Nah, simps are generally the result of mommy issues. Guys whose mothers were emotionally distant from them, didn't treat them with enough love, were harsh towards them or made them feel they had to earn their approval, tend to put female attention and approval on a pedestal, and become obsessed with pleasing women. Guys whose fathers were absent, either literally or emotionally, tend to become self-centred, entitled and have little respect for other people's boundaries. This can manifest itself …

I think men who haven't had father figures tend to be less respectful of boundaries, so they're more likely to feel entitled to dates/sex/harems and be willing to be manipulative to get it, than men who grew up with present father figures. Fathers often have a role of "laying down the law" in the family, especially with boys when they get to the age of saying "no" to everything and always wanting their way. Obviously this is a generalisation, but it often falls that way. Mom has been at work all…

A lot of dudes here seem to think that women are not in anyway posessive over their partners, and in fact actually like the thoughts of watching him fuck another woman, and that women all have lesbian fantasies that they want to fulfill. Its probably a symptom of porn brain. If the majority of ones interaction with women comes from watching them in porn, one would tend to think that way.

Going from "ex" to "rando" is a jump you're making. I get the impression with most of these scenarios, she tried it with an ex LTR, didn't like it, and decided she wouldn't ever do it again. Not that she did it with a random dude she hooked up with. Think about this: Say you tried pegging once or twice with your ex-gf and you absolutely hated it, found it painful etc. Would you be happy to try it again with a new gf? For threesomes, its complicated as theres a third person invloved, which can re…

Fake implies that you're fabricating a persona for yourself that isn't real. So lying about your life story, your accomolishments, your interests, etc. Whereas including everyone in the conversation, asking people non-creepy questions, etc, is more like polishing yourself up and putting your best foot forward, than "fakery". You're not fabricating, you're just presenting your authentic self in a good light. Its like comparing makeup and skincare to cosmetic surgery. Or a photograph of a real obj…

He's weird looking in the same way that Caroline Ellison is weird looking, to be honest. Both of these people are "average" in the sense that they're at a healthy weight, look like they take care of themselves etc. But also their faces are just not aesthetic and maybe even unnerving to a lot of people. It feels mean to say this since its not something either of them have control over, but also the uncanny valley effect is real and tends to produce a very strong negative feeling in many people. P…

I think most people do not like the thought of their partner being with another person, and struggle a little bit with the idea that their partner has a past. However its something that one has to accept if they want to actually have a relationship. For this reason, most people either take a "don't ask, don't tell" policy to romantic history, or they just get that stuff out on the table early on, see if its all good with each other, and if so, go on and focus on the future. I think some men have…

As an actual man, if my partner was to get pregnant, I wouldn't even ask for a paternity test. It would be the last thing on my mind, to be honest. But speaking hypothetically, I would be okay without a paternity test if: The birth was happening in the context of a long-term, committed relationship, where no cheating had been known to happen previously I genuinely trusted my partner and believed she was a fundamentally good person That said, if the above two conditions were not met, I would not …

I think anyone who literally can't sleep beside their spouse after a normal argument either has emotional issues or doesn't really love them. Like if you've literally gotten to the point where you potentially might be breaking up afterwards then fair enough. But a standard argument shouldn't result in not being able to be in a room with the person after longer than like an hour or two has passed since the argument.

Capitalising words in text is known as shouting. It tends to make it difficult to take what is written seriously. Is that data from babies born to married couples, babies whose birth occurred after seperation, or babies whose birth occurred due to a one-night stand/casual relationship? I think thats a relevant question to ask, and is not changing the subject, but rather bringing the data into the context of the subject being discussed, as I was referring only to men who are married to the mother…

Thats fucked up. But I don't really see how its relevant to what I'm saying. All I'm saying is that I understand why a parent who is raising a child with another parent, as a family, would be pissed off if their partner submitted their child's DNA to a third party without informing them first. I'd put it in the same category as say, signing up your child to a particular school without discussing the choice with the other parent. I never said it should be illegal, or taken as an incrimination of …

I think if the father is willing to take full custody of his child which the mother doesn't want, and can pass all of the standard checks, then he should be allowed to. I wasn't aware that he wasn't, and I'm not from the USA, but if thats how things are thats pretty messed up and should change. As for whether or not getting a paternity test without the mother's consent is a problem: I don't think its "a problem", at least in the sense that I don't believe it should be illegal, nor the dad should…

The younger someone is, the more likely they are to insist on privacy for privacy’s sake. Disagree on this from my experience, at least as far as technology is concerned. Stuff like sharing locations with your partner is a very new thing and I pretty much only hear of Gen-Zs doing it. Millennials and older tend to view its a stalkerish. Older people might be more okay with the idea of sharing accounts for convenience (like shared social media, email, knowing each others passwords (i.e. the dog's…

I think most men ask for paternity tests because of one of the following: They have an anxiety problem or some form of neurodivergence that makes trust difficult (this probably covers a good portion of redpillers) They have trauma from being cheated on previously Something about their wife's behaviour doesn't sit right with them and makes them subcosciously suspicious Very few "normal" men in happy relationships want them. I don't understand why they're treated like such a common thing here.

I think submitting your child's DNA to a database you don't know the owner of without informing the other parent first, is something pretty valid to be pissed at your partner for doing. Generally, parents tend to want to agree on things they are going to do with their child, especially when untrusted third parties are involved. If my partner and I had a baby, and she submitted the baby's DNA to some privately-operated, for-profit genetic screening service, I'd be fucking livid. First of all, you…

Generally I find, at least in Ireland, that groups of girls will go up to groups of guys and start a group interaction, or vice versa, and inevitable a few of them will couple up. Going to a bar alone is a bad idea if you want to meet new people, but with a group, you often will.

The benefit in training long distance running is so you can win long distance races. Are you familiar with the concept of sport? Long distance runners absolutely go all out, and train for speed as well as endurance. Everyone is doing the same distance, so speed and strength is what it ultimately comes down to. The best long distance runners are sustaining sub 5 minute miles over 26+ miles, so to say they aren't physically strong is completely ridiculous. Plus, running and jogging are completely …

There are people who lift weights from literally everywhere along the political spectrum. In the case of a job asking for references, the fact is that they don't trust you. When you're offered a job, your employer has read your CV and met you at most a handful of times for interviews, so there is literally no relationship to speak of, and nothing to base trust on. They ask for references and background checks, and put you on a probationary period, for the expresss reason that they do not and should not trust you. On the man's part: Someone who earns a lot of money, likely spends a lot of time working and less time with their wife and family, which over time leads to them growing apart, which in turn makes divorce more likely. On the woman's part: Assuming she is unhappy in the relationship, divorcing a husband who earns a lot of money but is often absent is significantly safer and carries more incentive than divorcing one who earns an average amount and is an involved partner and parent.

This is it. They resent any man who can get girls, so they will shoehorn him into the "bad guy" mould any way they can. The OP thinks a "good man" should call his wife every time he leaves the office, and buy her an iPhone (€1000+) for their anniversary. When a decent guy is in a relationship or has a good sex/dating life, they raise the standards of "good behaviour" so that he falls into the category of "bad guy".

Every woman I've ever date was happy to split bills, and to alternate paying dates. And theres never been any expectation to be romantic in the classic way. Honestly I think its just a case of different types of men attracting different types of women. I think the chances of a boy thinking this are much, much lower if he has a father figure in his life and a good family/home life. So, if I was a father, I would first and foremost try to maintain a good home life. I think the mob mentality, and even moreso the small town effect, is a very important factor here. The probability of anyone doing anything bad goes up significantly if everyone else in their community is doing it, and especially if a "pillar" of the community is sanctioning or facilitating the abuse. Read up on the actions of Gertrude Banizewski towards her stepdaughter Sylvia Likens. Its somewhat similar to this case, in that Banizewski sexually abused and physically tortured and mutilated Lik…

Hasn't there been tons of layoffs in the tech industry in recent years? Yes, but the majority of them were marketing, sales and HR people. Of the software developers who were laid off, most were due to projects being cancelled as companies moved out of growth phases and into phases of retaining customers. None of these people were laid off because their jobs were automated.

It's why things like Jello molds with fruit and chicken and all sorts of weird shit was put into it, because as children that was considered a luxury item I think thats more to do with the fact that aspic (solidified bone broth) was simply considered a normal part of the diet before factory farming took off in the western world and suddenly you could eat prime cuts of meat every day. In much of Europe, eating stuff like this is still considered normal.

Personally I'm not fine with secret bags, and would understand someone not being fine with paternity tests (in a long-term relationship, paternity tests after breakups or for hookup babies are a different story) Paranoia like that is cancer to a relationship and once you open the can of worms theres not closing it.

If he only wants one because he needs to “trust but verify” however, while knowing that I’ve done nothing to lose his trust, then I would need to step away from the married, because the lack of trust can’t be repaired since there is no source or cause. No. I also think if someone simply can't maintain friendships its a red flag. If someone can't keep a friendship alive, how are they going to be able to manage a relationship? Realistically relationships are more effort than friendships. A red flag doesn't mean "run", it just means "this might be an indication of incompatibility". All 3 things you listed as reasons not to have friendship, are also legitimate reasons not to want to be in a relationship with someone. If someone is so focused on th…

I mean, a fair number of men seem to also want to "turn a hoe into a housewife". That seems to be at least part of the motive of the Red Pill, as most of the early stage advice is only applicable for dating women who are forever "playing the field", and is counterproductive if dating a more reserved, traditional or introverted woman. no man should be dating a woman (unless she's literally perfect in every other department) who can't orgasm at all with a partner. So in short, the lack of orgasms would be an issue in an unhappy relationship, but okay in a happy relationship. The fact that a man is so bothered by his partner struggling to orgasm is likely an indication that there is something bigger wrong with the relationship already. It might be the catalyst for things to end, but I find it unlikely that a man who is happy an…

I feel its far more common for a person to neglect other aspects of his or her life in favour of video games than say, going to the gym, hiking, amateur soccer, photography etc. My guess is that video games, especially modern ones, are very much designed around being short-term, low effort dopamine hits. Is the whole idea of a scale not to be a bell curve? So 5s are the most common, 0s and 10s are the least common? Therefore, there should be the same number of male 7s and female 7s. If that is not the case, then the scale is completely defective and meaningless.

Ideally the guy just says "cool" and they go on with their evening. However, something being beautiful doesn't mean you want it in your face constantly, or you want to deal with in every situation and every context. Personally I think Michelangelo's David is beautiful, however I'd be pretty pissed off if it suddenly appeared right in my doorway and I couldn't move it. I think Edvard Munch's The Scream is the most evocative painting in history, b…

Its a bit weird that he says Irish girls all want lads that are over 6 foot, then also says that hes over 6 foot and it gives him no advantage. Personally, as an Irish man of 5'6", my experience is that Ireland does have quite a lot of height queens. They don't tend to be super aggressive about it, but they will silently reject lads or just not consider lads who are on the shorter side. I think regarding masculinity, Irish women can be quite fiery (but then again, so are the women of most nation…

Genital mutilation of children of any gender is illegal unless medically necessary. Abortion is legal and a heavily protected right for women. A man by default only has legal rights and responsibilities towards a child he is the biological father of, if he was married to or in a civil partnership with the mother at the approximate time of conception. If the couple is unmarried, the father may opt in to be the child's legal father, with the mother's prior consent. The marital obligation can be co…

I do agree that many women love benevolent sexism. However, I also think that many women who don't like benevolent sexism, get grief for calling it out. So its a bit of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation for them: If they smile and say thanks they're princesses benefitting from sexism, if they say no thank you or insist on not accepting the sexism, they're crazy feminists. For example, if a man holds open a door for a woman, offers to pump petrol for a woman, insists on paying f…

I don't think this is exclusive to men. You mention John Lennon as Reddit's favourite "akshyually they were a really bad person" scapegoat. How about Mother Teresa? IMO she's the other historical person, besides Lennon, that Reddit loves to push a single-sided view of. She's often painted as a sick religious cultist who got off on people's suffering, when in reality she was simply an extremely religious woman trying to make a difference in a poor community to the best of her ability and within t…

"Pick-me" is quite literally the female version of "simp". Its a true 1:1 equivalent. The shit you call a man a simp for, women call women a pick-me for. Women consider other women to be "pick-mes" when they do stuff like cancelling plans with their friends to see a dude they've known for two weeks at short notice, when they stop going out for drinks with girls they've known since they were kids because it makes the bf they met a month ago feel paranoid, when they talk down other women so that t…

The reason Afghanistan is used is because its the only republic in the world which explicitly bars women from being in politics. The reason why, is indeed down to the differences in culture between Islam (which Afghanistan is founded on) and post-Englightenment Christianity (which the majority of republics are based on).

I would argue that extreme action take by Jacinda Ardern was borne out of a lack of emotion and empathy, rather than too much of it. So that doesn't really fit with OP's hypothesis.

I suppose "friend" can be a loaded word cause its subjective. For some it means a close friend who they trust, for others its just someone whobthey ralk to. "Friendly associate" could probably describe the same thing. A lot of men, IME, don't really have "friendly associates". They have close friends, and then co-workers, hobby acquaintences, and neighbours. There isn't such a middle ground between stranger and friend I guess.

Maybe we're talking about different things. Firstly, I don't think this is exclusively an Anglo thing. It seems, from what I've heard from people who live there, and from the statistics (suicide, alcoholism, etc) that the Nordic and Baltic countries are quite similar with this. But also, I could be wrong here as I've never lived in these countries. Secondly, as someone who is Irish (i.e. born, raised and live here) it is absolutely not a new phenomenon, at least here, and it is deeply engrained …

It is quite strange, but I have heard its similar in the UK and the US. It does vary a little bit by background and class also: It would be more common for upper-middle class old men to have more of a social circle, but working class old men tend to be a lot more isolated, especially outside of cities. Younger men here are a lot more socially engaged than older generations though. Theres also a lot of awareness and talk here of male mental health. I think a lot of young people have experiences o…

A lot of middle-aged men have beer bellies. Not all, but definitely a lot, probably the majority. Middle-aged men who are athletic are not the majority at all, in my experience. Like you, I don't think balding is really that big of a deal though. If anything I'd say being bald as an old dude looks better than a head of grey or dyed hair. I think men in general are pickier about friendships than women. Women tend to seek out commonality, even if it might not be deep, and network widely. Whereas men tend to be a little more tribalistic and can sort of "shit test" other men before calling them friends. That said, I think the super isolated way men can be, is a bit of a anglosphere and northern europe specific thing. I think the emphasis on homesteading in these cultures put a massive emphasis on self-sufficiency in their masculinit…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 10:32 AM

I think you are correct about female camaraderie, and the fact that its a lot stronger than male camaraderie. I think this has always been the case: Women have a universal camaraderie with each other, and will look for things to bond over, while men are more tribalistic and will only bond with people they have a common view on many things with. Theres probably an evolutionary reason for it, like women needed to stick together to keep the house tidy, the farm tended to and the kids looked after w…

I agree personally. Ideally, when we have kids, I would love for both me and my partner to work part-time, and both spent half our time at home with the kids and half our time at work, alternating. Financially and economically speaking however, this is highly unlikely to ever be feasible.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 11:45 PM

That's fair, but I don't recall seeing this news story, or any defense of it. As I said, it could easily have happened. But everything else I am skeptical of (the woman doing it as a truly political act, the defense of it, etc.) It would be helpful if OP linked the story, or some reactions to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 11:38 PM

I tried looking it up, but couldn't find anything either. It does sound like something that could easily happen in an episode of psychosis, so I won't say it didn't happen. But there are also several cases of men killing their kids (and wives) in episodes of psychosis too, so I wouldn't use it as a damning of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 10:21 PM

I agree completely, and that also applies to things like drugs, gambling, being violent to fit in. Parents need to look after their kids emotionally, and denying them their emotions only leads to them coming out in other ways, or them seeking solace elsewhere from potentially bad people. Worrying about the ways your kid could go down the wrong path is not dismissing their emotions though. If anything, this worry should be applied practically such that you build a strong relationship with them an…

I think fundamentally women seriously struggle to understand how it feels to be judged based unchangeable genetic traits. I think women are so familiar with being judged for their appearance (both changeable and unchangeable) that they're either desensitised to it or have made their peace with it, so they see it as a universal experience and something you just have to accept rather than a horrid affliction. Same with me tbh. You can treat someone as a sexual being, without treating them like a sex object. Human beings are inherently sexual beings, and a mistake men make can be trying to divorce themselves and the women they want to date from the pretty crucial sexual aspect of humanity. You can pretty easily tastefully show someone that you are interested in them sexually. A mistake men often make is either being too coy or too forward, but the sweet spot exists.

Relationships change over time. Its normal to open up to each other gradually, and gradually become more committed to one another. In terms of tendencies, men tend to be more individualistic (or tribalistic in some cases) and competitive, while women tend to be more collectivistic and collaborative. In practice, this means men will tend towards having a motivation to be the best they (or their team) can be, and will be cruel to those who threaten their success, whereas women will tend towards having a motivation to keep everyone at a similar level, and will be cruel to those who threaten that consensus. There is a lot of good advice out there, but some of the "blue pill" advice, especially that aimed specifically at men who are shy or struggling with dating, is just bad, overly sterile and takes a lot of the fun and magic out of dating for women. I don't really think of it as luck. Like I'm talking about just seeing women cross my path day-to-day. Prime Monica Bellucci is, in my opinion, pretty plain looking. I mean she's pretty, but not very exciting looking at least to me. Although I understand thats kind of what "the scale" is about, its not so much attractiveness, as widespread appeal. So people on the top of the scale are going to be kind of milquetoast.

/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/24 10:19 AM

I'm not sure what angle you're coming at this from. Your erlier comment was "why don't more women get into findom?", but now you're suggesting that findom is a very widespread practice that shows women by and large have no decency. You really have to choose one of these beliefs, you can't have both. Findom is a way that women who have no sense of ethics can make money. Most women don't particularly want to do it, though, because they have a moral compass.
