And then they made no effort for decades to reach out to find and help their kid escape their abuser? Same.

Matchmaking service, I looked into once when I had a better job. It’s not cheap, like was looking at $2k minimum from what I remember (with a certain amount refundable if you decide you wanted to quit at a certain point). Basically they do a lot of legwork screening and the best ones won’t take you as a client if they don’t like you. It’s sorta like how they match doctors to residencies except it’s first dates.

I see you have met my mother. She thinks nothing is staged online. It’s actually quite disheartening how naive.

I have the same exact experience and review of therapy. I had to try a few therapists before I found one that clicked. We’ve ebbed and flowed for the past 5 years - I will also clarify I have great insurance where I don’t have a copay for mental health treatment so I see them 1x every other week more so because it’s free to me than I need that much therapy. But it’s also really great at processing world events, after the breakout of war in Ukraine and the shooting in Uvalde, it was just nice to …

not only that - but if he doesn't have any hobbies, you know what they spend all their time talking about? work. and that shit can get old if they don't have a job with high dramatics (think like accounting auditor vs a middle school teacher - who do you think has more interesting stories you'd love to hear about for the next 2 hours)

Anecdotally I agree - the men I knew who had a lot of casual relationships were the least likely to hold casual sex against women.

look at Kelly Anne Conway - I swear I had to do a doubletake when I found out my mom was 10 years older but my mom looks 20 years younger than her.
