If you're a contributor to open-source projects typically hosted on GitHub, and can cite them in your resume, that'll give you a big leg up.

As a general, undirected rebuttal to the argument "what makes you think she won't leave you?": As long as you continue to demonstrate superior value, she won't want to leave you. It's a matter of your confidence in yourself more than anything else, when dealing with that argument. Do you really have the power to keep her, after all is said and done? If yes, then go ahead. If no, then stay away. - unless you're just looking to pump and dump. But, if you're looking to break up a relationship just …

There are a few female PUAs out there, as far as I've read.

I realize she didn't invite me out to insult me. I simply find the "just a friend" situation to be highly insulting. With respect to insult, it's not her, it's me.

She is attracted to me. I'll go on out a limb and say very attracted to me. We volunteer together and so we meet up incidentally through that, but I'm really not interested in going out of my way to hang out with her (anymore.)

I respect that you have an opinion, but to be honest I don't care. I didn't ask for judgment. You can "my boy" me all you want, but ultimately I will do as my own ethics, worldview, and imperatives dictate. I posted here not looking for vindication or validation, but for interpretation. I essentially asked, "is this color blue?" Not "is blue right or wrong?" You might not agree with my way, and that's fair. That's why you're you and I'm me. That's all I have to say on this.

You've got a pretty big chip on your shoulder, huh? Did someone hurt you or something?

Her boyfriend is a putz and I have seven years of martial arts behind me, so I'm not worried (at all) about him. That said, I'm not actually trying to steal her from him (anymore.) I found out recently that he's offered to pay for part of grad school for her and I don't want to get anywhere near that. Regardless, I find the idea of being around as 'the friend' when her boyfriend is there insulting.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
