Maybe, but most people are actually happy to be made redundant. Typically it's not because you're under performing and more because the company finished the projects it needed you for or something along those lines. The payout is typically generous so you'll have plenty of money to go on a quick holiday and then find another job.

If everyone is not being hindered in their job ambitions and a particular workfield still happens to have a majority of one gender, I don't see the issue. I can agree with that, my statements were oversimplifying things. The issue is that currently members of particular genders ARE being discouraged from entering certain fields. I didn't specifically say women, men are denied opportunities in female fields too. As for how, I say culturally. Men and women are brought up in certain ways that equip them with different skills in ways that have nothing to do with their physical differences. In addition, stereotypes can scare people away from a particular field for fear of appearing unmasculine of unfeminine. If members of a particular gender are denied the economic opportunities from a given occupation, that puts them at a disadvantage in life. There's plenty of research that suggests diversity provides economic benefits for all within a particular workplace, too.

Honestly I don't mind the extra help women are given in engineering, as long as the men are given similar help in female dominated fields. The grant in the OP seems like a good first step. Note that revenue is different from profit. When an Uber driver says they "make" $2k a week, that's not accounting for the cost of petrol and car maintenance. He probably wasn't including Uber's "cut" either, which is like 20% IIRC. I have no idea whether or not it was true, but it's plausible that someone can make that much a week and for it still not to be worth quitting your day job for it.

I mean I get what you're saying, and I really hate it when people automatically assume the woman is in the right, but as far as I can see the teacher only just noticed the fight happening and was merely trying to break it up. Yep, unless the DD hid the suspension of license, and if there's no reason to believe the DD hid his drunkenness from the kids, then they're just as guilty. The accomplice law isn't complex. If you willingly help someone commit a crime with knowledge of what will happen, then you took part in the crime. I fail to see how either of your constitutional points would apply here.

I suppose you haven't heard of the concept of being an "accomplice" to a crime. I suggest you read up on that. Of course I wasn't saying she literally murdered the cop, but she actively helped her boyfriend as he did it (by slowing down the car and helping him escape). As such, she took part in that crime, and so she has the same degree of guilt. Can you explain exactly how this law is "unconstitutional" by the way? I fail to see what you're getting at there.

I think it's one thing when the circumstances are ambiguous (as in, there's no proof and she in all likelihood made it up, but it can't be proven either way) but when it's clear that the whole thing was made up in situations like these I agree 100% that the book should be thrown at them. Don't worry, the chart was made on 4chan specifically to make people feel bad. >50% of men are at or under 5'10".
