Well yes , there are reasons why courts are supposed to require more than this (although they clearly don't always feel it's necessary either) but college campuses aren't courts of law. I don't know of anyone who has suggested anything else. Female firefighters need to pass the same physical fitness standards as their male counterparts, too.
