Men have it harder. They have to look good, smell good, be charismatic, have money for dates, be masculine, chivalrous, and so on. AND this doesn't include the multiple times they get rejected throughout this process.

Yes. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

No

I disagree to an extent If you don't have the looks or money your personality is irrelevant to her, and a female associate agreed with me. That does not speak for all women though.

Alright, for kicks and giggles, I'll answer: 1- doesn't matter 2- doesn't matter 3- preferably close to me in height 4- sizable shapely butt I can smack and squeeze. 5- I don't care as long as she makes her own money 6-see answer 5 7- doesn't matter as long as those people aren't going to cause any problems 8- second verse same as the first 9-atheist, or close to it 10- doesn't matter much 11-2 to 5 years in either direction 12-no political affiliation

It's because women don't need to be a female Chad, to get any where

Surprisingly, women REALLY do have it easier on almost all fronts.

I'd keep the one where men can slap their girlfriend/wife's 🍑 but not the other way around. I'd get rid of women being shamed for high body counts but celebrating men's high body counts.

10/6 the friend zone is worse
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 07:07 PM
1

No you wouldn't,😬 The friend zone CAN be a place where you listen to her talk about other guys and how the railed her every way to Sunday, and you have to stay friends with her. Of you don't be her friend, the "reeee misogyny" sound effect plays as you're punished for not wanting to deal with this.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 07:07 PM
1

A men on that one.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 07:04 PM
0

....and that they're sexually unattractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 07:03 PM
1

I'd say the friend zone isn't harmless. SOME women do string men along for time and resources, breadcrumbing him in to thinking they'll hook up. He's reminded that he's not valuable, not worthy, not to be touched. The sex zone, meanwhile, is a place where dry spells end, where sexual release (regardless of gender) is more possible, and where both parties leave with something valuable: an ego boost and a pretty chill mood.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 07:02 PM
1

I'd say it's the other way around. Women want to be first place in victimhood because they think they're owed friendship just for being human. And if a man refuses friendship "He's a misogynist. How dare he not be friends with me. I'm owed friendship but he's not owed sex". Nobody owes anyone anything, and men shouldn't take it seriously when they say the sex zone is worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 06:57 PM
1

Said scarcity is why the friend zone is worse
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 06:52 PM
2

Exactly. I don't know why women act like they can't get friendship from LGBTQ men as their main source of male friendship. Also straight men usually don't look at a beautiful woman and go "we should only be friends".
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 06:51 PM
2

Absolutely correct. That's why the friend zone is always worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 06:47 PM
1

Nope. The friend zone is more damaging
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 06:46 PM
0

They're not equal though. Women cam get friendship from gay and trans men, so her platonic relationship needs are met. Straight men can't fulfill sexual needs with gay or trans men.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 06:45 PM
1

Absolutely
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 06:42 PM
1

I agree that both have similar, but here's what I've noticed: A woman can get sex easily, so she doesn't mind making male friends. Men can't get sex easily, so making female friends is putting salt on a would.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 06:41 PM
2

It's not a hard answer. The friend zone is worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 06:38 PM
1

Nah. The Friend zone will always be worse. Making friends is easy. Getting laid takes more effort than just being yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 06:37 PM
1

I'd say the friend zone is worse. Platonic relationships are just another reminder that you're not worthy of sex, and a sexless man is red flag material to some women.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/23 05:14 PM
1

I 111% agree with you. Women fail to realize they aren't owed friendship, but love to say "ra ra we don't owe men sex". Women getting upset is entitlement because she thinks she is owed friendship. If a man isn't platonically interested, that doesn't make him a misogynist. Women need to learn how to move on. I agree women don't owe men sex, and men don't owe women friendship.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/23 10:43 PM
1

Yes
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/22 03:50 PM
2

Absolutely. Men have little to no options unless they damn near change who they are... In extreme cases. I'd love to trade places with women because y'all got OPTIONS options.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/22 09:56 PM
2

I don't think men have any advantage to be honest.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/22 09:50 PM

Thanks
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/22 12:06 AM
1

Yes. Absolutely! Specifically your wife should be your female best friend.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/22 01:23 AM
1

Not that cut and dry.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/22 01:22 AM
2

I didn't mean any harm. I apologize.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/22 01:21 AM
1

Very true.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/22 01:20 AM
1

True . Thankfully, THAT is not women's fault though. It's ok if y'all don't want sex with him, and he needs to move on.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/22 06:14 PM
1

Men aren't owed sex that's why we can't complain about the friend zone. Yet you think women can complain about not having male friends despite them not being owed friendship?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/22 05:06 PM
1

See that's not the issue. The issue is women getting mad at men for refusing friendship with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/22 12:17 AM
1

It's a dead end if he has strong feelings he can't or shouldn't suppress. I agree sexless friendships are not dead ends, but continued blue balling himself for the sake of the friendship is dumb.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 11:28 PM
1

That makes sense. If men need friends they can't sleep with, they can hang with guys or family members. Female friendship is not pointless though.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 11:20 PM
1

That's part of having GENUINE friendship with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 11:05 PM
1

Being sad is A-OK. It's when women demonize men for leaving that's not ok.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 10:35 PM
1

I could not have said any of that better myself. Excellent. Exactly what my point is.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 10:34 PM
1

Did you not see the "honest intentions" part of my response. Honest? As in he genuinely had platonic intentions from the beginning? No?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 10:31 PM
1

Then this might be a reddit/ social media thing because I see posts about women resenting men who end friendship with them after being rejected.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 03:29 PM
1

Thank you, I had to do it because no one else LITERALLY has or would call out the double standard/ hypocrisy.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 02:28 PM
1

Exactly.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 02:27 PM
2

You're either lucky or an exception to the rule. I will admit the complaints is more common on Reddit, but I've also seen Facebook posts about this as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 02:26 PM
2

The unreciprocated crush guys should leave if it's a huge deal.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 02:23 PM
2

He shouldn't. She's not owed friendship.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 02:22 PM
1

That is hard to argue against.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 02:22 PM
2

It doesn't, but my experience is a frame of reference.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 12:43 PM
1

There's a guy out there somewhere who has an unattractive female friend.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/22 12:42 PM
0

Nope. Toxic masculinity exists because of patriarchy, which is, you guessed it, a male creation.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 11:51 PM
1

It is
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 11:48 PM
1

That is correct, but I personally don't need a woman to have model good looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 11:47 PM
1

I'm mainly interested in casual sex right now in my life.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 11:45 PM
1

Men are guilty of doing this to women, too, and I know it doesn't make it ok.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 11:43 PM
4

For the sake answering the question: Marry a really hot person, ONLY because I don't have a best (by choice) that I have nothing in common with.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 11:41 PM
1

The current state of mind being that I'm not seeking new female friends, but I'm like that with men too. I prefer to approach, get rejected, and move on rather than settle for friendship of o don't have to. I think I'll change my mind at some point, but I don't know when.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 11:22 PM
2

When you complain about men not being friends with you after you reject him. You don't owe him sex, and that's 120% A-OK. But to vilify a man who had honest intentions from the jump for cutting ties, that's the entitlement.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 11:20 PM
2

Some women will shamelessly do that.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 10:43 PM
1

See? Women can be just as entitled as men.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 10:41 PM
1

Vilifying the man for walking away? Yes, as women can learn to move on instead of hating the man, just as the man moved on by cutting ties.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 10:39 PM
1

Correct. Lying your way into the drawers IS bad .
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 10:36 PM
1

Another person gets it. That is absolutely the meaning in my post.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 09:00 PM
2

"owe" comes from being upset you'd lose a friendship because it wasn't mutually beneficial. It's ok if you don't like the that men don't want to stay in friendships because they're not obligated to. And no. What you want my words to mean aren't what they actually mean
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 06:52 PM
2

I see you point.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 05:46 PM
2

Smart choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 05:45 PM
2

I do. And I don't blamed women for anything. I can still see and interact with them as people, but I don't owe them friendship.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 05:42 PM
1

Then I apologize if I've hurt your feelings. I was trying to be logical and helpful.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 05:40 PM
2

Thanks, lol trust me. We know.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 04:34 PM
1

I meant shallow in the sense of we know each other's name and face, bit our conversations stay on a superficial level. I'm not really interested in making more female or male friends as I like my privacy and quiet time.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 04:34 PM
2

The good news is you can always make a new friend.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 04:24 PM
1

This is so true. I have shallow relationships with both men and women, but that doesn't mean I'll dehumanize them. I can and have interacted with women platonically on a casual coworker like level, and they seem to enjoy my conversations. Will I be friends with them? Yes out of necessity like friends of a friend or coworker. Will I seek out new female friends? Not at all in my current state of mind.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 04:24 PM
2

Sex is one of those things that you can't do by yourself You can protect yourself, buy your own things, operate weapons and machines, male or female. But remaining in a sexless close friendship with a woman you have strong desires for isn't fulfilling, helpful, and it's wasteful to a degree. Having her as a casual acquaintance or coworker is a different story if that makes sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 04:19 PM
2

Both statements are correct.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 04:14 PM
1

If she's stringing him along, that's evil
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 04:12 PM
2

Reddit can be a cesspool of toxicity sometimes.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 04:00 PM
2

Not really. Nobody owes anyone sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:59 PM
3

Yes. Absolutely all of this. I prefer to be honest with my intentions because doing anything else is a waste of time.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:57 PM
1

That can explain the "personality is more than looks" statements people make
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:47 PM
1

Yes
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:46 PM
1

Yeah, I can imagine that doesn't feel too pleasant.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:42 PM
1

Seems legit.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:36 PM
1

If there isn't any sexual or romantic attraction, then its all good.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:36 PM
1

With all the male attention they get, they can easily find another guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:35 PM
0

... with attractive women. Men can have platonic friendship with women they're not attracted to.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:28 PM
1

Pretty much.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:27 PM
1

Stupid reason to quit a job, and a job scene and friendship are two different sand boxes
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:26 PM
2

That's not a bad thing at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:25 PM
1

I don't recall seeing this in regards to alpha males
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:25 PM
1

Exactly.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:24 PM
5

Be friends first is bad advice for this reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:23 PM
5

I'm happy he apologized and owned up to his actions. Women aren't owed friendship, but they are owed human decency .
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:21 PM
1

Why? Staying friends doesn't benefit him as explained in the post, and it doesn't benefit you because of how awkward the friendship becomes.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:20 PM
1

Then she didn't lose anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:19 PM
2

If she's not your type visually, then platonic friendship is easy to maintain.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:18 PM
0

See? That's what I'm saying. The awkward friendship is just as bad for the woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:16 PM
2

This is what I've had to tell these people, but they really want to push a false narrative.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:15 PM
3

No one is telling him to remain friends is very true, but you can't JUST chalk it up to "Men only want sex from me/women" there's nuance .
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:11 PM
2

I agree. I'd suggest they befriend a woman they're not attracted to.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:09 PM
3

Exactly. Women have to learn to deal with their own sense of entertainment. "Men HAVE to be friends with me, but I don't owe them sex". I'm not saying friendship is useless w/o sex, but you can't vehemently make this claim and not keep the same energy when he doesn't owe you friendship.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:54 PM
3

Honestly it's the patriarchy that failed us men. Men weren't taught to navigate this stuff, and as an adult it's men's responsibility to learn this .
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:51 PM
2

You do have a point about sexually unsatisfied people. Those people shouldn't prioritize friendship because that won't help them change their lack of fulfilment. She's not obligated to set him up with her friends, wing woman for him, or sleep with him. However, the friendship with her isn't going to help him if she's not doing any of this which she isn't obligated to do.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:48 PM
2

When you say "our lady bits are more important than our personhood". The entitlement stems from that part. You're still a person. Him leaving you isn't devaluing you as a person.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:42 PM
2

You can learn women are people by cold approach. Friendship isn't necessary, but not to be avoided as all costs.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:38 PM
3

Being friends with her isn't maturity nor a good idea. Talking to her as a casual acquaintance is mature.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:36 PM
1

They can. It's easier said than done for some people, but it can happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:05 PM
4

Some women just don't get it, and it really is ok.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 01:06 PM
7

When did I say my experience trump's anyone else's. It's a perspective.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 01:06 PM
2

Why would women hate men for leaving a friendship that is more trouble than it's worth? He likes her as a person. He likes her as a friend. They have two different feelings for one another. He shouldn't stay in that kind of situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 01:05 PM
2

Your company/personhood doesn't change the fact that the relationship isn't worth the suppression of said feelings. You can lose his friendship AND still be a person. And yes, you have every right to feel what you feel.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:29 PM
3

Not true at all. There are men who have female friends who aren't attractive, and they want none of her kitty.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:24 PM
2

Absolutely.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:23 PM
1

What they feel doesn't matter at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:23 PM
2

That's good on paper and encouraged. The problem lies when women get pissy because "you won't be my friend because you like me? Reeee Misogyny"! At least LGBTQ+ men aren't attracted to straight women, so there's a chance those problems won't occur.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:19 PM
1

The answer is "nothing". Nothing good comes out of having a strained relationship due to sexual/romantic feelings. If she needs male friends that badly she can go make a gay bestie or find another person.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:16 PM
2

I wish I could up vote this multiple times. This is the whole point of the post .
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:12 PM
1

Absolutely not. She's not owed friendship.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:10 PM
2

EXACTLY. so many women misinterpret this as "seeing women as sex objects".
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:08 PM
2

That's because women are so used to me attention that they've grown to expect it. If a man can sit her down and explain why he's leaving, that might help dispell that myth.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:07 PM
6

Exactly.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:06 PM
1

That's fine if you still treat women like people, but apparently cutting ties with women you like is objectifying them 🙄
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:06 PM
6

In terms of having female acquaintances?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:04 PM
2

It IS friendship IF the guy had PLATONIC intentions in the beginning.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:01 PM
2

No, it doesn't. Read the post and comments.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 12:00 PM
3

This is the one.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:23 AM
2

At least they get props for equal opportunity friendship.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:23 AM
3

Yes in "an eye for an eye" kind of way. If both parties want to play thay game, that's up to them. Besides, hell catch on and leave eventually.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:18 AM
3

If he's using friendship as a ploy then sure, but if he was a platonic friend from the jump, then there isn't any expectation for sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:11 AM
3

Sounds like a heathy and problem free dynamic.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:10 AM
2

It is. I speak from experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:09 AM
2

I misread the comment. Also, there are other friends to get sympathy from.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:08 AM
12

Acquaintances with women are more doable as a straight male than full blown friendship.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 03:00 AM
4

Oh, lol, I do that often.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:59 AM
2

In some cases, relationships do start that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:58 AM
2

In this day and age, the lack of context conveyed with text, and the internet era, specificity is a requirement.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:50 AM
3

I theorize women can pull this "being friends with crush thing" off because of countless sex and boyfriend offers, so it's no big deal. Men rarely have options to being with, so wasting his time on the relationship with his unrequited love interest should be spent on another woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:49 AM
9

You are 138% correct
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:45 AM
3

It's baffling how some women can't fathom that their friendship isn't more important than being stuck in a relationship that cause more trouble than it's worth.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:30 AM
4

I've noticed some women fail to see this due to an abundance of male suitors.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:29 AM
5

There's nothing to exploit though. If the feelings are unreciprocated, why stay in a dead end friendship when he he can make new friends with another person? Subjugating his feelings does nobody any good. He's miserable and she deals with an awkward friendship now. Nobody wins.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:26 AM
5

Well said and articulated. Bravo.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:17 AM
4

That's not a bad thing at all
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:17 AM
3

The issue stems from believing that the friendship is more important and having the guy stick around just so he can be used for something he can no longer provide, which is friendship. Nobody should force themselves to stay in a friendship they no longer need to be in.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:16 AM
2

Fair.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/22 02:10 AM

I think issues like these are avoidable if straight women befriended more gay men .

I think some women are so privileged to have so many sex and dating offers, that they take it for granted and tend to throw tantrums when they can't have everything their way.

If you feel that entitled, just make more gay male friends.

I stated he CAN genuinely start off with purely platonic intentions, but he genuinely developed feelings. It's in the post .

Or, and this sounds scary, she can grow up and realize she's not owed friendship and let him move on to someone who will reciprocate.

As a straight man, nope. As long as you can be friendly and cordial with women, you should be fine. I've gotten interesting perspectives from friends of friends, coworkers, and strangers who were women. I don't label them as friends per se, but I have plenty of casual acquaintances who are women (and men)

-Women aren't owed friendship. If she rejects you, move on. - If she's not conventionally pretty but you like her, own it and go for it.
