Literally grew up with the authoritative mother and sensitive father. My mom was the breadwinner, strict, hustler. Dad would cry when I cry, comfort me, worked less when growing up. I like men who are not afraid to cry and share their emotions. I like men who are able to describe to the dark side of their emotions.

This made me sick. I'm sorry but you don't deserve that. Leave him, he sounds like he's not taking you seriously or afraid to lose you.

If any 'red pill' man says he does not like Black women because we are 'loud' and 'ghetto', that says more about that man than us an individual! It is not fair, but those men also have ISSUES they have to solve internally haha

Well maybe its the people who are discussing them who are the issue.. Because we should never be stereotyped to begin with. I don't come across media where those those points are even shared-that can be a largely a reflection of who you're engaging with or the type of folks you are listening to. I am sorry you feel unnoticed!

THIS! Like let's stop making Black folks the picture of this issue, it's a larger issue than that.

This is odd. We don't go unnoticed. Some folks are actually struggling and have generational trauma that may influence cycles of having children out of wedlock, dv relationships, etc. It's so much deeper. I'm confused what this post is asking for? Are you asking for all of us to not be stereotyped??

He's not your dad, he's not obligated to. I'm scared it will burn him out if he keeps feeling like it's a chore to do so. BUT some guys don't mind, communicate and ask him if it bothers him! Someone else said to add to his life and I agree. I notice my so is more likely to feel like things are less of a chore when I help take away his stress too.

Same! I was a huge impulsive shopper before I met him. He leveled me out a lot!

Sounds like my so. Grew up in a family that came to America with little money, so they try to save up as much and make items and furniture in the household long lasting. If it really bothers you, ask him to go to stores with you and maybe gift him something new. I've done that and eventually my so would replace some things, but I still understand how much saving is important to him.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
