At a public school, a student has a property right in their education. That right cannot be deprived without due process of law. That is what these lawsuits are about--whether public universities are depriving male student of their right to an education without due process. I agree completely. Short term alimony is reasonable, as it is presumed that the other party gave up a career of their own to help at home, which strengthened working spouse's career. I might catch some flak for this, but I don't have a problem with the message itself. The problem arises when, for example, the women's dorm doesn't have a sign up saying something similar about emotional manipulation of men, because to have that sign would be sexist. Gender violence is either a non-issue or a human issue depending on how you want to frame it, though.

Hasn't that always been the case though? As far as I understood it, proper university education was supposed to teach one how to think and establish fundamental tools (like calculus, physics, chemistry, etc) one may need as a base in their career.
