That’s tough man. Sorry you went through that. I kinda have the opposite problem. My mother was far too overbearing and clingy. She still weighs heavy on me and I resent her for it.

I’ve cried in front of my previous partners before. Never with the intention of garnering their sympathy but my vulnerability was always received with lovingness and understanding. Quite frankly, if a girl distances herself from me for expressing my emotions (in a self aware and non needy way) then I could nor care less. Truly. That’s not the type of woman I would have any inkling of staying with.

Lol I hold the door for everyone. Don’t really expect anything in return. Just like to be of service.

I’ve strayed so far away from this method that I understand its value but also understand its shortcomings. As another has mentioned, I think it is contextual - in many senses.

I still find it sobering to have it laid out in front of you so clearly. Especially with the innocent looking and acting ones.

I’d like to thank you u/asknorway for a fleshed out and rational response. Much respect to you brother. Your post (why was it removed by the way?) and comments are head on and non-evasive of feedback. You hit a couple nails on the head. I do tend to hoard theory without taking action. You’re right, at a certain extent, it starts to get confusing. And as much as I want to say that I will be approaching extensively, allowing experience to be the teacher, I always find myself doubtful that I will f…

I agree wholeheartedly with your post. The tactic of displaying hints of humor, charisma, and charm while practicing restraint and never truly revealing all your benefits until her benefits are first revealed to you is one that is sure to reap results. I’ll be the first to admit that i’ve fallen of that horse. I used to “get it”. It wasn’t easy, it demanded discipline and fortitude, but it was extremely gratifying. However, beneath all that mojo, I was always extremely vulnerable, but I kept it …

I somewhat disagree for reasons mentioned by others and also the fact that the tables turn when you slowly start to withdraw the attention and validation. Not gonna lie, I find thrill in the chase and consider the withdrawal after heavily cementing my validation as part of that same chase.

Just watched the video. Very enlightening I must say. I’m done with college but this still applies (maybe not entirely) to certain social hubs/communities. However, I’m always weary of being dogmatic and strictly following advice. In this case, not because the advice isn’t sound but 1. Language is sometimes the source of misunderstanding (e.g. hadn’t that person asked the question about the waterfall and neutral rapport in the high stock/class tree, a very fundamental clarification would’ve been…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
