I'll throw in my two cents. BJJ is my first love and changed my life for the better, but boxing classes are very, very high yield for the beginner. A couple weeks of training alone will give you at least one or two punches that you can depend on to reliably cause pain. Most don't have the confidence of knowing with certainty that they have such a tool at their disposal 24/7.
