From what I can see, your biggest issue right now is that you're having trouble sifting the important things from the 'noise'. For instance, the song, the singing, etc... none of that matters. That's just a thing she used to get closer to you. You have to stop acting on the concrete and start acting on the abstract. It's not even so much that you can't see that, it's that you are also paying attention to what your brain is telling you. For instance, you immediately picked up on the fact that she…

To answer your question: Yes and no. Things 'seem' true or false because of perspective. Many people raised in America will actually throw up and physically feel sick when being forced to eat crickets or grasshoppers. But in other countries, these are sold as food and eaten without any second thoughts. What the Americans feel is absolutely real to them, there's no doubt about that. Likewise, you are doing those things that characterize you as a nice guy. And they feel right, smell right, make pe…

I wouldn't say this subreddit is perfect. We have all kinds of people. Some are genuinely learning things and trying to better themselves. Then there's posts like this. I can understand both why men come here, and yet also why women find things here offensive.

You and the previous poster are talking about two different classes of nice guys. One type is the guy who is simply shy around women. The shy guy has one nasty flaw: he is shy. This means that their will is easily bent by others. A shy guy won't speak his mind for fear of reproach of others, being looked down upon, ostracized, or being seen as rude. When a shy guy shows up at a place where people behave in different, unexpected ways, he will be quiet and careful to avoid offending others or bein…

I see this said a lot in the community, but I'm wondering if that's really the best approach. It's not necessarily about escalating or failing to escalate. I'd say it's more about attacking the original issue, which is the fear of messing it up, which caused the failure to escalate. Because let's face it, you want to escalate, and you've seen how others escalate, etc. But what's holding you back will exist whether or not you actually do (the fear of messing up things). So instead of ignoring the…

I'm gonna be honest here... I read the article with every intention of finding something to accuse the author of being crazy about. But I found nothing. From what she says, unless she is lying, it appears that the guy in question was just being inconsiderate. I admit that other than her side of the story, I know nothing about this situation. But looking at what she says: He did not mention her to his girlfriend who he was in an open relationship with. Her subsequent conclusion that therefore, it…
