Agreed, but at the same time, it's true that a significant proportion of men do (in economic/psychological studies) have negative feelings about "strong" women, and rate behavior as aggressive/bitchy that they wouldn't if the genders were reversed (which is what they've done with some studies - separate surveys). It's not just 1%, but nor is it 100%.

What state? It's still a thing where I live, unfortunately. A cousin of mine has a three-chambered heart with some other defects, and had tubal ligation because of the literal 100% chance that any pregnancy would kill her (natural birth or c-section) and because she didn't want to risk having to terminate a pregnancy. I know it's anecdotal, but her husband had to sign off, and her story was the same as that post the other day. But again, it's anecdotal and I'm wondering what state you're in.

That's pretty clearly the joke. Hence this sub making r/all. Its normal content.. not too likely.

Richard Herring had a good response to this, this year.

It's clickbait/ragebait. It's a shitty tabloid that no one takes seriously outside of occasional 'local color' stories that might have at least some similarity to reality.

Im just dumbfounded with this utter shit. It's the Daily Mail. That's the reaction they were going for.

If the only examples you're willing to look at are in old "history books" (read: Facebook memes cherry-picked to confirm your beliefs), then it might not be the dumbest conclusion. The best argument for social democracy is today's newspaper, not Cold War propaganda. But yeah, it's a common sentiment. Health care = communism = mass-murder. Ditto education, paid maternity/paternity leave, etc. We're going to see a LOT more of this in the next year.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
