I found out after the fact about the nickname from the man who is now my partner. At the time of being assaulted, I'd already told the rapist that I wasn't interested in sex outside of a relationship, and he wasn't interested in relationships, so in my mind it was a done deal. He spiked a cup, had another person hand it to me, then physically pulled me into another room. It was loud and no one heard me screaming. There is no doubt in my mind that people make up or exaggerate assault stories, but…

I found out about his reputation afterward. I wasn't "hanging around" with him. I found out later that he'd taken a cup intended for me and poured high proof alcohol into it. I was a trusting person back then. You're scum.

I would never claim to be a sufficiently devout Catholic—I mean, I’ve had sex with my partner before marriage, among a million other things—but I do want to be married to him. I’m actually leery of the ‘getting married/big wedding’ bit. He’s the one excited for a huge party/wedding (as is his right). Perhaps part of the reason I felt like posting in the first place was that women put so much pressure on other women to peacock their romantic ‘successes’ through weddings. Or to prove how ‘in love’…

Your comment was really the wrong comment to respond to, so apologies for that.

That is all true, as I imagine would be true for any couple that moves in together. I'm sure that he's less starry-eyed about me too. My real meaning with the divorce/cheating thing is that we're Catholic. Divorce would likely bar us from participating fully in our religion (the Eucharist). Cheating (especially if I did it) would lead straight to divorce. I actually think it's good that religion creates "barriers to exit" in a marriage, but it does mean that any doubts I have about marriage crea…

So, I guess six years of being faithful and refusing other men isn't proof that I'm invested. Divorce/cheating/"open relationships" are not options.

Original OP of the crosspost. Yes, totally, the nightmares that lasted for years really made me miss him. If you ever have the experience of being raped (I sincerely hope not), I look forward to hearing whether or not you miss your rapist.

I'm the original OP. Really pleasant stumbling upon this. A sociopathic "alpha," known by his male friends as "Dr. Hymen" for pathologically assaulting virgins, raped me. The idea of my partner as being a "beta" is funny. That's not our relationship dynamic, or who he is. As for the bucks part... I ask for nothing. I don't have an engagement ring (or rather, I have a silver band that cost $20 bucks and doesn’t register as an engagement ring to other men/women). I moved to be with him. I know MGT…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
