comment like that wouldn’t upset or offend me. Where I do draw the line is vulgar comments that are made inappropriately by a guy I either don’t know at all or barely know. So, for example, if a guy reaches out to me on a dating app and within the first three messages sends a dick pic and suggests wanting to fuck me, that would be off-putting. But a simple compliment is fine.

Many, if not most, women and (men) who are in their mid-thirties and above who are actively dating are divorced and already have children. A significant percentage of this dating demographic aren’t interested in having any more children, so the woman’s fertility doesn’t matter in those cases. I’m 45 and have found this to be true for me personally.

Only 26% of American women who are mothers are housewives/stay-at-home moms. So, the majority of women work. Gone are the days of the traditional relationship dynamic being the norm. Furthermore, in nearly half (45%) of marriages, the husband is not the sole or primary breadwinner. Those marriages are either egalitarian (with both partners earning roughly the same income) or the wife is the breadwinner.

I’ve never really separated guys into these two categories of long-term boyfriend/husband option versus casual hookup/FWB option. Each of the serious, long-term relationships I have had (5 in total) started out as more casual FWB situationships. Yeah so, I'm in several support groups with tens of thousands of women whose husbands had an affair and left them. It happens far, far more often than you seem to think. It happened to me, although I have a career and didn't need totally panic about my future in terms of finances. Many women who were abandoned were stay-at-homes moms, though, and most of those women ended up in very bad positions post-divorce. Some are completely destitute now.

Men are not shamed because they don’t want to date single moms or promiscuous women (or older women or fat women). They are criticized for the ways in which they shame and insult those women when stating their preferences. Here’s a common example: A guy who doesn’t want to date an overweight or obese women calls her a “disgusting landwhale.” That’s rude AF, obviously. He could easily just say, “I prefer to date thinner women.”

Right? And how often do we see men in manosphere/manosphere-adjacent spaces like this sub (or male-oriented spaces in general, like the AskMen sub) claim that that they don’t care about a woman’s career or income? Society has already made great strides in dismantling the male “provider” archetype. Let’s just look at the current statistics: As of 2022, only 55% of married American men are the sole or primary breadwinners of their families. So, nearly half of American marriages do not operate with a male breadwinner in place. In 29% of marriages, the husband and wife earn roughly the same income. Yes, and this isn’t mentioned enough during conversations about casual sex/hookups. Some people in this sub (who often self-identify as inexperienced) have this preconceived notion that the majority of hookups are pre-planned between two sober people who just met off of an app. While this surely happens sometimes, I think the likelier scenario is that there is drinking beforehand.

Some of those couples keep it casual while others decide to keep dating and end up in long-term relationships. With dating apps, people presumably don’t know each other. Many women are going to choose not to have sex on the first date with a guy from an app for the simple reason that she has to prioritize her safety. I know that I wouldn’t be…

Regarding your comment about “ancient sexual instincts” and equality, there is research available that suggests ancient people were far more egalitarian than people who came later. This is so very true. I was a teen in the 90s before the internet took off and social media was really even a thing and can confirm that young people were usually out and about doing all sorts of things. /r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 10:55 PM

I would not consider that to be a social construct, no. In my view, a social construct would mean that I felt fear as a result of consuming media about stranger attacks/assaults or hearing stories from other women and then building anxiety and fear as a result of that.

I hope CBT turns out to be tremendously helpful for you! I haven’t attempted therapy in a few years, but it’s definitely something I need to prioritize. I take medication, and while it helps with my generalized anxiety, it’s not really made much of a difference for the social anxiety. I think I’ll make an appointment this week with a therapist!

This is my main issue. I’ll be 45 in two weeks, and I have no issues attracting men of all ages. But I’ve developed godawful social anxiety over the years, and I truly can’t imagine ever actually dating again. Like, I’m pretty much a hermit.

In July of 2006, I was nearing the end of a 5-mile jog on a bike path when I was attacked by a random man. I passed by him at the beginning of my jog and thought nothing of it. He waited in the adjacent wooded area for me to loop back around the path and attacked me from my side, tackling me to the ground. He was on top of me, trying to stifle my screams and simultaneously move me into the wooded area on the other side. If it weren't for a passerby coming by, I would have been raped and possibly…

Guys who have led a similar lifestyle are the ones who are more likely not to care about. Most of the people in my friend group were party types when they were younger, and they all married men who were also partiers. Neither my husband nor myself were saints in our twenties.

Because the man could leave the wife for another woman, turn out to be abusive, become disabled, or have any number of other things happen It’s very difficult to reenter the workforce after a significant gap in employment, and a woman who has been a SAHM for 10 or 15 years is probably going to struggle a great deal after divorce. We need to squash this myth that most women are housewives right now. For the love of God, it’s not 1950 anymore. All of the data shows that the majority of women work full-time jobs, including married women who are mothers. /r/PurplePillDebate08/12/24 02:15 PM

Doesn't this seem realistic, though? If the issue is that struggling guys want the more attractive women, specifically, then yeah, it would make sense that they'd likely need to be on the more attractive end themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 11:43 PM
0

I agree with him to an extent. Most women do not have a "must be over 6'" requirement. I'm a relatively attractive woman with options, and I've never had this requirement. It's the same with most of the other women I know. With that being said, I do think there is a minimum height for some women that's closer to 5'7" or so.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 11:32 PM
3

You're referring to a dating app survey from like a decade ago. And what guys always conveniently leave out when mentioning this statistic is that women still messaged those guys they didn't automatically label as attractive, so clearly many of those women still expressed interest.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 11:07 PM
6

Even with marriage, it's still quite risky for the majority of women. Statistics show that women are far more likely to end up in poverty or severely struggling after divorce than men. Average couples don't have a great deal in assets, so your average stay-at-home mom/housewife ends up in a difficult financial predicament following divorce.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:58 PM

No, absolutely not. I’ve never preferred men with a lot of money or chased after them. I care far more about physical/sexual attraction and personality. Money does not produce desire for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 12:15 PM

You can phrase it out however you want. The point remains that husbands are not the sole or primary breadwinners in nearly half of marriages. In those egalitarian marriages, neither partner can refer to themself as the “primary” breadwinner because both of them are on equal footing.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 12:55 PM

Hygiene is critical for everyone, full stop. With that said, I’ve never been with a guy who regularly smelled like BO, even though none of my past partners shaved their armpits.

I shave my legs, pits, and pubic area simply because I can’t stand the feeling of hair growing back in. But I don’t care what other people do, and it’s ridiculous of OP to suggest that only women are unhygienic if they choose not to shave.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 01:01 PM

A very, very small percentage of women have ever done any form of sex work. In reality, young women are killing it in higher education and the workforce, as I’m sure you’re aware but pretend to be oblivious about.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 12:50 PM

In nearly half of American marriages, the husband is not he breadwinner. In those marriages, either the husband and wife earn roughly the same (29%) or the wife is the breadwinner (16%). I'll share a different perspective. I have a son who is almost 15. The vast majority of people in general (both women and men) have at least some baggage as they grow older. But everyone deals with their life experiences differently. You might view a specific woman as having baggage, but it may not really affect her like you think it does. Like, I’ve had a handful of long-term relationships. Nah, I don’t actually spend that much time here.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/24 12:14 PM

If you are advocating for men not to marry, I will assume you aren’t one to complain about the falling birth rate. Is that correct?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/24 06:34 PM
1

Interesting. I see far more young conservative talking about wanting to have the traditional relationship dynamic where they stay home and tend to the chores and childcare.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/24 04:13 PM
1

Why do you think it gets media exposure in the first place? Because it’s not normal at all and people find it shocking. Seriously, get a grip. Most women do not lust over serial killers.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/24 04:08 PM

Traditional conservative women are the ones who are far more likely to want to be 100% provided for.

Most couples are dual income with both partners working full-time. In that dynamic, couples should be sharing the domestic chores and childcare. It’s really not complicated.

I’m a recovering addict and alcoholic and have been through treatment programs before. As a result, I’ve met hundreds of other recovering addicts and alcoholics from all sorts of backgrounds, from doctors who had painkiller addictions to people with multiple felonies who have spent years in and out of prison. I mention this because through my encounters with female addicts, I learned about why male addicts are far more likely to remain homeless and on the streets. The reason is not because peopl…

I don’t necessarily agree with these other commenters. I’ve been married once, and I don’t ever want to get married again. If both partners are on board with it, I don’t see anything wrong with not marrying.

The data indicates otherwise, so obviously not.

Most women are not attracted to serial killers. 🙄 You hear about the women who are obsessed with guys like Wade Wilson precisely because it’s so rare and shocking. The majority of women want nothing to do with a guy like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/24 12:18 PM

There are also men who have publicly professed their desire for Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias. So there are crazy people of both genders.

Men here are the ones who claim that most women are in love with serial killers and drug-dealing, violent felons. It’s something we see mentioned in this sub practically every day.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 06:48 PM
2

But as others have said, all women are different. If I’ve made it clear that I’m not interested in the beginning, I mean that and I do not want the guy to continue pursuing me. That, in fact, would make me very uncomfortable. However, some women are probably okay with a bit of a chase.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 05:45 PM

Yeah, that makes sense. Totally understandable.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 04:21 PM

It’s understandable if you don’t have children of your own. I just wondered if not having to be involved with raising younger children would sway your opinion.

What if you were in your 40s or 50s and the woman had kids but they were adults? Would that charge your opinion on dating a woman with kids?

This is very age-dependent. Between ages 18 and 20, half of young men are virgins. After 22, only 7.85% of men are virgins. After 25, only 1.9% of men are virgins. https://datepsychology.com/are-27-of-young-men-really-virgins-and-why/

No, I think misandry exists. There are women who genuinely hate all men and wish terrible things upon them. But I think red pillers/manospherians often label women as misandrists for even mentioning bad experiences they’ve had with men, including sexual assault, or for suggesting that they simply don’t want to date men. That’s not misandry.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/24 12:26 PM
5

So, I’m not hearing what MRAs are doing. That was my question.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/24 12:07 PM
10

What are MRAs doing, specifically, to address the higher education issue with boys and young men? Shouting about women and feminism does not constitute doing anything productive. So what are some actionable steps they are taking to address the problem? I’d honestly be interested to hear more about this.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/24 06:50 PM
6

Yeah, seems to be the case for some. It’s just absurd to blame this on women and feminism. Boys have to actually take the initiative to apply to college in order to be admitted. We need to find out why more boys and young men don’t view college as an appealing prospect.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/24 06:47 PM
8

Then he wasn’t a friend in the first place, so good riddance to him.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/24 04:36 PM
15

“That my friend is the origin of misogyny.” You can’t be serious with that claim. Misogyny has existed for millenia, long before women even attained equal rights. Misogyny is usually rooted in feelings of male superiority and failure to view women as people.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/24 04:35 PM
11

Men falling behind in higher education is certainly a problem that needs to be addressed. But why is this the fault of feminism?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/24 02:43 PM
5

Actually, the majority of women—American women, at least—do identify as feminists. According to a recent Pew Research survey, 61% of American women describe themselves as feminists. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2020/07/07/61-of-u-s-women-say-feminist-describes-them-well-many-see-feminism-as-empowering-polarizing/

Again, the women those guys get with are generally troubled themselves. I’m a long-term recovering alcoholic. When I was in rehab years ago, I met hundreds of fellow recovering addicts and alcoholics. And you’re right that some of the guys were popular with the women. But the women were just like them—they often had criminal records and were recovering addicts and alcoholics themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/24 12:15 PM

Most of us married guys who led similar lives as we did. I don’t know one woman who ended up marrying the inexperienced beta bucks type that the manosphere mythologizes.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/24 12:12 PM
2

Yeah, this describes me well. This discussion and the comments are so interesting to me, because I'm the opposite of a late bloomer. I was very popular and sociable in high school and college (really all through my twenties), and now I'm quite introverted and don't really socialize with anyone outside of my family. I developed social anxiety over the last decade, and I fear that I will never break out of my shell again.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 06:29 PM
1

And what I’m saying is that there are plenty of men who do value those things. It’s important to them when vetting women early on while dating. The type of men who say they couldn’t care less if a woman is a cashier or a lawyer are typically not going to be viewed as great dating prospects.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 05:00 PM

Where are you getting your information from that these violent men are dating educated, middle-class or higher women? Rage-bait manosphere content does not count as evidence.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 04:55 PM
2

Who do you think those violent men with felony records are dating? It’s typically not the college-educated woman with a good career who has her life together. No, those men usually date and fuck women who have a criminal history, drug/alcohol issues, or trauma from an abusive past.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 01:15 PM

Major yikes here. 😬
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 12:15 PM

I’m often told the same thing when I discuss dating in my forties.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 10:15 PM

Nobody is saying that one should be attracted to a potential partner’s career. But there is generally an expectation that one will care about, and be supportive of, their partner’s career and accomplishment.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 06:43 PM
4

Are you serious? Those things are a fundamental part of a person’s life. Of course they are important.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 06:38 PM
2

Because a person’s career, educational background, and social standing are all important aspects of their life and who they are. When a guy says he doesn’t care about those things, it really comes across as though he doesn’t care about a woman’s accomplishments and experiences.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 05:15 PM

It’s not about trying to buy happiness. It’s about making sure that we have secure employment and income in the event that something goes wrong in our relationship or marriage. Being entirely financially dependent on someone else is such a terribly risky thing to do. Most of us personally know at least woman who was a SAHM and blindsided by divorce, and then ultimately left in a horrible predicament.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 02:39 PM

Same. The only girls I knew when growing up who were encouraged by their parents to strive to be housewives were raised in super religious homes. And this was like 30 years ago, too.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 02:29 PM
2

Yeah, I don’t know what these religious organizations expected to happen. When you’re told that your primary purpose is to serve as a “helpmeet” for your husband, it’s not exactly very appealing to many young women..

Well, lived experience is absolutely relevant for the vast majority of people. In July of 2006, I was attacked while jogging on a bike path. (My attacker was apprehended and went on to serve 3.5 years out of an 8-year sentence.) A year later, I was drugged and raped by yet another man who was a stranger. There are significant biological differences between men and women. Even a shorter, thin man can overpower the vast, vast majority of women. Also, you don’t get to speak for women and their own experiences and concerns.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/24 12:20 PM
2

The vast, vast majority of men can overpower the vast, vast majority of women. I’ve read that by the time most teen boys are like 14, they are stronger than the majority of adult women. So, size really doesn’t matter so much. A short, thin man is still going to have a very significant strength advantage over most women due to biological differences.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/24 12:15 PM

You can choose not to believe me, and you won’t because what you’re hearing doesn’t conform to your preconceived worldview about only men being screwed over. The point that most people are making here is that shitty behavior isn’t exclusive to women. There are men who do shitty things, too. It’s really a very simple concept.

Lol I’ve only known about his affair since February of this year, and neither of us formally filed until this last month. And no, I’m physically unwell. /r/PurplePillDebate23/10/24 07:50 PM

I’m going to add to my previous comment that I wrote to you about my husband leaving me: I’m 5’4” and 120 pounds, and don’t look much different body-wise now than I did 20 years ago. WRONG. My soon-to-be ex-husband is leaving me for an ex-girlfriend of his because I’ve been sick with a chronic health condition for a couple years, and that’s not fun for him, so he bailed. He’s still very much attracted to me, though, and continues to try to sleep with me any day when I’m not feeling terribly unwell (he and I still live together while the divorce is pending). Most couples will go their entire lives without needing to protect one another in a life-or-death scenario. This is such a silly thing for dudes to harp on. It’s also 2024 and anyone can learn how to use a weapon for self-defense. It’s not like we are living in the Middle Ages when men did often need to use their brute strength to protect their loved ones from warring tribes or wild animals.

I think for a lot of women, it’s not even so much about the orgasm gap as it is safety. It often doesn’t occur to men just how risky it is for women to meet up with men we don’t know very well.

This is a wild take, considering that countries that don’t have equal rights and opportunities have far worse outcomes for basically every measurable factor.

This is inaccurate. In 2022, the rates of sexual activity among young people reached highs not seen in 25 years. Only 12% of young women and 11% of young men didn’t have sex that year. This is an important distinction. I would imagine that some young guys view their relationships more as FWB-type situationships, while their female partners consider themselves to be in serious, long-term relationships.

In reality, both men and women who have all sorts of negative traits (and what’s considered negative is often subjective) end up in relationships, and typically with equally “flawed” partners. This isn’t a gendered issue.

It always strikes me as odd that so many guys here seem to think that the only ways to date are either through the dating apps or by cold-approaching complete strangers. Throughout most of history, most people dated through their social circles or through common places of interaction, like school, college, the workplace, church, or hobby groups. That is still a far more common way to date than through cold approaching.

Women could do the same thing. If you’re talking about using violence to enforce something, a woman could do the same thing to a man and then be apprehended, charged, convicted, and punished. You are not special because you have a dick.

My husband left me for a woman the same age as me. And he’s a stereotypical Chad type and easily could have dated a much younger woman. Many guys care about looks but also having things in common with their partners. A 41 year-old isn’t going to have much of anything in common with a 22 year-old.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/24 05:41 PM

Class issues aren’t discussed enough in this sub. Lower-income people in general tend to not have a lengthy list of standards they expect when seeking out partners. A quick trip to Walmart in literally any town or city will make it immediately evident that people don’t need to be anywhere near perfect in order to date and get into relationships.

Sorry for the delay! Yes to everything u/fluttertutt has said. I get a lot of generic messages from guys: “Hey there!” or “Hi! However, a guy who takes the time to read my bio and prompts and start with something more personalized is far more likely to get my attention.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/24 12:10 PM

Brute force. There's no denying that men are superior in terms of strength and physicality. However, men have never been inherently more intelligent than women. Men simply forbade women from fully participating in education and the workforce until relatively recently.

No, of course not. I have seen some people say that guys who haven't had a relationship by a certain age (say, 30) are a potential yellow flag, as some speculate as to why someone has made it that far without any relationship experience. And many would wonder about a 30+ year-old woman without any relationship experience, too. But I think most rational people would take each person on a case-by-case basis. /r/PurplePillDebate05/10/24 05:39 PM

Yeah, OP skipped over a few things. Many women have long hair, which requires a good bit of upkeep. Every other day I wash and condition my hair, and then spend about 10 minutes drying it and 20 minutes curling it. I also go to the salon once every other month to get it colored and highlighted. And then there’s my multi-step skincare routine, which I do morning and night. I rotate through about & different products. And in the morning, I spend about 10-15 minutes applying makeup. It would seem that there are more women than men who can be classified as morbidly obese. However, that doesn’t change the fact that the overall percentage of men who are either overweight or obese is similar to that of women. While these examples are awful, there are far more rapists and sexual abusers who are never even charged with crimes than there are innocent men who were wrongly accused. But you never hear men discussing this part.

Same here, but this was also nearly thirty years ago when I was that age. I was a few weeks shy of turning 17 when I lost my virginity, and I was a bit of a late bloomer compared to my friends and peers.

I’m a recovering addict and alcoholic, so I unfortunately have experience with addiction and know many people who have gone through addiction. For some, jail is preferable to homelessness. You have a roof over your head and you don’t need to worry about finding food. Others may find homelessness preferable to jail. Both situations are obviously awful.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/24 12:00 PM
2

That’s not how I view attractiveness. There is a small percentage of men that I find very attractive and a small percentage that I think are ugly. In between those extremes, the majority of men are just average in my opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/24 11:57 AM

He also doesn’t seem to understand just how bad alcoholism can be. As a recovering alcoholic, some of the saddest and worst addiction stories I’ve heard in treatment and AA rooms were told by alcoholics. Alcoholism can be every bit as awful as addiction to hard drugs.

Addicts and alcoholics will sometimes collect them and sell them for drinking or drug money.

What are you talking about? Do you even have female family members? Men are not “simping” for their mothers, wives, and daughters.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 12:05 PM

Exactly, they aren’t unique! That was my point in the first place. There are a lot of traditionally masculine men who aren’t conservatives.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 07:06 PM

Lmao, okay dude.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 07:05 PM

More than likely those guys vote Republican because they are extremely wealthy, and we all know that Republicans favor tax breaks for the wealthiest. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they hold conservative values on social issues.

1

I agree with you about clubs but bars are usually a different story.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 06:33 PM

Yeah, I should clarify that when I say that these guys are liberal, they aren’t far-left, radical types. Like, they aren’t social justice warriors or whatever. They just vote Democrat and prefer egalitarian relationships. They also support women’s causes.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 05:41 PM

Where are you getting the information that most of pro sports players are conservatives? As for your personal experiences with people you know, it just sounds like we’ve known very different types of athletic men. Maybe it’s due to different areas where we live.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 05:38 PM

Exactly! I’m from a small rural Midwestern town where the vast majority of people are conservative. And most of those people are either overweight and obese. Now I live in the suburbs of a large city where many of the residents are liberals, and the percentage of men and women who are thin and fit is much, much higher.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 05:35 PM

Anecdotes are relevant. And considering that a large chunk of guys in this sub openly admit that they have either zero friends or a very small social circle, it’s likely that they don’t even know enough people in real life to make judgments on this topic.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 04:40 PM

Lmao You don’t know these guys, so you have no idea what you’re taking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 04:37 PM

Listen buddy, a D1 college football player is going to be stronger and more athletic than the vast majority of men. You can cite sources all day long for all I care. I’m simply sharing my experiences, which indicate that some liberals are traditionally masculine in terms of physical prowess.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 04:36 PM

Again, this has not been my experience, nor has it been my observation of other men I’ve known. My ex-husband, for example, is a life-long Democrat who champions liberal social causes, and he was a collegiate football player. That’s about as traditionally masculine as you can get. Another ex of mine was a star wrestler, and he was also a liberal.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 03:16 PM

Most of the guys I’ve dated and been in relationships were current or former high school or collegiate athletes who were also liberal. This notion that only conservative men can have traditionally masculine physical features and capabilities is false.

The majority of men have women in their lives whom they love enough to protect their rights and autonomy should there ever be a group of men come together and try to subjugate women.

Statistics show that college-educated people earn more on average than people with a high school diploma or GED. So, if we are measuring success by earned income, then having a college degree is likely to make one more successful than others.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 04:08 PM

I hate the process of dating, too, due to my social anxiety. It’s so nerve-wracking. In the past, I always dated guys who were part of my social circle. Now that I’m single again after many years of being married, I am trying the dating apps for the first time, and the thought of going on dates with strangers is so very stressful. So, I completely understand where you’re coming from.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 03:52 PM

Of course people are deciding whether or not they find a particular person attractive or not. But most are not evaluating prospective dates along some rigid 1-10 rating scale, and then determining whether that person is their “looksmatch.”

I also had flexibility in my career to work remotely often and was able to spend plenty of time with my son. I think there should be a move to recruit more teachers and make the profession more appealing to men. I’m absolutely all on board for that. I disagree that men are being shut out of the profession, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 12:30 AM

I highly doubt that’s a major factor for most men considering employment options. It’s mostly that teachers don’t get paid worth shit, and teaching isn’t considered a high enough status job.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 07:55 PM

Men often don’t want to be teachers because the pay is quite low. If we increased wages for teachers, I bet that a lot more men would be interested in choosing teaching as their profession.

I don’t personally have an issue with extreme age gaps so long as the younger partner isn’t super young, like under 22 or 23. A 45 year-old dating a 29 year-old is far different than a 36 year-old dating a 20 year-old. It’s the same age gap, but in the latter example, the younger partner has had barely any life experience as an adult, which makes the situation rife with possibilities of abuse and control.

It’s not even close to the norm, though, and some guys’ obsession with extreme age gaps in manosphere spaces is kind of ridiculous considering that the majority of men will never be in a relationship like that. It’s mostly just fantasy.

"you'll be able to divorce rape him" Why do you automatically assume that her husband is the breadwinner? As of 2022, only 55% of married men are the sole or primary breadwinners of their families. And the figure decreases year-by-year.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 03:51 PM

This needs to be repeated here so often because so many of you guys seem oblivious to the fact that women not only work but earn good money now. No, not at all. My husband and I led very similar lifestyles. We were both partiers and both had had a number of relationships and some hookups prior to us getting together.

The women Pete Davidson dated have far, far more money than he does, especially Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande. And he isn’t very attractive at all, so it’s not his looks that are carrying him, either. It’s very much likely his personality and sense of humor. I know many of you guys here refuse to believe that personality matters a whole hell of a lot, but it absolutely does.

This is a load of BS. The majority of men want sex very soon; not just fuckboys. Ask any woman who dates. You wouldn’t know this, because you presumably don’t date men. I have no issue with sleeping with someone early on, nor do I care about being called a hoe. I’m just pointing out that your assumption that only attractive player types want sex early on is wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 07:22 PM

Again, college-educated women have the longest-lasting marriages. This is a statistical fact. It’s irrelevant who files in those minority of marriages that do end.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 07:19 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 07:17 PM

Interesting, because most men want sex on the first date, or at the very least, the second or third date. So basically, men have this fantasy where women remain pure and innocent their entire lives until they meet them, at which point, those women instantly become hoes—but only for them, of course.

You are oblivious to the realities of domestic violence and how law enforcement often handles situations. Considering that DV is extremely high in families of law enforcement officers (cops statistically have higher rates of DV incidents in their own families than that of the general population), it’s well-known that cops often don’t handle DV cases well at all.

From what I’ve observed, red pillers used to be primarily about “spinning plates,” or having lots of casual sex with different partners. In the last couple years, though, there seems to have been a shift in red-pill thinking and aims. Now, it seems as though red pillers are all about adopting tradcon beliefs and values. Many of these guys talk about wanting a traditional marriage with a submissive wife who stays home and cares for the kids.

Of course evil exists in the world. Your future daughter potentially having consensual sex is not evidence of evil whatsoever. You are feigning concern for her safety, when in reality, you just can’t stand the thought of her having her own life and making her own choices. Furthermore, you can’t keep an adult child locked up and isolated because you fear for their safety. It just doesn’t work that way. You aren’t concerned about a future daughter’s safety. You just don’t want her to live her own life without your claws latched into everything she does. Fortunately, adults don’t have to do what their parents command, which is a very good thing for those raised in toxic homes.

First off, many women choose to continue their careers, even if they could feasibly stay home. Having financial independence is extremely important, considering that anything could go wrong in a marriage. Plus, lots of women find joy and purpose in their careers. And secondly, a good chunk of stay-at-home moms are low-income. I’m in a number of mom groups on FB, and most of the stay-at-home moms discuss how they don’t work because they can’t afford childcare. When I was assaulted while jogging on a bike path, I was wearing mid-thigh-length shorts and my boyfriend’s old baggy T-shirt. I was also sweating profusely from nearing the end of a 5-mile jog on a blazing hot July afternoon. Bad men don’t rape because of clothing. That myth needs to die out already. For further evidence of this, just look at the major rape epidemic in places like India and Egypt. Women there are usually covered head-to-toe, yet rape happens on a regular basis.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 05:45 PM

I’m sorry, what? So, when I was attacked by a man who was a stranger to me while jogging on a bike path years ago, that was MY fault and not the guy’s fault for attacking, assaulting, and attempting to rape??? Men who harm and sexual assault women are always the one’s at fault. Period. I can’t believe this needs to be said.

It’s not so simple as “bye…I’m out of this relationship” when you have children and your entire life is intertwined with your partner. Women often stay in less than ideal relationships/marriages because they desperately want to make it work. I’m sure some men do the same thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 06:22 PM

I’m so grateful that when I was attacked while jogging on a bike path in 2006, a passerby stopped to pull by my attacker off of me and then lend me his phone afterward to call 911. Duty sex occurs in relationships that are transactional in nature. It has nothing to do with a woman's past partners (or lack thereof) and everything to do with her having sex not out of genuine desire but rather to keep her husband happy so that he continues to provide for her.

No, I don’t think so. Because I don’t believe that men are naturally rapists. Some men will rape, but they don’t represent the majority of men. It’s also important to note that rape happens often in places like India and Egypt where women have far less rights than women in the West have. So, I think it comes down to both individual men’s inclination to rape and cultural attitudes toward women in any given society.

Here’s the thing: Most couples don’t have much in the way of assets, and this is particularly true of couples who divorce earlier in life. I’m inclined to agree that the percentage of men who would rape is higher than what criminal statistics indicate, considering that rape is the most underreported crime (and even when reported, the conviction rate is low). The difference is this: If a guy attempts to develop a friendship with a woman from the very beginning solely because he thinks she's attractive and wants to date her, then yeah, that's not great. On the other hand, if he becomes her friend because he really enjoys spending time with her and values the friendship over everything else, then that's a different matter entirely. Again, most women don't work that way. I honestly don't see any men that I want to sleep with simply upon seeing them. It requires more for me, such as talking with a guy and seeing if it's fun to hang out with. Even on dating apps, I might see a guy who I think is attractive, but I don't instantly want to sleep with him. I'll chat with him first and see if I like his personality.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 09:23 PM

Yeah, I got a good laugh at that part. I’m pretty sure if someone is taking it up the ass, they are no longer a virgin. 😂

I’m not so sure about Tate, but everything I’ve read about F&F has them firmly aligned with the red pill. This highlights an issue, in general, where red pillers often disagree with other red pillers about what TRP really endorses and who the main/popular TRP figures are.

Where are you getting the notion that most of those guys had sex only once? The category in question refers to having one partner. Most of those guys probably had sex a number of times, either with their long-term partner or FWB partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 02:56 PM

I mean, I don’t disagree that issues are far more likely to arise in women who are in their late 30s and older and trying to get pregnant. I’m just arguing that women having children in their early-to-mid 30s are still at a very fertile and healthy stage in their lives.

And not only premarital sex, but sex super early into dating. Just in this sub alone, I’ve seen so many men who seem to lean tradcon in their views say that they will give it 3 dates without sex until they call it quits. That’s like a couple weeks into dating, maybe. So they want the traditional virgin future housewife, but they want her to put out very quickly.

Great fucking comment here. I couldn’t agree more. I was raised in a loving, upper-middle-class two-parent home (my parents have been married almost 50 years), and although we were practicing Catholics, I wasn’t raised to think that my virginity was the end-all and be-all. My parents were kind of, I guess, quite progressive in terms of sex and whatnot. So I didn’t grow up in a toxic environment where purity culture BS was drilled into me. And I think that enabled me to not view sex as this major…

I am a middle-aged woman who has had a decent amount of dating experience. As a result of my own life experiences, I probably wouldn't choose to date a similarly-aged man who hasn't been in a relationship. I just feel like we wouldn't have much in common. I would prefer to date a divorcee who has children because I am also divorced (or about to be) and have a child.

I think the argument from manospherians (and particularly tradcon red-pillers) is that we, as a society, should return to the days when men were the sole providers and the women were homemakers. In a traditional dynamic like that, some would view women as gold diggers because they would be actively seeking out men who would make enough money to be good providers. In modern society, women don’t place as much emphasis on finding “provider men” because they earn their own money.

It’s not so much about being all nicey-nice and kissing women’s asses. General kindness is important, yes, but what many women do want is a man who respects them and doesn’t hold regressive, conservative views.

Yeah, I have never once pursued or dated a man because he had money. My ex-husband didn’t even have a job at all when we first started dating. Literally no job. Now at this stage of my life, I would want a guy to at least have a job, but I certainly wouldn’t demand he make six figures.

Sure, there are people who are polyamorous. But the number of individuals participating in that lifestyle is fairly low. There are also cheaters—both male and female (although, admittedly, there are more cheaters than people who are poly). Again, they do not represent the majority. What you’re describing isn’t something that normally happens.

Interesting, yeah, that’s not been what I’ve observed. Hollywood isn’t really a good example to use because both famous men and women both go through partners as often as they change their underwear. Everything that happens in their world isn’t relatable to everyone else. But for ordinary people, most men over a certain age tire of casual sex and settle down. And there’s also the issue where society will judge older men and women who sleep around and refuse to settle down.

I think we need to differentiate between male virgins (or generally unsuccessful men) and actual incels. Most women, myself included, have nothing against men who simply don’t do so well with dating. In fact, I wish only good things to happen for men who aren’t hateful and disrespectful toward women. Incels, however, are men who subscribe to a specific hateful ideology. Those are the guys that people have a problem with.

I'll answer. The race of a man doesn't matter one bit. Men are bigger and stronger than the vast, vast majority of women. That's the concern, not the race of any particular guy. If I am walking down the street at night alone, I am going to be wary of both a short white guy and a tall black guy. That does not mean that we think all men are dangerous predators. (This needs to be repeated so very often, and hopefully you guys in this sub will understand one day.) It's simply a reality for women eve…

Even though most incels don't actually kill women, they do absolutely hate us. They have zero respect for us and see us as nothing more than a set of holes. Some incels take it a step further and endorse the belief that we should have our rights removed. Why on Earth would any sane woman sign up to date a guy who thinks like that?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 10:32 PM

I think there are very few men who literally can't find anyone to date them. Do men like that exist? Sure, but not on a mass scale. After listening to some guys here and in other forums, it seems that many of them do have standards or requirements, contrary to what they claim. If a guy refuses to date fat women, single moms, women over 30, or promiscuous women, then he's obviously going to be competing with millions of other guys for a very small percentage of thin, young women.

There’s nothing wrong with what you’re describing. However, guys who have a glow-up a bit later in life and want to experience hookups (which they feel they missed out on in their youth) shouldn’t get into serious relationships if they just want to have lots of casual sex. It’s not fair to any potential girlfriends who likely didn’t even know those guys when they were younger. Those guys should just be single and sow their wild oats, so to speak.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 03:59 PM

I’m not sure what specifically OP is referring to, but I have read that some guys who lacked experience throughout their twenties and finally get a girlfriend in their thirties or forties feel very strong resentment about missing out on casual sex and relationships. As such, they may be more likely to cheat or treat their girlfriends poorly.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 03:56 PM

That’s rapidly changing. In almost half of American marriages, the husband is not the sole or primary breadwinner. And with each passing year, the percentage of marriages with either an egalitarian dynamic or female breadwinner increases.

Nah, I mostly agree with him. I don’t want to go on a date that feels like some staged courtship drama from two centuries ago. I’d much prefer to have a guy making raunchy jokes and having a good time than doing all of these cringey performative acts.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 03:40 PM

Honestly, despite the narrative suggested here and in other pilled spaces, most men who have their act together would expect their female partner to have hers together.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 12:25 PM

If I was in my twenties and stilling living with my parents, I certainly wouldn't judge a guy with similar circumstances. But if I was financially set enough to be living with roommates or by myself, I would expect a potential partner to have similar living arrangements. That's not unreasonable.

This isn't about men caring about the lives of random women who are strangers. (Or, conversely, women caring about random men.) It's about certain men in this sub and within the larger manosphere seeming to only be interested in sex when it comes to a potential romantic partner.

You have to realize that the kind of men who "swallow the red pill" aren't representative of most ordinary men who don't buy into manosphere narratives. In a space like this one, you'll find a lot of guys suggesting that women's goals, interests, and accomplishments don't matter. Out in the real world, however, most guys absolutely do care a great deal about those things.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/24 07:57 PM

I disagree. I don’t know any men who I think would choose a virgin over a non-virgin. But then again, the men I know are all experienced themselves.

The guys I’ve dated have led similar lifestyles as myself, and so it was never an issue. Guys who party and have had a decent number of past partners typically aren’t concerned with body counts. Just wanted to say that I agree with both of them! Honestly, the only times I’ve really felt uneasy was when I was alone in a secluded area or at night and I come across a man who is a stranger. So, for example, if Im walking to my car at night, I’m going to be extra vigilant about my surroundings.

He’s awaiting trial. And even if not convicted, he has publicly made claims in his own videos that are seriously misogynistic and repulsive to anyone with a shred of decency. So, no, he’s not ab alpha.

Of course! Most couples are of a similar level of attractiveness. Why would you expect to see a bunch of unattractive men with beautiful women?

When guys like you rant on about single moms, why is it that you seem to forget that single dads exist? Most of the single moms I have known were divorcees who went on to date and marry divorced single dads. In fact, after a certain age (35 or so), most of the people--men and women both--in the dating pool are those who have divorced and already have children. Single dads are often perfectly happy with dating and even marrying single moms.

Agreed. I just want to point out that in terms of custody issues, many US states have already made huge improvements in this area. My understanding is that the default in many states now is 50/50 custody, barring any documented history of abuse/domestic violence or recent active addiction/substance abuse problems. I'm actually going through a divorce now, and my state is default 50/50 custody.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 01:47 PM

Why not? Is there some rule that states that blue-pilled women don’t date athletes? I’ve never heard of such a thing. I’m not even really pilled at all. I’m just a normie who thinks that most of what the red pill preaches is either absurd or straight garbage. I’ll elaborate on the guys I’ve dated. Those athletes all had liberal-leaning political beliefs. And each of those relationships were egalitarian.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:31 PM

I think your second point illustrates what's happening a lot with younger men and women. With FWBs/situationships becoming more common, it's likely that for some of those couples, the woman assumes that her and the guy are in a serious relationship while the guy doesn't label their relationship in the same way. In those cases, the guys would claim to be single.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 06:39 PM

Most of the guys I've dated have been former athletes (high school and collegiate-level). I've dated football players, soccer players, and wrestlers. Despite their dominant physical appearance and capabilities, they were some of the kindest and most interesting men I've known. A couple were quite intelligent as well.

You could make the same argument about the men who married those women, but you won't because it doesn't conform to your preconceived narrative. Many men--especially college-educated, successful ones--actively pursue women on their same education, income, and general socioeconomic level.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 02:03 PM

This isn’t really true all the time. I’m an addict and alcoholic in recovery and have shared my story on social media. The vast majority of comments Ive received from both men and women have been supportive.

Many women who resort to IVF treatments to attempt to get pregnant have medical issues unrelated to their age. For example, it’s estimated that 10% of women worldwide have endometriosis, a condition which often causes issues with infertility. I am one of those of women. By some sheer good fortune, I did pregnant and give birth to my son in 2010, but that was the one and only time I was able to conceive. I was only 30 years old when i had him, and I had been having lots of unprotected sex with my…

/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 03:33 PM

Yeah, I doubt that the scenario OP describes is something that commonly happens. He’s talking about something like 1-2% of men at the very most. The vast majority of men who were sexually unsuccessful in their 20s and 30s are not going to magically have a glow-up (looks-wise and money-wise) so significant that they can begin casually dating and fucking 20-something year-old Instagram models.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 02:31 PM
13

And to add, there are many older men who don’t want to date younger women. Lots of older men would prefer dating an attractive older woman because they likely have more things in common and may share similar life experiences.

Where are you getting this notion that only a “small and tiny percentage” of men are having sex? Because the data shows the opposite—that the majority of men are having sex. In 2022, only 14% of young men ages 18-29 didn’t have sex. And that was just for 2022 alone. https://datepsychology.com/how-many-sexual-partners-did-men-and-women-have-in-2022/#:~:text=Number%20of%20sexual%20partners%20in,an%20excess%20of%20sexual%20partners

Sometimes that’s not even enough. Let me give you an example of someone I know in real life: My ex-husband’s friend (we’ll call him Tom) was very abusive and controlling to his wife. She finally had enough of living in fear and misery and left him and filed for divorce. Tom was irate about her leaving and would not accept that the marriage was over. He started stalling and harassing his ex-wife for months, and eventually began making death threats. She got a protection order and he proceeded to …

I don’t think you’re understanding. Violent, abusive men often won’t let things go just because their wife divorced them. That period of time shortly after she leaves is so dangerous precisely because he’s furious about her leaving. An angry, violent man who’s been left will sometimes threaten, stalk, or even harm or kill their ex-wives. In situations like that, even if the woman gets a protection order it’s sometimes not enough to stop the man.

I just looked him up. He’s probably good-looking without all the idiotic face tatts, but as a normal, sane woman, he loses all appeal due to his terrible character and actions. You have to remember that there is a small percentage of people—both men and women—who are likely mentally unwell themselves who lust after the absolute worst people. Some men went crazy over Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias.

Yeah, I agree that there are probably a lot of people here with childhood trauma. I think the other issue is that many of the guys in this sub seem to be very isolated and have minimal interactions with women offline. So, they read or watch all of this rage-bait content that’s fed to them through the algorithm and then make wild generalizations about women that sound ridiculous to others.

Yes, most women don’t want to “submit” to a man, myself included. I’m not a child and I don’t want my romantic relationship to mirror that of a parent-child relationship. I’m really not sure why that’s shocking to guys like you. Most of us women want an egalitarian relationship where both partners treat each other equally with respect. It’s actually just common sense.

I’m not a fan of cold approaches, especially if they happen in places that aren’t specifically intended for socializing. So I’m going to go with a 2. I will never accept a date that way, regardless of how attractive the guy is. With that said, as long as the guy isn’t pushy and aggressive, I will politely decline and it’s no big deal.

Women are most likely to experience a stranger attack when they are alone, though. I was attacked while jogging on a bike path years ago. I guess I could have brought my boyfriend along on my jog, but I shouldn’t have to have a man with me at all times to ensure my safety. I will add that another male jogger came along shortly after my attacker threw me to the ground and was attempting to rape me. He thankfully pulled my attacker off of me. I don't know what kind of family you grew up in, but I was not raised that way and that was 30 years ago. My mom and dad both encouraged me to go to college, begin my career, and set myself up to be independent. Of course, they never told me not to marry, but the guidance given was to be self-sufficient. That was the common advice given to most of the girls I knew, with the exception of girls from extremely religious backgrounds.

Huh? I didn't depend on my husband after having our son. Like most other women, I went on maternity leave for a short while (2 months...I was paid 100% of my salary) and then returned to work. Many women are paid during maternity leave or take short-term disability and receive payments that way. Even if those women aren't paid, it's only a couple months at most that they are off work.
