| 1 | Woman cheats on husband, uses that as proof that her marriage is irrevocably broken, and tries to steal half of his stuff in divorce. Court rules against her and media creates a circus. It's harsh to expect both spouses to have an egalitarian, equally contributing part of the relationship? When you deliver a child, same as your wife, then you will have one of the truly egalitarian marriages on the planet. Until then, let's not pretend that there is no difference between men & women. If I told you my parents had raised my sister to be a homemaker, you would condemn that as evil. If your parents had raised your sister to only ever be a homemaker, then yes I would consider that ev… | /r/MensRights | 27/03/17 02:10 AM |
| 1 | Woman cheats on husband, uses that as proof that her marriage is irrevocably broken, and tries to steal half of his stuff in divorce. Court rules against her and media creates a circus.if I ever do get married, I will expect my wife to work as well. I can clean my own house; I don't need someone else to do it. It's not a big deal It sounds to me like you are not yet old enough to marry, & therefore hold an unrealistic idea of what life is like for others, particularly of an older generation who did not grow up with your norms. Further, you seem to expect all people to conform to your idea of what life should be and how relations with spouses should be conducted. But there is n… | /r/MensRights | 27/03/17 01:25 AM |
| 2 | Woman cheats on husband, uses that as proof that her marriage is irrevocably broken, and tries to steal half of his stuff in divorce. Court rules against her and media creates a circus....you are pretending that she is an altruistic fairy princess... I made no such claim. But you said "She contributed nothing to the business and was a homemaker." as though being a homemaker is something of no worth. And it is, in fact, what allowed this fellow to apply himself to his business & make whatever success of it he could. What should that be worth? I don't pretend to know, but it is not valueless. | /r/MensRights | 27/03/17 12:30 AM |
| 3 | Woman cheats on husband, uses that as proof that her marriage is irrevocably broken, and tries to steal half of his stuff in divorce. Court rules against her and media creates a circus.Yeah - that's it - just keep deprecating what she contributed as though it is completely worthless. That will get you far in life. Like Donald Trump. Empty. Hollow. Contemptible. | /r/MensRights | 27/03/17 12:21 AM |
| 4 | Woman cheats on husband, uses that as proof that her marriage is irrevocably broken, and tries to steal half of his stuff in divorce. Court rules against her and media creates a circus. She contributed nothing to the business and was a homemaker. That isn't what I heard. I heard that she never got out of bed & he had to hire a housekeeper, a nanny, AND a sex worker to meet all of his (very businesslike) needs. Do you know how much that costs over forty years? /snark | /r/MensRights | 26/03/17 08:14 PM |
| 1 | The “Affirmative Consent” Trap: California lawmakers take on “rape culture” at the expense of rightsThanks for your reply. The wiki page has these things to say: 1)" A false (emphasis mine) accusation of rape is the intentional reporting of a rape by an alleged victim when no rape has occurred." 2) "Studies have found that police classify between 1.5 and 8% of rape accusations as unfounded, unproven or false, however researchers say those determinations are often dubious." 3) "There are many reasons other than falsity that can result in a rape case being closed as unfounded or unproven." There… | /r/MensRights | 23/07/14 03:01 PM |
| 1 | The “Affirmative Consent” Trap: California lawmakers take on “rape culture” at the expense of rightsThe whole story is that 98 out of 100 reports of rape are not false; 2 of them are. That is, for every two vindictive bitches out to ruin your life, 98 innocent women were fucking raped - How about little perspective? Second, does that really make a difference to the accused whether he has been falsely accused of rape or murder? Actually, yes it does. While both are potentially life shattering, the guy who is falsely accused of murder faces the possibility that the State will in turn murder him.… | /r/MensRights | 22/07/14 11:42 PM |
| 1 | The “Affirmative Consent” Trap: California lawmakers take on “rape culture” at the expense of rightsWhy the quotation marks around "two percent"? Don't believe the number? To address your point, though, yes bad convictions do take place (as they do for other crimes) and innocent people spend time in prison suffering GOD knows what. Take a look at the Gary Dotson case, that I referred to above. Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Dotson The poor guy was falsely accused, convicted & spent 10 years in prison, the prosecutors claiming in the press that they had the right guy all along, until h… | /r/MensRights | 22/07/14 10:06 PM |
| -2 | The “Affirmative Consent” Trap: California lawmakers take on “rape culture” at the expense of rightsMe claiming to have seen the actual incident is a typo. I wasn't in the room when this happened. All right, there's some progress. Not a typo, more of a mis-statement of fact - an exaggeration, if you will, but progress. You'll note that I acknowledged that false accusations do happen & cited one case that I know of where a guy suffered 10 years, maybe more, of imprisonment based on a false accusation. His name was Gary Dotson, look it up - I think I got the facts more or less right. That is bad… | /r/MensRights | 21/07/14 11:19 PM |
| 1 | The “Affirmative Consent” Trap: California lawmakers take on “rape culture” at the expense of rightsWhile all of those things could happen, how often do they happen? As I noted above, according to Wikipedia, the Justice Dept thinks it's 2% of reported cases, same as for other violent crimes. Two of one hundred reported cases. Not zero, but not likely, and not anything I'd lose a lot of sleep over. It seems to me that you're more likely to wind up on a no-fly list than be falsely accused of rape - anyone care to run the numbers? | /r/MensRights | 21/07/14 10:21 PM |
| -1 | The “Affirmative Consent” Trap: California lawmakers take on “rape culture” at the expense of rightsSorry pal, but your story is too inconsistent for me to believe. First it was " I've seen a girl ...", then it was "I wasn't there personally ... I knew one of the guys tangentially involved as I was friends with a friend of his ... " and now it's " I knew many of the people involved ...". So no, you haven't been "pretty clear about the experience", despite what you may think you've done. Next, I'm not saying that " ANY time a person asks questions they're a victim blamer." I'm saying you are a … | /r/MensRights | 21/07/14 09:52 PM |
| -1 | The “Affirmative Consent” Trap: California lawmakers take on “rape culture” at the expense of rightsWell, I guess I'd say - like some of those above have said regarding the actual incidence of rape - what are the real numbers for false reporting of rape. I know it does occur, but what is the likelihood of it happening? Wikipedia says: "The United States Justice Department agrees, saying false accusations 'are estimated to occur at the low rate of two percent -- similar to the rate of false accusations for other violent crimes.' " Now, if you are a man & there's this woman you want to have sex … | /r/MensRights | 21/07/14 08:32 PM |
| -4 | The “Affirmative Consent” Trap: California lawmakers take on “rape culture” at the expense of rightsOk, to reply: Just to be clear, I'm not a girl. I got a dick, it gets hard for girls that I think are pretty. Next, to answer your first question- what I'm referring to is the oft-reported fact that women don't report rapes or sexual assaults because they often have to face men who use language like "supposed rape". After that, no - personal experiences don't necessarily mean anything. And, as you reveal more of the details of your 'experience' it seems pretty weak. In your first reply to my pos… | /r/MensRights | 21/07/14 08:08 PM |
| -9 | The “Affirmative Consent” Trap: California lawmakers take on “rape culture” at the expense of rightsMy "personal supposed experiences"? I bet you say that to all the girls. Seriously, that earns you a big "Fuck you, buddy" from me. Yeah, my experiences - I see you've offered up one of yours. But yours is 'real', while mine is 'supposed', eh? Beyond that, yeah - neither sex knows how to act in college. But don't be thinking that a a girl drunkenly sleeping somewhere other than her own bedroom is an invite for someone to get their dick wet. 'Cuz if you did, well that would make you a potential r… | /r/MensRights | 21/07/14 04:40 PM |
| -14 | The “Affirmative Consent” Trap: California lawmakers take on “rape culture” at the expense of rightsI'm going to voice what is probably an unpopular opinion here - but the one-in-four/one-in-five number for college-age women is probably right. Because college-age men don't know how to act (literally - a lot of guys are still trying to figure it out). And college-age women are on the receiving end of every kind of male sexual aggression from knife-point abduction ("real" rape) to "No means no except when it doesn't" to "I'm almost ready to cum, she can't change her mind now." Are some of these … | /r/MensRights | 21/07/14 03:43 PM |
| 0 | Tim McGraw slaps a woman after she hits his groin area. Why is everyone asking if it's justified? She sexually and physically assaulted him. He has a right to defend himself doesn't he?Okay, ladies - here's the rules: You may look at Tim, you may sigh, or swoon, or scream but do not touch Tim, or look Tim directly in the eye. Do not not approach Tim, if he likes you he will approach you. Also, no brown M&Ms. | /r/MensRights | 18/07/14 03:40 PM |
| 44 | ... And I pay for condoms, will feminism buy me those?Resent women much? This post is not about "Men's Rights", but about resenting women advocating for their own needs. As many posters have shown, in countries with 'decent' healthcare, condoms are just as 'free' as birth control pills. You don't want to pay for condoms? Advocate for universal health care. | /r/MensRights | 01/01/13 05:16 PM |
