Thorogood. Fit straight out of the box. I did upgrade the insoles myself to heavy duty ones because I weigh more than most people so the specialized insoles help with me being on my feet most days. When they start to wear out you can send them back and for around $90 they'll resole them and fix the leather with in reason. They're also made in the US by union workers, which I like.

Because everyone fucks up at some point. I had a coworker who was very thorough in checking IDs. However after running 500 to a couple thousand transactions in a shift everything starts to run together. He could have sworn that he asked for her ID and it said she was over 21, but she wasn't and he was fired. Can't do that, though. I worked in a chain liquor store, and the California ABC would send underage volunteers through stores trying to buy beer to see if they ID. If he said something like that, they'd likely send volunteers through more often trying to catch someone.
