Pop music puts women on this pedestal and puts it in their mind that they inherently, just by existing, are all princesses deserving of a Prince Charming and they have to do nothing to earn it. Too many men buy into it too instead of calling it out for what it is, bullshit. I listen to post-hardcore, and I can't blame anybody who doesn't like it but it's a genre I thoroughly enjoy and have found meaning in. That's what matters.
