Of the many books for the sexual stage: any recommendations? Once I worked out Attraction, Comfort came easily but I really have no idea wtf I'm doing for the Sexual stage.

Why rule that out though? I'd guess some 90+% of incels over 20 have some kind of severe social functioning issue. Crippling anxiety/depression, aspergers, avoidant personality disorder... They still need to make changes, but I'd suggest therapy, getting off the internet, and getting fit before practically any dating specific advice.

Remember that even though any guide will spell out all the details, most people reading will only be getting a handful of them really wrong. So Alex is a little skinny fat but thinks he's fine since he's not American fat, Bob thinks paying attention to what clothing he wears is "gay", Chris thinks letting the woman make most of decisions is gentlemanly or something, Dan is overly logical and has a hard time loosening up, etc. So a guide that helps them all has to cover all the bases, even though…

Work out and clean up the rest of your look a bit, do whatever social skills improvement you need, then find a chubby 4 you think is cute and fuck her good. That's being realistic. Straight giving up is just defeatism.

Sorta incel related: is there any consensus on the best 'tactical' dating advice site/book? Not like some secret of seduction flowchart, just the basics for late bloomers who have no idea wtf they are doing.

I hate conflation of obese and overweight. Their "healthy obese" category is almost all men who are overweight but not obese (BMI 25-30). It's totally reasonable for a man to have a BMI of 26 or 27 and not be that fat if they have some muscle, it's basically impossible for someone who's actually obese.

Useful concept from Catholicism: Scrupulosity. To quote wikipedia, "Scrupulosity is characterized by pathological guilt about moral or religious issues. It is personally distressing, objectively dysfunctional, and often accompanied by significant impairment in social functioning." You feeling bad about uncertain third-order effects of your actions isn't actually helping anyone. It's just making you miserable. If you're honest about who you are and nice to the person you're dating don't worry abo…

0/51/1, and in practice my Machiavellian tendencies are closer to defensive paranoia than active manipulation. Yeah anyone who's high on anything but Machiavellian would be pretty freaking unpleasant.

5+ generation American white incels here. I'm a recovering shut-in though and my experiences with the dating market don't seem to resemble what the Asian immigrants report.

Age matters here a lot. The typical clueless nice guy is a teen with no experience, so the woman generally doesn't know what's going on. After they do it once or twice and realize it's not working they stop. All the crazy toxic stories I've read involved people in their twenties. That's where you get the leading on teasing or the crazy blowups.

Subtle beard shaping is legit for jawline issues. The fat guy draw-a-jaw chinstrap is awful, but a clean top line and cutting the chin longer than the sides can make a real difference without looking like you're trying too hard.

Let's say simple correct dating advice for men has seven parts: "Be fit, be confident, and lead to be attractive. Be more social, and take more chances to have more women to choose from. Be yourself and don't tolerate bad behavior to choose the right one" There are other things but those are the big seven in my opinion. Be Yourself is actually very good advice. But since it's incomplete, "Just" be yourself is terrible advice unless you've got the other parts reasonably under control.

In my experience, they message first with something very light then immediately shift into a more passive approach. So even though it's technically a first message it's still closer to an IOI than actually approaching? Unless we're counting "hi", "hey", "hi nerd", or (quoting a joke from your profile) "lol" as approaches. Apparently I'm out of their league though? That would be nice.

They are fixing the wrong problem and not their real weakness. Which shouldn't be too surprising: there's some reason they have their real problem in the first place! So if they haven't identified and fixed the meta-problem they'll just reproduce their weakness in their self improvement. Take marathon running and lifting: nothing wrong with them inherently! But they are generally solitary hobbies that rely heavily on routine and discipline. Why did trail22 gravitate towards them? Because they he…

"How many men have sexual fantasies involving their degradation/submission, if we ignore all the weirdos who are sexually submissive?" I don't even necessarily disagree with your main point but that's a self-refuting statement.

Dude. Have you ever used online dating? I'm probably two full points below you in attractiveness and I get hits from non-fat women. When they say online dating doesn't work for men they mean uggos, not you. I 100 percent understand having neuroses about dating but the only way you're going to get over them is by actually trying. Some stranger who is single, looking, and at least somewhat interested in you is the best possible person to practice with anyway: even if you screw everything up you ca…

No, fogging is de-escalating by accepting the literal argument but not emotionally engaging: the metaphor is like punching fog, not fogging to obscure.

"Cognitive elite" isn't about a financial or social elite, it just means high IQ. Pushing people who aren't that smart/motivated to get a generic degree so they'll be middle class is the dumbest cargo cult shit in the US right now.

The central point is fine, but he jams in a bunch of random crap (hence the 'manifesto'). I get that he thinks it's supporting detail, but a concise argument would be way better than this mind dump. Not a TRP poster, but he's probably read some manosphere stuff. Obviously a man. He'll be fired, and he probably should be. How can you think that posting this with your real name in your professional capacity on a company site is a good idea? Why on earth would you choose to martyr yourself on this …

The problem with incel posts is that the biggest thing separating incels from other struggling individuals is their own neuroses. You can make threads about short guys or socially inhibited guys or issues with race in dating or socially oblivious guys or whatever and it will be fine. Your complexes about those issues are fundamentally your own problem.

35 out of 36. I'm not exactly great at this in real life, so I'm doubting the usefulness of this test.

There's a difference between "un"-attractive and less attractive. Almost nobody is fucking people they find completely unattractive, but the vast majority of women are at least a little attractive to most men. My line for little attraction to no attraction is somewhere between 2000 Hillary Clinton and 2008 Hillary Clinton for reference. That leaves room for plenty of women who are objectively unattractive compared to other women, but have non-zero attraction for me.

Once a week-ish sounds right if he's actually trying. I can pull that off just through online dating and I'm maybe average at best (probably like 6 looks and 2 personality). Note that I'm assuming a "single average guy" not an "average single guy": those are two very different populations.

Zuckerberg's wife was a fellow Harvard grad who went to med school and now works as a Pediatrician. So not Facebook CEO level but still a terrible example.

Creepy is like rude, you should try to avoid it but worrying so much about it that you don't try is worse. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess you have general issues with social anxiety: you probably have similar catastrophizing thought patterns when you think about starting conversations with anyone you don't know. Some therapy might help (do CBT with worksheets, not just chit-chat) to help you replace those unhelpful thought patterns. For practical advice, taking a No as a No is by…

I'd support her during treatment, this is the definition of "in sickness or in health". After treatment, I'd do what I can to help her recover her appearance: implants/wig/brownies. I'd support her while she attempts to look for another job. I'd expect to "insource" some labor that we had been outsourcing though, and for her to be frugal in her own spending habits. This would be totally fine with me if we're living a 30k level lifestyle. Honestly I make very good money and am quite frugal, so as…

I'd take the 6 like everyone else. It's not that I don't care about looks, it's that a 6 is hot enough. If you shifted the question down the scale (7 bitch versus 3 nice), you'd get a lot more people picking the hot bitch.

Does compromising on looks work if your problem isn't your appearance? I've been putting effort into my appearance and I'm getting dates from online dating services now with decent looking (5-7 rated) women, but I'm having no luck getting second dates. Would a woman with 3-4 looks actually be more willing to overlook spergy beta no game behavior, or should the incel keep practicing with people in his looks league?

People overrate signals and underrate fundamentals. If the man is relatively confident and competent, but for some reason he didn't initiate, the woman pursuing won't affect attraction. If the man couldn't initiate because he's too "beta", then that will end up showing through in the future which will lower attraction.

If they "prove" they have no chance at romantic success then they can settle the issue, put it away and move on with their lives. Finding a partner can go on the shelf of impossible dreams like being a professional baseball player or an astronaut. Any admission of hope moves it off that shelf and makes it emotionally "live" again. Admitting that I could have success with a better approach really sucked, I can see why someone would want to avoid it.

I'm a little short of 135,000, but I doubt a couple extra thousand would take me from 29 year old virgin to successful. I've got a couple of coworkers who are doing better than I am but not great either. Problems: -Nerdy, shy, awkward, somewhat spergy programmers aren't exactly a hot commodity. -We live in a wealthy area (Montgomery County, MD). It's just not THAT much money here. -It takes a lot of time and effort to have a successful career: this isn't a 9-5 job, and I do extra work outside my…

Not that it fully prevents improvement, but I'd guess a huge percentage of incels have at least one of Clinical Depression/Social Anxiety Disorder/Aspergers.

There's a difference between normal high intelligence and the kind of super high IQ people who are over represented in places like MIT. http://www.davidsongifted.org/Search-Database/entry/A10163 This study compares 160+ IQ kids to 120-140 (so already well above average). High IQ kids were three times likelier to have zero close friends (20%-6.8%), four times likelier to do things with friends less than once a week (36.7%-8.9%), and much less likely to have a regular group of friends (76%-95%). I…
