Read the reddit comment I linked you to. It goes into factors other than the fact that women don't ask for promotions. It gives studies that show men don't react well to women asking for promotions as well as other factors. The studies are most likely biased and even if they aren't, they don't justify the whole country thinking women get paid 23 cents less per dollar than a man. So in the end, yeah it's all bullshit.

I mean, yeah, the 77 cents on the dollar wage gape claim is absolutely false, but there is some amount of evidence that MAY suggest women aren't necessarily treated fairly when it comes to promotions. However, we don't have people fighting in Washington to get rid of female privilege while there are plenty of people fighting to get rid of male privilege. I did not believe racism was a thing a year ago. I'm white and grew up in the nice suburbs. I moved to a black ghetto ass neighborhood last year, and let me tell you, racism is very much alive. I disagree with the idea that sexual strategy is amoral. Ship navigation officer. 4 years of maritime/military college with 100% job placement after graduation (it's all unionized). I work 6 months a year and get 6 months paid vacation. I make about 6 figures a year before taxes and my job allows me to live wherever I want. I would never want to live in NYC again because of the cost of living. If you're a very frugal person than it isn't as big of a deal I guess but it's insane how fast shit adds up there.
